Eloise’s POV:

The house was huge. There are over five large bedrooms with all king-size beds and superb interior, two guest rooms, which looks like master bedrooms in itself. There is also a wide pool at the back of the house, a big basement and entertainment room with all kinds of games stocked. My jaw as on the floor the whole time as Dexter gave me a tour of the house, while I look at him like he’s grown two heads.

“You live here?”

“Well, it’s one of my backup houses in neutral territory and away from the city,” he shrugs, and I gape at him. Back up? This is even bigger than anything I have ever seen and he calls it a back up?

“Who the hell are you?”

Come to think of it, he never spoke much of his parents, or his background. He doesn’t even talk about his pack, and I have known him for about five years.

He chuckles then swings his arm over my shoulder. I roll my eyes, but don’t push him away. He led me to his kitchen, which is massive and contained every possible ingredient, and

Eloise’s POV:The way he said the compliment made me blush, my face burning hot as he continued to stare at me without blinking. I was about to say something when I was saved by the bell when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.“Ah.” I quickly pull out my phone, pointing at it.Dex raises an eyebrow and sighs, nodding his head so I answer it.“Eloise!”“Mom?” I gasp, my eyes darting to Dexter who started prepping the ingredients for dinner. Excitement bubbles through me as I have not seen nor heard of her for a long time. She sent me a text once, saying it would be too obvious if she contacts me right after I disappeared from the pack. Apparently, my father had been on a rampage looking for me, nearly turning the entire city apart to find me. It always made me goosebumps. The thought of being found by none other than my father terrified me to the core. My father would kill me, that’s for sure.“Honey,” she starts, while I can’t help but smile just to hear her voice.“I’m so glad you

Eloise’s POV:His lips crashed against mine making me freeze, yet he deepens the kiss and I almost give in to it before everything within me screams that this is wrong and I come to my senses, shoving him away.“Dex!” I wipe my mouth with the back of my hand, and when I glance up to look at him, he looked hurt.“Do I repulse you that much?” he asks, taking a step forward while I take a step back.“What? No, Dex, of course not,” I pause, knowing I doubted that to be true. My entire body is shaking, and for the first time it feels as if looking at a stranger. He stops, and tilts his head. I could feel his aura pressing down on me like a dark cloud, and the wind was brewing against me.“Then why are you moving away?” he asks, and I look down to realize I have put a considerable gap between us.With a sigh, I move my gaze back to him.“Look, Dex, I appreciate everything you have done for us, truly,” I say sincerely, knowing I would not be where I am if it weren’t for him.I shake my head.

  • My Luna, My Son, My Regret   24 - You know you can still do it, right?

Eloise’s POV:The drive took about four and a half hours going back to the city. I received a text an hour ago, and saw it was my mom. She was waiting in the hidden café, and Dexter had to take the lengthy twists and turns around the border to avoid getting caught and in turn, alerting the Alpha who I hear now owns the city—Alpha Kaden. Good thing Dex knows someone on patrol today to cover for us while we enter the city.Dexter opens the door for me at the café and I walk in. My eyes scan the room before I eventually spot my mother sitting near the glass window. “Mom?” I call out first once I got closer, and I’m pretty sure she heard the crack in my voice as she turned around. Her eyes glowed and widened when she saw me, and she stood right before crashing into my arms, squeezing the life of me when she gasps and stumbles back. Her eyes drop to my giant belly, and I watch her eyes become glassy.“Look at you,” she sniffles. Dex and I both look at her looking like she’s about to tear

Eloise’s POV:Mom laughed whilst I still can’t believe she said that in front of my best friend. Thankfully, she said no more of the matter and we spent the next hour eating lunch and talking some more. Leaving the café, mom insisted I go to the doctor for a check-up. I had thought about it, constantly worrying about my babies since it has been months since my last one, so why not? My mom happens to know a doctor who agreed to keep my results completely off the record in case one of Kaden’s spies happen to be snooping around my mom, keeping tabs of her tracks.Dex drove us there without complaint, always flashing his friendly smiles and I was relieved. It took us another two hours to get there, and when we did, mom introduced me to her friend, doctor Kim.She was in her mid-thirties, and looked rather friendly. After a thorough check-up, she congratulated me, announcing three healthy little babies are definitely on the way. Mom took the news pretty well, and even cried knowing she w

  • My Luna, My Son, My Regret   26 - You know you want to

Eloise’s POV:The next few weeks passed by like a breeze. After that day, Dex has been sweet and loving towards me, making me wonder if I just imagined the whole thing, him shouting at me in the car and targeting my babies. Yet, his actions in the past few weeks contradicted what he said. Making me question whether it was just hormones, making me exaggerate everything I see and hear. Dex never raised his voice at me in the five years we’ve known each other. In fact, he even bought a crib, and we had just finished setting up a whole room for the nursery once they arrive. To my confusion, mom hasn’t called me since. It was so unlike her, since the last time we saw each other, she was so excited about the triplets. I wondered while I went about my day in the house while Dex was out running his own errands. He doesn’t tell me where he was going so I wasn’t sure when he’ll be back, so I set out to cleaning. First, I cleaned up the kitchen and vacuumed the entire place before doing the l

  • My Luna, My Son, My Regret   27 - Speaking of the Devil

Kaden’s POV:“Alpha Kaden, is something wrong?” I look up and see Alpha John, one of the alphas attending this council meeting, furrow his brows, watching me. My eyes scan the entire room to see the other alphas had stopped to look at me, before falling on my beta who was leaning against the wall, a confused look on his face. My eyes flashed dangerously, and I grit my teeth. My hand shaking terribly wrapped around my glass. A little bit tighter, and it would break.“Yes… Yes, continue.” I mutter. Even saying those two words took much effort as I fought against my wolf. He wants blood. And he couldn’t wait. I tap my foot on the floor impatiently, pretending to listen to Alpha John go on about a new law forbidding first-born females to be alphas. I would listen some other time but not now. Not when I’m this close to shifting and tearing into every alpha I see.Sweat trails down the side of my face, and my jaw clenches. This isn’t good. I have to get out of here before I fucking explod

Eloise’s POV:“I’m done being friendly.” He spits before his fist punches me in the stomach. My mouth falls open, and I drop to my knees.Yet my knees didn’t touch the ground as he catches me, his lips colliding with mine forcefully while I struggle with the pain through my stomach. Panic fills me as I think of my babies. My hand instantly moving to cover my stomach before he grabs my wrists, pinning them above my head. His knees press between my legs, the sudden movement doubling the pain making me want to crunch over, yet he refuses to let me go. He buries his nose in my neck and inhales loudly.“Dex, please,” I beg as tears stream down my face, dripping down my chin. He doesn’t listen and instead, he began licking and nipping at my skin. He let out a lewd moan that made my skin crawl for good reason. From the corner of my eye, I see him pull out a white cloth, and my brows push together.“Dexter?” Another wave of panic settles in my stomach, that gut-wrenching feeling telling you

  • My Luna, My Son, My Regret   29 - Look at me

Eloise’s POV:It was like a never-ending cycle. Not a day goes by without Dexter snapping photos of me, recording me and him while he makes me perform every sick fucked-up delusions he carved in his head. Every day has become a nightmare to me since that fateful night. Afraid he’d hurt my babies, I did everything he asked me of me. Anything just to keep them safe. Every night, his camera sits at the foot of the bed where I am strapped most time of the day, except when I ask him to use the bathroom. When I do, however, have to use the bathroom, I use it under his ever-watchful gaze, and without clothes as he prefers it that way. Each time he does, a part of me breaks, and my wolf once again disappeared after that night. The night she told me the truth about him. Dexter. It turns out it was him who spread those scandalous photos of me to the media, which in turn had be kicked out of my house, by my father and rejected by my mate. I should have known, I should have seen right through him

They are pitch-black, letting me know his wolf is here with me now.The water continues to pour down my body like rain, but oddly it started to feel colder..I hugged my arms and tipped my head lower. If he’s not leaving, then I won’t move an inch or even look at him. He can watch me sit in this shower all afternoon for all I care.“Eloise,”As soon as his deep voice echoed around me, I realized I was wrong.“Look at me.”His voice came out a low growl, and laced with pure cold-blooded dominance that make my knees buckle underneath me.“Look at him,” my wolf urged, and I scoffed at her.“Are you in this with me or not?” I hissed.Adeline said nothing more as she faded, blocking herself out of my reach until I hear no sign of her. Just like I thought. She was acting strange.I was still catching my breath, my skin flushed and trembling from the climax I h

130Eloise’s POV:The room next to his office was an empty one but I figured it was a guest room.As I entered, two omegas were already waiting for me with their heads bowed down in submission.“Welcome back, luna. The Alpha sent us,” They greeted in perfect sync without lifting their heads.I see they never learned to stop calling me their Luna. I sighed.“These are clothes the Alpha sent us to bring you. Would you like us to help you bathe?” The other brunette asked in a deeply polite tone.“What is this, the medieval century? What is it with these people helping us bathe?” my wolf uttered, clearly not comfortable to have our skin exposed and handled by two women. What’s more, I’m a grown woman.“And what is it with your mood swings lately, Adeline?” I chuckled back at her. When she doesn’t respond and instead withdrew herself to the back of my head, I thought it was best to let her be.That’s weird. Our period isn’t up until Wednesday next week. Adeline had been in a pretty bad moo

Kaden’s POV:TWO DAYS AGOI had buried my head in a shit pile of documents yesterday, and today, as Colton requested to take time off of work saying he has some business to do with other neighboring packs. I’m not sure what that was all about but I trusted Colton. I trust him with my life.So when he told me I should get on with this pile of documents for at least a day or two to cool off after what happened between me and my mate, I had no choice. Colton assured me she would be alright, and he has eyes on her the entire time. All Colton said was that she’s fine. So I didn’t worry. And now here I am.Colton and I grew up together. Back when we were just kids, we were basically inseparable. You could say we were brothers, and we still are. But that was cut short when my father gave him the title of omega. An orphaned boy demoted to omega no doubt became a laughingstock once in our pack. I didn’t know who his parents were, and my father seemed tight-lipped about it.It sickened me to se

Eloise’s POV:He’s a prick, I have to say. Why does he have to do that in front of me? I stomped my foot glaring at the wall in the bathroom. I could almost see Kaden and that annoyingly gorgeous smirk on his face when he looked at me, naked.“He wasn’t naked. Don’t be too dramatic,” Adeline grunted, rolling her eyes.“I think I know what I saw.” I hissed back at her.“You mean his abs? I know, they looked scrumptious,”I did not resist the urge to scoff at her. Is she even my wolf?Shaking my head, I began stripping off my clothes. I was already naked by the time I remembered I didn’t bring any extra with me.Great. Now I will have to go back in there looking stupid.Wait a minute, this isn’t my fault. It’s his. He should have known I didn’t bring any with me.I sighed, ready to throw my clothes back on when a knock came on from the other side.“I brought you some clothes,” Kaden’s rough voice sounded through the door.I froze dead in my spot, facing the door with my jaw dropped. Kaden’s POV:The moment I cut off the link, Rictus howled inside me.It’s been a few days since I last saw Eloise, and to be honest, it’s driving me to the brink of insanity. Especially my wolf.“Where the f*ck is she, Kaden?” he growled. I touched my temples between my thumb and finger, rubbing small circles in a bid to appease the throb in my head.“She will be here any second.” I growled back, keeping it low since I kind of understand the predicament my wolf Rictus is in.“Don’t you f*cking know it. This is all your fault,” he growled, pacing back and forth nonstop. He’s been like this since she disappeared out of nowhere, and no one’s telling me sh*t except that they all saw her leave the pack. Their lips are tightly sealed for some reason.“She’s been avoiding us,” my wolf whimpered. At this point, his mood swings are f*cking driving me insane. One minute he wants to rip me from inside out himself, the next he is begging me to hunt her down.I grunted. I can’t tell him it wasn’t

Eloise’s POV:My trance eventually broke when I heard the sound of the doors suddenly jolt open. I ripped my eyes from the door. The doc’s eyes were slightly wide as she scanned the room, her jaw was clenched and a tiny bead of sweat rolled down her sunken cheeks. She is quite thin, I mentally noted.“Beta Colton?” She peered at me with cold, empty eyes, but I couldn’t miss the tremble in her small voice.“Oh, he just left uhm, doc,” I stand and moved to approach her but she suddenly shrieked.I furrowed my brows, watching her carefully wondering why she acted so afraid, like somehow she expected something to lurch at her at any moment.I forced a smile, “What’s the problem, doc?”I raised my hands showing my palms hoping she’d take it as a sign that I meant no harm.“Abbie, the woman in that room, she’s my friend,” I explained carefully, and she snapped as if she’d regained her control over her body. She straightened her back, and although her knees shook a little, she spoke in a calm

Eloise's POV:"Beta Colton," the brown wolf tilted his head in submission as soon as he shifted into his human form. The gray wolf whose eyes had been filled with lust lowered his head as he turned to face a fuming Colton stomping over towards us. His nostrils flared and fists clenched into balls by his sides."What do you think you're doing?" He questioned the gray wolf as he stopped before him.The wolf's fur stood abruptly in fright, its body trembled despite his large size."W-We thought they were trespassers, Sir," he stuttered, I heard only because we shared a mindlink.Beta Colton growled, allowing some of his livid aura onto the scared wolf."I will deal with you later." He growled lowly before he turned his gaze back to me."Luna?"I turned my back to him, showing him Abbie's weakened body that hugged my back. The moment his eyes landed on her, his eyes widened and he rushed over, shoving the two wolves aggressively aside in the process."What happened to her?" He spat in the

Eloise’s POV:Home. I had to go home.If it’s true… then I’ll have to see it for myself. My wolf’s paws landed on the ground after I shifted, my back elongating as fur sprouted all over my skin, my full face morphing to Adeline’s true form.I didn’t need to tell her what to do. She knew my thoughts as much as I knew hers. And back there, we had the exact same thought. This couldn’t be just a coincidence. I told myself, feeling Adeline’s silent nod in agreement.Adeline kicked her legs, paws thudding against leaves and branches scattered along the ground. Our clothes tucked between her sharp canines. We made sure we wouldn’t end up naked when we arrive home.“We’re getting close. Hang tight.” Adeline said, making me tuck into myself closer knowing full well the meaning behind those words. She was going to run at full speed. Adeline may not be the largest wolf out there, but she sure run fast.Over time, our strength improved, too.And I hoped that would be enough to face what lurked be

Eloise’s POV:His jaw ticked, and I saw his hands clench into fists at his sides. He should have expected this. He knew. He was going to take them away the moment we are found, and I would have lost the only thing that was keeping me alive, away from the brink of insanity I would have fallen deeply into a long time ago.I glared up at him, not backing down.He won’t take my kids away from me, I assured myself as my chest was beginning to rise and fall in rapid motion. They’re safe. Out and away from this wretched city where all the devils reside. The only thing keeping me from giving in to my anxiety was the fact that they are safe.Thick, heavy silence fell in the air between us. It was almost suffocating.“I want to meet them,” he said after a moment, voice low but demanding. I could feel his aura circling me as if he was prepared to shove me with it.My teeth gritted as I glared up at him.“No.” I said fiercely in a dismissive tone.My decision was final. He is not going to take th
