As soon as I entered the restaurant, my eyes landed on Dustin, waving at me from a corner table. Once I reached in him, he pulled out the chair for me and I sat down. He then seated himself in front of me and passed me his

charming smile. 

"You look beautiful." He smiled and a muscle in my chest clenched. He wasn't supposed to say things like that, not when we were trying to adjust as friends.

"You too," I said and then coughed to clear my throat. "I mean, you look handsome, not beautiful."

He chuckled at my words and then picked up the menu card. "So, should we order something? The waiter has been staring at me for quite some time," he asked.

"Sure. One steak, medium well," I said to the waiter.

"Same for me," he said to the waiter and then turned his attention to me.
