Eaden raised his brows and snickered. "Come on, Mr. Jacka, it isn't as bad as you said. I've always been an honest man, so I would never trick you like that!"

With that, he turned to Howard and said with much respect, "Thanks for coming, Mr. Mosier!"

Howard nodded, then glanced surreptitiously at Liam and finally turned his attention back to Quentin. "What were you trying to do here, Mr. Jacka?"

Quentin was beside himself with rage, but there was nothing else he could do. He stared back at Howard. Then, after a moment's hesitation, he finally bowed at Howard and replied, "This is all just a misunderstanding, Mr. Mosier! I wasn't trying to do anything in particular. We were just joking around!"

Howard sneered. "Joking around? Very well then. Since you're joking around, I'm sure you won't mind coming with us to the police station for a while, right?"
