Hi guys, I'm sorry updates have been slow for two days. I've been feeling a little under the weather since the week began. It got serious yesterday and I was diagnosed with Malaria. I'm currently on medication and writing is challenging for now. I initially planned to finish this story this week but my medication will last for the next three days, so I will complete the story next week and begin the sequel. I will try to post at least a chapter everyday until I am better. Please bear with me. Thank you all so much for reading and supporting my stories. Love you guys.❤️
Once Williams was taken to the police station, he was given the opportunity to make a phone call. News of his arrest had already spread around the station since the order had come from the police chief. One of the policemen who was on his payroll informed Williams's lawyer of his arrest, asking him to come quickly so Williams could be bailed out. When the policeman got closer to Williams, he secretly informed him that the plan was to make him spend the rest of his life in prison. The request had come from Zach and he was best friends with the police chief. When he heard this, Williams gritted his teeth and for the first time, he felt a deep hatred for Zach. He also blamed Barbie since all his plans got ruined, thanks to her.In spite of everything, if he had married her, he would have spared her for betraying him. He would have only used her to further his plans but he would have ensured that their child had a good life.He thought about who to call. Hailey was useless to him at this
When they arrived at the police station, Barbie said to Luke, "Please wait in the car while I go in and see Williams briefly.""Are you sure you'll be alright?" He asked. She nodded and went into the station. When she met Williams, he seemed calm and sad, as opposed to the anxious man who desperately wanted to marry her earlier. His hands were handcuffed before she was allowed to get close to him.Her heart bled, seeing how pitiful he looked but she knew that she wasn't in a position to stop what he was going through, especially because he deserved it."Hi," she said to him.He nodded, "Hey, Barbie. Thanks for coming. I had no one else to call. Everyone has deserted me, except you.Barbie, please help me. If I spend the rest of my life here, my company and everything else I've worked for, all my life, will be gone.I want to support our child and that company belongs to him or her. If you fight by my side, we will overcome this, Barbie. We will get married afterward and be one happy f
Luke drove Barbie to a restaurant where Paige and Zach were waiting to meet her. Paige had chosen the location because it was closer to the lake where she had earlier been with Zach. She wanted to make it easier for Zach to continue with his plans after Barbie left. "What do you think Barbie wants to say about Lina?" She asked Zach.He shook his head, "I have no idea. I'm pretty sure it's not something good though. If it were, Barbie would not have said she would tell you in person."Paige sighed and at this time, Luke's car pulled up in front of the restaurant."You've had quite an eventful day," Luke said to Barbie. She nodded, "Yeah, I guess you're right.""Try not to get yourself too worked up, okay? Do not forget your condition and what the doctor said about getting sufficient rest," he added with a caring tone.Barbie flashed him a smile, "Thank you very much, Luke, for everything you've done for me today. I know that you probably had so many better things you could have done,
Barbie hurried out of the restaurant and towards the road to get a cab. She was feeling very nauseous and dizzy. She had initially wanted to explain how she was feeling to Zach and Paige. However, seeing the effect Lina's actions had on Paige, she decided to quickly go back home and get enough rest. The doctor had also advised it, and it was what Luke had been worried about. She quickly stopped a cab, got into it, and gave the driver her home address.Meanwhile, Zach held Paige's hand as they walked out of the restaurant. When they got into his car, Paige said, "I need to speak to my dad first.""Okay," Zach replied. He called Melvin, and Paige asked, "Dad, are you and Mom at home?"Melvin said, "Yeah, we're about to go out to have dinner. Is everything okay?""No, there's no problem," she replied. "I'm coming home right now, please just give me a few minutes. I'll be there soon. You both can go out after.""Of course, Princess. It's fine; we'll wait," Melvin replied. As they drove ba
Paige scoffed, "Make Zach yours? Williams told you to help him destroy my wedding, so he would help you get Zach? You mean you still had your eyes on my fiancé? How dare you?"Paige rushed towards Lina, wanting to slap her again. However, this time, Melvin's voice rang loud as he ordered, "That is enough! Enough, both of you."Both Paige and Lina turned and stared at him.Lina said, "Dad, I'm sorry. I am telling you the whole truth. I really wanted the best for Paige; I never planned to do anything evil. Williams met me, he said a lot, and he capitalized on my weakness; he said... he messed with my mind, and I let him lure me.""Shut up," Paige said. "Stop trying to make excuses. You? A tramp like you who was having sex with two guys in your college at the same time? Oh yes, Lina, I know all about your cheap ways, and I know just how disgusting you are, and you expected that someone like my Zach would end up with a tramp like you?""Hold on, Paige," Melvin said, "I know you're upset,
Saturday came in a flash, and it was already time for Paige and Zach's wedding.During the days leading up to the wedding, they spent a lot of time together, going to quiet places to be alone and enjoying each other's company. All Paige could talk about was the wedding and what was going to happen afterward, and most of the time, Zach just stared at her, smiling and paying attention to everything she was saying. What excited him even more than the wedding was how happy Paige was because she was getting married to him. It meant so much to him.During this time, Barbie and Luke also got closer. He called her over the phone in the morning, afternoon, and evening to check up on her and to find out how her baby was doing. He also picked her up once to go to the hospital to meet the doctor and run a few tests, since her constant nausea made it difficult for her to drive. Now that the wedding day finally arrived, Paige was beside herself with joy, but she was also afraid because of her past
The hotel where Zach and Paige's wedding was to take place, was surrounded by security personnel whom Zach had arranged to be there. Zach had booked the hotel for the whole weekend, so no one was allowed to lodge there or hold any other occasion at the hotel during the time his wedding to Paige was going on.Security personnel were crawling at the gates, both outside and inside the hotel, and the room Zach stayed in was directly opposite Paige's room. There were still security personnel, about four of them, outside the room, as well as Paige's bodyguard. While Zach was inside his room getting ready with Luke, Paige was in the room opposite also getting ready. She had ear pods in her ears as Zach wanted to be in communication with her all through the time they were apart. Inside Paige's room, Barbie and Vanessa got ready as well. All the people who got Paige ready were allowed to go into the room two at a time because Zach did not want the room to be clustered with people, but Paige
Zach got ready after donning a custom-made black suit. A few pictures were taken of him together with Luke before they came out of his hotel room.At this point, another photographer was taking pictures of Paige in her hotel room.Zach walked to the end of the hotel wing and stood there, waiting for her. After about three minutes, she came out with her veil covering her face.He stared at her, his eyes shimmering with delight and his heart filled with a sense of pride because she belonged to him. She exuded timeless elegance in her exquisite wedding gown, its lace cascading down in delicate patterns, catching the light in a mesmerizing dance. The fabric flowed gracefully, embracing her silhouette with a touch of opulence. Her hair, carefully coiffed, framed her face in loose waves, adorned with a tiara that glimmered like starlight. Her makeup was a work of art, enhancing her features with a soft, natural radiance, and emphasizing her eyes with a hint of shimmering eyeshadow. Eve
CORAAs we were rescued out of the elevator, Reign requested a stretcher for me. At this point, Lucas' men in black suit who had been chasing me, all rushed towards me, wanting to take me away even in my condition.Reign lost it and punched the first man who touched me. He landed on his back and lost consciousness. All the other men moved back, shocked by his action.I turned and stared at him, surprised at how strong he was. A small crowd had already gathered and they were all staring in surprise. Reign looked disheveled and his shirt was soaked with sweat, completely different from how he looked when I first saw him.I was so weak that I could barely move my body. I could not understand how he could still act as though nothing happened to him. Right before I was wheeled into the van, I mumbled a 'thank you,' to him and he smiled.I didn't know if I would ever see him again and the chances of our paths crossing again were almost zero. I sadly closed my eyes and waited for the van to m
CORAWhen I was pulled into the elevator and found out it was by Reign Fletcher, I could not believe my eyes. How could I? The Fletchers were the wealthiest family in London. His mother, Paige Fletcher was a music legend and it was no secret that she was spoiled silly by her husband who loved her more than anything else in the world. Tiffany Fletcher, Reign's sister was a popular singer who was just like her mother. She was presently on tour and I was one of her die-hard fans.Reign was the different one who was believed to be enigmatic, avoided the media, and rarely granted interviews. There were no scandals about him and even though people knew a lot about the other Fletchers, he was the exception. What were the odds that someone like him would be kind enough to value a life like mine? When he gave me mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and I opened my eyes, it was as though I saw the face of an angel sent to me from above. I was awestruck by his kindness and humility. What I was going thr
REIGNI walked into SUN INDUSTRIES with a smile on my face and a bouquet of roses to see Lisa, my girlfriend. Our mothers were best friends and had been so since their youth. Both families were so close that Lisa and I practically grew up together. She was the closest person to me and when we both got into college, I confessed my feelings to her and she accepted to be my girlfriend. Our families were so happy about it and our marriage was inevitable. One of the things I loved about Lisa was her drive. She was so passionate about work, yet reserved and hardworking. She took over SUN INDUSTRIES from her blood father, Williams Sun, who was released from prison years ago, and in no time, she took the company to much greater heights. The excitement on my face died when I arrived at her office and learned she wasn't around. We had agreed to meet at three and I was a very punctual person.I dialed her number and when she answered the call, she said, "I am so sorry, Reign. Something important
SEQUEL TO MY LITTLE SUNSHINE On the same day I got married, I learned a heartbreaking truth; I was merely a substitute; a stand-in bride for my husband's beloved. My dreams and feelings didn't matter to anyone but me.In the eyes of the public, I was his wife but at home, I had to live as a furniture and a prisoner.Refusing to live such a miserable life, I ran, faster than I had ever done in my entire life, but then, I found myself walking on thin ice.I was on the brink of a precipice when someone reached out his hand and gave me a lifeline. He was Reign Fletcher, and he became my everything.~~~CORAShe bumped into my life unexpectedly, and suddenly, what started out as an accident became the most important moment of my life. I never understood what it felt like to love someone else more than you do yourself until I met Cora Gilbert.~~~~REIGN
CORAI stared at the red lacy lingerie in front of me and blushed shyly. After hesitating for a while, I finally put it on and laid on the king-sized bed, assuming a sexy posture.Twenty minutes later, my husband, Lucas Grey, walked into the room and when he saw me, a look of surprise appeared on his face. I thought it was because I was putting on sexy lingerie, and I felt embarrassed, blaming myself for allowing my best friend, Emily talk me into such foolishness. I learned quickly that I thought wrong."What the hell are you doing in my bedroom?" Lucas thundered, his voice completely different from that of the man I had married a few hours ago.I sat upright and was about to speak when he ordered, "Get out of this room right now."I instantly got off the bed but rather than leave, I asked, "What is wrong, Lucas? Why are you speaking to me so disrespectfully?"He snorted, "Disrespectfully? I am appalled by your shamelessness. Why would you come into my bedroom, and that too dressed l
EIGHT MONTHS LATERPaige sat lazily on the sofa while Zach stood beside her with a briefcase in his hand."Are you sure you're feeling okay?" he asked. She nodded, "Yes, I am okay. you can leave."Zach had an important meeting, but he was reluctant to leave Paige. Ever since she got far along in her pregnancy, she became easily irritated and threw tantrums. Although he knew she tried her best not to make things difficult for him, sometimes she just couldn't help her condition.Susan had, on one occasion, said something that irritated her, and she told Zach she did not want to see Susan anymore. So, Zach immediately fired Susan. However, she pleaded repeatedly for another chance, saying it was a mistake, and Paige felt sorry for her. So she told Zach to let her go for the time being and only allow her back after she had given birth. In her place, Zach brought four more people to attend to Paige. two were nurses, and the other two were maids; these ones were always at Paige's beck and c
Two Months LaterZach sat down with his eyes blindfolded and a wide smile plastered on his face. The two months he had spent with Paige enjoying their honeymoon in Paris turned out to be the best time of his life. They had so many fun and loving activities together, but the most exciting was that they took turns surprising each other. Every day, he was either giving Paige a surprise or she was giving him a surprise. He was a little sad that their honeymoon was about to come to an end, and they had to go back to London to begin their life and face the world as a couple.Barbie's wedding to Luke was coming up in two days, so they had to leave before then, especially since she had chosen Paige to be her chief bridesmaid."I'm still waiting," he said to Paige, and she smiled, "You're not allowed to cheat. Do not take the blindfold off unless you get a signal from me."Zach raised his hands, "Yes, your highness. As you can see, I have no intention of cheating."Paige quickly set the stage
Candy kept staring at Paige, wondering why she had come to her wedding. She also recognized Barbie and Luke. Her eyes went lower to Zach and Paige's hands, which were intertwined. Seeing their rings and how fondly they held each other, she became teary-eyed and looked away.Meanwhile, Paige was busy staring at the different guests who had arrived. She spotted Anthony; Candy's father, and the moment they made eye contact, he quickly looked away and whispered some words into Beverly's ears. After they were joined together, people began to congratulate the couple, but Candy's face showed nothing but unhappiness. Zach, still holding Paige's hand, took her towards Damon to congratulate him, while Candy went to her parents. When they met Damon, Paige smiled at him and said, "Congratulations, Damon." He smiled back, "You must be Paige, the little angel who captured Zach's heart." Paige chuckled while he added, "I guess congratulations are in order too. You both got married just a few days
The next day, Barbie and Luke sat facing each other when they went out on the date Barbie had agreed to go on.Luke was staring at her, and she was smiling, but her heart was racing because she had no idea what he was going to say."I have something to say," she finally decided to break the silence. "The thing is, ever since that day I ran into your car, you have been exceptionally nice and caring towards me, and I was under the impression that Zach asked you to look after me.Paige had told me back then that she and Zach would support me in my pregnancy journey. So I came to that conclusion since you work for him, but I got to hear from Paige yesterday that Zach never asked you to look after me.This is what has been on my mind since then. I mean, if Zach did not ask you to look after me, then why have you been doing things like calling me, checking up on me, and caring for me? Do you perhaps feel sorry for me?"Luke chuckled, "Sorry for you? Come on, Barbie, you should know that can
