"Hold it right there!" Nevaeh stepped forward, blocking Liam's way. Then, without missing a beat, she swung her leg, aiming straight at Liam's shoulder.

She was utterly infuriated! How dare Liam attempt to assault a civilian right under her nose and think he could get away with it?

She snarled, "I never said you could leave!"

Liam raised his brows in slight amusement when he saw her foot soaring through the air toward him. Instead of ducking, however, he grabbed hold of her ankle in mid-air and said, grinning mischievously, "Officer Scott, as nice as I've been to you, you should know that I have my limits. I'm not always so patient."

Nevaeh was now wobbling precariously, trying to balance on one leg as Liam gripped her other. She writhed, trying to pry herself free. "Let go of me!" she shrieked as she thrashed wildly, but Liam's grip was as solid as a rock.

This only infuriated Nevaeh more, for aside from just keeping her in this strange position, Liam was beginning to eye her i
