Chapter83

Mia's POV.

I sat on my seat, anger filling my being. I knew that alpha couldn't be trusted, but I was desperate. I didn't like the fact that something else was going on.

I didn't know what was going on.

He was only supposed to get the girl, but then it seemed he had other plans In mind.

I didn't go on the day of the invasion, and decided to go check on the shadow moon pack the next day. However, when I got there, I saw people trying to check whatever was left from the pack which was torn down.

My eyes widened, and I rushed towards some of the pack members who were crying over their loss.

“E-excuse me,” I stammered. “What happened here?” I asked, trying to understand what was going on.

My heart was drumming faster than usual, and the need to know what happened took over me.

The woman, and men looked at me with pain in their eyes, but none of them wanted to speak out. I could tell it was because of the pain they felt.

“Our pack was attacked, and as you can see, we lost everything!” She sounded, feeling really unhappy about the whole thing.

I swallowed, hoping it wasn't what I was thinking. Aric had the permission to destroy the pack, but he had no right to touch my man.

“What about the Alpha?” I questioned, having a bit of faith. I would rather not think Aric was bold enough to go against my orders.

I was bold enough to know what he wasn't able to do anything else.

The people didn't say a word, almost like they were ignoring my words.

Feeling angered by their silence, I asked again. “What about alpha Lucian!”

It was then one of the ladies said something that caught my attention.

“He helped us escape. He made sure the men of the enemy alpha didn't get to us, but we don't know where he is now.”

The way he said it made me terrified. I didn't know what else to do at this point.

The fact that they all said they didn't know where Lucian was scared me to death.

“Please… You can't tell me that Lucian's dead, please….” She continued to beg with tears in her eyes. There was no doubt that something was indeed wrong.

I stayed there with tears in my eyes until I wasn't able to contain it anymore. I didn't even know what else to do at any point. All I knew was that something good was coming.

My heart skipped a beat, and I knew something was obviously wrong. I couldn't make out what Aric had done, but I knew it was something bad.

Suddenly, I noticed one injured guards waking towards us. He had his hands on his stomach, and a woman yelled out his name, rushing to go meet him.

“James!” She cried out, holding him so close to her chest. She must be his wife, or lover.

My eyes turned dark. I knew he was a pack guard who must have accompanied Lucian.

“James!” I yelled, rushing to go meet him, which made the lady clench on to him tightly. She thought I was trying to take her man.

“Tell me, were you with Lucian? What happened to the alpha, tell me!”

The moment I said that, the lady who sat close to him snapped at me.

“Can't you see he's hurt?” Tears filled her eyes.

I ignored her words, moving closer to him.

“What happened to Lucian, and I'll be able to help you ease your pain,” I explained with a smile on my face, pulling out a mixture made by the best healer.

I had brought it with me because I thought Lucian might be hurt, but nah that Lucian was nowhere to be found, I could as well help the servant.

“Lucian…” He trailed, coughing out blood. “Lucian fell off a cliff when fighting the enemy alpha. I was the only survivor from the fight who wasn't taken away by Aric. I guess they thought I was dead,” James explained, taking a deep breath.

Once he explained that, I frowned. My eyes turned dark, and I knew what I had to do.

My teeth gnashed against each other, and my heart drummed like crazy. I gave James the potion, and left the place without looking back.

Once I got back to the club, I locked myself in my dresser, and cried like there was no tomorrow. I had imagined myself being his wife with our three kids.

I loved Lucian, and was ready to go to any extent for him, but I seemed like they were all gone.

I was angry. I felt my heart wanting to leave my chest. Once I had cried enough, I decided to do what I needed. I started plotting ways to enter into their lives, and cause them nothing, but pain.

I wasn't going to be the one to be hurt. I was going to make sure I made them pay.

Aric, and Kira both caused me pain, and I would make sure it gave them back the same treatment.

I didn't care how that was going to happen. Kira would wish for death, but won't find it.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and when I didn't respond, the knock continued.

“Who is it!” I yelled, obviously frustrated by the whole thing I had found out.

“The boss wants to speak to you. She says it's important,” A familiar female voice replied, making me frown.

I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone, but since it was my boss calling, I already knew why she was calling me.

She was probably going to ask why I didn't come out yesterday. I knew it, but I wasn't willing to speak.

“You will pay Kira. I'm quitting

this job, and I'll put all my effort into making sure you wished you weren't born!”
