There were a few open books lying on the table. Carl Black was busy reading those books and making notes in his study. It seemed that he was lost in the world of books. In the meantime, his phone rang. But he was so engrossed in his work that he didn't look at the caller ID when he answered the call, "Hello."
There was a silence on the other end for a few moments. He didn't care about it and kept the phone on the table without disconnecting it. He started working again as if nothing had happened. He even didn't glance at the phone.
Several minutes later, the phone again rang. This time he didn't pick up the phone. The phone kept ringing until the end of the ringtone and finally stopped. A few minutes later, the phone rang again. This time also he did the same thing. He answered the call without looking at it, "Hello."

At the end of the day, Lisa's mood was lightened a little. She was about to go back home, but her steps froze when she heard Anna Green calling her from behind. She turned back and saw her approaching her, "What happened to you today? You were so busy that you didn't even come for lunch. I came to call you but when I saw you busy, I left. I thought you will come later." Since morning, Lisa was so upset that she buried her head with her work to avoid the discomfort in her heart. She lost her appetite and didn’t go for lunch. Lisa felt even more uncomfortable to face her inquisitive gaze. She didn't want to tell her what happened between Carl Black and her. She opened her mouth to say something, but before that Anna Green started saying, "Let's go to the cafe. We will sit there and chat, OK?"
At night, Carl Black dialed Lisa's number. The call was connected after a few rings, "Are you free now?" "Hmm... Have you eaten dinner?" "Yes. What about you?" "Yes. Are you still angry with me?" There was a short pause. Then he heard her say, "No, I was worried about you. Take care of yourself. Don't go jogging alone, don't go outside often. Be careful while going and coming back from college. You need to...." "Lisa, I am fine. Don't worry." He interrupted her. He went silent for a few seconds and then continued, "Are you free tomorrow?" "Why?" "I want to spend time with you."
20 minutes ago Jasmine Brown was sipping wine while waiting for Daniel Brooke who went to the restroom. Meanwhile, she received a call from an unknown number. After looking at the screen for some time, she finally answered the call, "Hello." She heard a deep male voice from the other end of the phone, "Hello, Miss Brown. I am Henry. Is Boss with you? I can't reach his number. Can I talk to him?" She laughed softly and replied, "Oh Henry, is that you? Yeah, Daniel has gone to the restroom. I will tell him to call you back." "Thank you, Miss Brown. Sorry to disturb you." The call ended with that. She waited for another 10 minutes but still, he didn't get back. She decided to go
After dinner, Carl Black came out of the restaurant, holding Lisa's hand. They got in the car and sat down. He looked at her and asked softly, "Are you feeling better?" She only nodded in response, looking at her fingers on her lap. He felt heartache to see her so quiet. He didn't know how to cheer her up. When he thought how helpless she might have been feeling when Daniel Brooke mistreated her, his blood boiled in anger. His grip around the steering wheel tightened. At that moment, he wanted to beat Daniel Brooke to death. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth to endure the brewing anger inside him. After a while, he opened his eyes and started the engine. Lisa leaned back on the seat, closing her eyes. She was exhausted. She wanted to go home as soon as possible. The journey was very quiet. No one opened their mouths.
Lisa's sleep was disturbed by the bright sunlight coming through the crack of the curtains. She rubbed her eyes and opened them slowly. She lazily set up on the bed, yawning widely. When she saw the bright sunshine she realized that she overslept. "Oh no, I am late. Aaa choo...." She grabbed the phone to see the time, but she found out that the call was still connected. Her eyes went wide in surprise. She remembered Carl Black telling her last night that he wouldn't disconnect the call until she fell asleep. She put the phone on her ear to check if he was still on the line or not. The moment she kept the phone in her ear, she heard his familiar deep voice, "Good morning, love." She was startled and was about to jum
Jasmine Brown was lying flat on her bed, staring at the ceiling. The entire night she didn't close her eyes for a second. The memories of last night were flashing over and over again in her mind. Knock… Knock A knock on the door snatched her out of her trance. She was irritated by the disturbance. She shouted with annoyance, "Who is that?" The maid who came to call her trembled slightly. She then responded in a panicked tone, "Young miss, Mr. Alex has come to meet you." "Alright." She got up from the bed and went out of her room lazily. She had been waiting for him since last night. When Alex D'
Daniel Brooke was unaware that someone was capturing his every movement in the camera. When they came out of the warehouse, that person took out his phone, called someone, and talked mysteriously. He left the place quietly after passing the information. The next day, Daniel Brooke came back to 'X' city. His men arranged a house in the countryside to keep Neil Green. They had done this so secretly that the people who were following them couldn't track them at all. Michael Harrison was pacing back and forth in his study room. His expression was sinister. His eyes were bloodshot, and his body language was murderous. Kyle Kings was standing quietly, hanging down his head. His men were searching for the informer ever since the court had given a verdict against Albert Harris
Soon the car reached his penthouse. Lisa was too terrified to get out of the car. She only looked at Daniel Brooke speechlessly. She saw him opening the door for her. But she stubbornly looked up at him and didn't go out of the car. Daniel Brooke lowered his head to undone the seat belt and carried her horizontally. His movement was so swift and fast that she didn't get any time to react. When she regained her senses, she was already in his arms. She wriggled around and yelled angrily, "What are you doing? Put me down, put me down." He hugged her tightly and said, "Don't move, you may fall." He then started walking with long strides. Lisa understood that she couldn't win with him, so she stopped moving. The corner of his lips curled up slightly when he saw her being so
