Chapter 6. Are You Lost Baby Girl?

The woman's eyes are half closed with her mouth slightly open and a moan of someone who's in between pain and pleasure is coming from her. I couldn't turn my gaze away as I watch the broad back of the man pulling her up against the wall, her dress pulled up showing her long skinny legs in pointed high heels. My feet is glued to the ground and I couldn't move as I stood there watching. Is he hurting her? What am I supposed to do?

I gather all my strength and opened my mouth as it seems the situation needs to be explained. "Excuse me?"

They stopped and all of a sudden the woman open her eyes and she was put down by him that I lost her sight then her feet landed on the ground and the man towered above her. Covering her away from my gaze.

"Who is it? Shit someone is here!"

She uttered with annoyance which made me wonder. Then the man slowly turn his head sideways, the sculpted view of his face is beautiful with a nose so high and his lips that mocks me. His long lashes are visible against the light of the ceiling.

"Are you lost little girl?"

He asked in a rough voice, the strength hidden in his throat. Who is he? I can feel his strong aura just like an Alpha. The woman leaning on the wall is fixing herself and comes out before I could answer him.

"I'm going ahead Alpha Xander, please see me tonight in my place if you want to continue. You know where I live."

Alpha Xander, it means he is the Alpha of the West. How often have I heard his name in my father's lips? I can always remember what his praises are for this Alpha, however I can now assure myself that he has a bad reputation when it comes to women. The feeling of disapproval in my chest is raising against him.

"I can't promise Sandra."

She got out and I had a look at her face a tall woman who can rock her long heels as she walks. Her glance move towards me up and down before she pretended like nothing happened and walk passed me. I suppressed a gasp in my throat, have I mistaken him for hurting her when in fact they are doing something else?

The man slowly turned around and buttoned his long-sleeve shirt. He is very tall and the muscles on his arms and legs is perfectly formed by the formal shirt and the trouser. His hair waves like they were working in the saloon but I am sure a man like him does not go in that kind of place. He stood straight and look at me with the eyes of a hunter that is looking for its prey. I gulp down a tiny lump in my throat as I felt the fear began crawling my skin.

"Are you one of the Palace guests baby girl? Your mother should not have let you wander around for you don't know what you might have encountered in this Palace full of beasts."

As his penetrating eyes look down on me and walk towards where I stand, I find the courage to answer. "I am not lost, I can find my way back. I am sorry if I have disturbed you and your girlfriend but I heard the noise and I thought someone is hurt so I came to check."

The humor in his eyes dance and the corner of his lips twisted upward in a mocking smile. "Oh, then you must be in shock finding out what we were doing."

I shook my head and turned away for I could not bear to continue talking to him, my cheeks are burning up in the heat of embarrassment. How could I be so naive.

"I have to go now."

I took my legs to the way where the noise of the music is louder. "Hey, not so fast! let me walk you inside. Your parents must be worried, I want to make sure that you made it back safely."

His hand reaches out to hold my arm. I stopped and look at him, surprised of his warmth. It feels like electricity caught the part of my body so I shake him off. Did he feel it too?

“No need Alpha, I can take care of myself. I am not weak like other girls."

I was sure his hand squeeze my arm before he let me go. The surprise registered through his eyes but when I look at him closely he blinks and groan.

"You are a stubborn child, your father must have taught you well not to trust strangers. Alpha or not, a young girl like you should know how to protect yourself if you like to wander off alone."

I would have talk back to him when I hear the voice of my mother coming from the other hallway. "Nelika!"

Her heels created noise on the concrete floor when she walk faster and then she arrives in front of us. "There you are sweetie, I've been looking for you since I went to the ladies room too. Where have you been?”

The man beside me look at my mom and then she turn to him in surprise. "Alpha Xander? Oh! Is that you?"

She strolled towards him and kiss him on the cheeks. A smile genuinely appeared on his lips. "It is me Luna Jasmin. Good to see you again after a long time."

Then his eyes returned to me and his smile faded. My mother grab my hand and excitedly showed it to him like I were her present.

"Did you meet my daughter already? Alpha Xander, this is Nelika. My little princess you have to come visit us in the North and get to know her."

My brows furrowed, why does my mother seemed to like him? I bet if she saw him a while ago, she would change her mind about him.

"Oh I've meet your daughter, Luna Jasmin. I am here when she made a wrong turn after the ladies toilet."

His eyes were on me while they were talking. This Alpha is a damn liar too, I don't like him. My lips shut in a thin line. He wanted me to agree with what he's saying.

"I'm glad you met her Alpha Xander.” My mother turns to me. “Come on sweetie let us all go back together. Your father will be happy to meet Alpha Xander again after a long long time."

He walks with us into the huge hall talking, asking my mother about the matters in the North. His tone changes into normal, different when he was talking to only me. Alpha Xander must be friends with my parents since the day I was born, they were talking of the past like I didn't exist. We have gotten back into the crowded hall with everyone when my father saw us sitting at the table.

My father immediately stood up and meet us before everyone else does. "Alpha Xander, good to see you! How are you? It's been a while, you haven't visited the North."

He looks at him with the same vibe, they seemed to have been good friends for a long time. Alpha Xander only looks younger than my father.

"Alpha Zero. Good to see you too."

The two shake hands. Alpha Xander notice the Alpha King at his table and wave his hand and bow his head. Alpha King Vincent smiled at him. It seems that everybody likes Alpha Xander based on how they greeted him. The warm welcome which I did not see in other Alpha guests when they arrive.

My father let him sit at the table with us. In between me and my mother, the spot which made me uncomfortable for the entire evening.
