Chapter 24: Miscarriage

I slowly opened my eyes, confused about my location. Looking around, I realized I was in the hospital. I feel so weak, like there's something wrong within me.

"Thank God, you're awake now," Chelsea said. Behind her was Dylan.

"M-My baby? What happened to my baby?" She approached, holding my hand, and remained silent. I placed my hand on my belly. I noticed the way they exchange glances. My heart beat faster, I don't want to think that I lost my child.

"Chelsea, speak up! I'm asking you! Is my baby okay?" They exchanged more worried glances. I tried to sit up, but Chelsea restrained me.

"What's going on? Why won't you answer me?" I stared at Chelsea, and suddenly, she started to sob. When I looked at Dylan, he averted his gaze.

"D-Dianna... Your baby didn't make it." I pulled my hand away from Chelsea. I feel my throat go dry. My eyes fill with tears as my body goes numb. A sob escapes from my mouth. Chelsea move closer to me and holds me tight. I bury myself into her shoulder. My bo
