Brielle's POV

I was standing in front of the school after my grandparents dropped me off. Blue Ridge High School. They both wanted to come with me so I don't feel alone. I liked the idea so I had no problem with it. It made this whole transition a little less lonely. Now that they were gone I felt out of place. I was thinking about whether I should go inside or runoff. I watched as students were walking inside, chatting and laughing.

Well, it was not anything new. I didn't have any friends besides Tony. I sighed and began walking inside. The halls were filled with students who seemed to take notice of the new girl town...or school.

Come on Brie. Don't be nervous. There is nothing to be scared of. Don't look anyone in the eye just walk through. I tightened the strap of my bag pack and went through the crowd that parted as the sea did for Moses. Whispers about speculations about my identity were heard but I made it my mission to get to the principal's office. Thank God I was not wearing anything uncomfortable. I was wearing a mesh oversized tee with a bra, straight jeans, and Nike sneakers.

I picked the outfit out in the morning because I forgot last night. I was too engrossed in my mother's diary. I couldn't put the first one down, I ended up reading through them all. All I can say after that is that, love changes. Happily ever afters doesn't happen for everyone. They were not made for each other after all.

I somehow found myself standing in from of the principal's office. I took a breath and knocked on the door. I heard an indistinct voice telling me to come in.

I opened the door and entered the office. I was met by a middle-aged woman in a two-piece formal suit, a tight ponytail, and rimmed glasses on the bridge of a very straight nose. The scowl on her face looks permanent. I swallowed my nerves.

" Who might you be," she asks straight to the point.

" My name is Brielle Johnson and I just transferred here for my Senior year."

She pressed the intercom. " Priscilla. Get somebody to come to my office," she barked startling me. I've never heard a woman sound so rough.

Priscilla on the other side calmly agreed on sounding like was too used to the tone the principal used. I could never be used to that without getting an ear bleed. I stood awkwardly fidgeting with my fingers and shifting my weight between both legs. I was afraid to take a seat and wait because of this lady's no-nonsense attitude. She would chew me out so I remained standing as she kept going through some papers in front of her like I wasn't even in the room.

A few minutes later, the door opened behind me and I turned to see who it was. A boy, who is about 6ft tall stood before me with a goofy smile on his.

" You! What are you doing here? I didn't call for you," the principal admonished him with a scowl.

" I didn't want to come either but I heard there was a new girl in school so I thought I would come and see her," he replied with a smirk, his willful gaze focusing my way.

I got a chance to inspect him. He is a tall lean guy. His hair was short. His brown eyes shamelessly stared at me making me uncomfortable but I didn't show him that. He was wearing a black sleeveless shirt, brown cargo shorts, and Jordan sneakers.

" Take a picture babe. It lasts longer," he teased me.

" I wasn't starting," I say defensively

" Sure sure. Anyway, why did you call me here," he says taking his attention back to the principal.

" Show the girl around and you better behave yourself or I'll extend your punishment by a month."

" Yes, mam. It would my pleasure." He eagerly opened the door and gestured for me to walk out first. We walked down the halls with him beside me. He caught me off guard when he threw his arm around me.

" So, I see a new face in a very long time. Does the face have a name?" he asks. I roughly remove his arm and move away from him.

" My name is Brielle Johnson and I would appreciate it if you focused on the task at hand."

He smiles mischievously. " Mmh, straight to the point are we? Alright then, I'll do as you wish."

With that, he showed me around the school without doing anything inappropriate. I was surprised by that. He came off as someone who would not listen to someone easily. I thought I would have to kick him on the shin or slap him a few times but I guess this went alright. The last stop was my class which was English.

" Here you are," he says. " I hope I was of assistance to you. I'll be gone now." He left me standing at the door just like that. No funny remarks or mischief. He was acting really strange to the person I saw the first time. As I said, he didn't really strike me as some who is obedient. I shook off my thoughts. Whatever it is, it has nothing to do with me.

I entered the class and as expected, everyone stared at me like I was another species. I went over to the teacher and informed her that I was the new student.

" Class. Please welcome Miss Brielle Johnson. She is a transfer student."

The class went quiet and all they did was stare. I was already nervous so I took the initiative to introduce myself. I couldn't just continue standing there like a frozen chicken.

" Uh... Hello everyone. My name is Brielle Johnson and I just moved here from Clairefield. I hope I am welcome to this school we all get along. Thank you."

Brief and simple. I didn't want yo drag it out to hobbies and what nots

No one said anything and just kept staring at me while others whispered amongst themselves about me. I was used to this so I wasn't at all bothered.

" You can go take a seat, Miss. You are welcome," the teacher says a little embarrassed by the student's behavior. The back seats of the class were unoccupied so I went to seat over there. The rest of the class was a blur. I was beginning to feel out of place. The other students looked at me and whispered among themselves. I said I wasn't bothered but still, I hated to be the topic of discussion. If someone's got something to say about me, it's me they should say it too.

The bell rang signaling lunchtime. I followed the other students to the full cafeteria. As you can imagine in any school, there are hierarchical groups. The popular group consisting of insanely handsome boys and barbie girls in slutty clothes. The nerds who bring books to the table, weirdos who look like they are going through a lot. The athletic crew that is howling and hooting. And then loners like me who wish to be anywhere else but here. I made my way to the counter and got myself a cheeseburger and a soda with a mini fruit salad.

I took my tray of food and went to an empty table trying my best to avoid the eyes that are almost burning holes at me. Right now I wish I was invisible. I decided to zone out and just eat my meal. It was all going well and everyone was finally minding their own business. That's until I saw a shadow before and my piece was disturbed. I slowly raised my head to see who stand in front of me.

My eyes went up to the figure clad in black jeans to a graphic shirt. My eyes ended up locking with golden brown eyes. I leaned back to get a clear view. My mouth unconsciously opened in shock. His full pink lips were begging for attention. His jaw was sharp as a knife. Standing in front of me was the most handsome boy I'd seen since I stepped into this town. I was making it obvious that I was mesmerized but I just couldn't help it. As if my reaction was involuntary.

" Mate!" he growled out to me. What the hell? Did he just growl? I couldn't say anything to the guy. I probably looked like a fish out of water. What is wrong with me? I never act this thirsty over a boy no matter how good-looking they are. So why am I acting like this. Through the corner of my eyes, I could see that this scene had gained everyone's attention. Something I don't want on my freaking first day of school. Oh, great. Just what I needed.

I shook my head and got a hold of myself. I was about to tell the boy off but something strange happened again. I beautiful girl came over to my table standing next to the unknown boy and glared at me viciously. If looks could kill, I would be no more. What's with her anyway? What's with the both of them?

" We need to talk," she say firmly to the guy in front of me, without leaving space for argument and drags him away. I look behind me to see them exist the cafeteria. I am confused and annoyed as hell. What was that about? I don't need that damn drama. Whatever that was.

Brielle's POV5 years later"Yay! Mommy I did it, I did it!" River jumped up and down in joy after scoring a goal. Blake ran towards him and picked him up and placed him on his shoulder and spun him around." Good shot my boy! You are a super star!" Blake said to river.Mia got on her feet as well. She pulled me and said, " Mommy, I want to kick the ball too. I can do it too."I smiled at her knowing where this was going. Typical little Mia. Ever since she was born, she seemed to be on her own path. She didn't want to be her brother's little sister. She wanted to be older and better than him. Her competitiveness was cute but a little concerning at time.I remember one time she and River were climbing a tree in the garden. They were competing on who could go higher than the other. Of course River was going to win. She did something surprising. She pulled River's leg and he lost his balance and fell off the tree, breaking his arm.I was so shocked that day I didn't know what to do. She

5 months laterBrielle's POVI didn't know that pregnancy would be such a pain. Mood swings, swollen feet, cravings, back pain, you name it. I never thought one of those pregnant ladies who got emotional over every little thing or get weird cravings but guess what, I am. The other day, I wanted a raw mango. Later it was mint chocolate. I hate mint. It tastes like fucking toothpaste but now that I craved it, I suddenly couldn't get enough of it.My feet got swollen a lot and Blake loved giving me a massage. When I cried and cursed him out for getting pregnant, he never lost his patience with me. Instead, he gathered me in his arms as best as he could and would let me chew him out but in the end, he would whisper sweet nothings into my ear, telling how beautiful I am and how lucky he was to have me. That made me feel a lot better. The garden was my favourite place these days. Just sitting on a rocking chair under the tree watching other little kids running around carefree made my heart

  • My Human Mate   Chapter 126

Blake's POVIt's been an hour since I came down as my mother requested. I was sitting amongst everyone but my mind was back with Brielle. Each moment spent away from her, I he'd back from running back to her. I was so lost, everything happening in front of me was a blur. I couldn't be there anymore. I was too restless and it wasn't helping. VI excused myself and made my way upstairs. Opening the door to my room I thought I would find Brielle still laying on the bed but she was no where. I went inside in alarm. Where is she? I looked around the room wandering if she had finally regained consciousness. If she did, where is she? Where did she go without anyone noticing? In what condition is she in?I was about to go search for outside but I heard water running in bathroom. I looked in the direction of the bathroom. She must be in there. I went there and went inside. She had her back facing me. I felt all kinds of emotions flowing through me as I thought my eyes were deceiving me. Not un

Brielle's POV" Relax. I'm not here for that."No soul? Then what? What would a demon be doing here if not to come and collect what he is owed? That is not really what concerns me at the moment. I want to survive. I can't leave yet." What do you want. Tell me!" I acted tough. I can't show that I am scared." Must you always think the worst of me? I came all the way here to help you," he said to me sounding a little offended.I couldn't make out whether he was serious or just pulling my leg for fun. Right now, I am desperate and I am afraid that what ever dispicable schemes that Kael came with, I might just fall for. But at this point, what could be worse than promising him my soul?I decided to hear him out. It's not like I have any other choice anyway." Fine. I'll listen to what you have to say. I warn you that I am not in a tolerant mood so this better be worth it."He snickered." I might be a demon from he but I'm not as bad as you think. No matter. We will have all the time in

  • My Human Mate   Chapter 124

2 weeks laterBlake's POVI was sitting beside Brielle as she slept peacefully. It's been a very rough fortnight. Ever since that night, everything has been bleak. As the days go by without any change from her I get scared. The baby is fine but Brielle won't wake up. I am afraid that she might stay in such a state for a long time. What of our child. She might not get to see the baby be born. I was at a dead end in what to do. I blame myself. I should have tried with my all to stop her from performing that darned ceremony. It almost cost her life. For all those days, I refused to leave her side. Anything could happen and I don't want to be away. I stayed in the room all day and had my meals sent here. I made sure that it doesn't get suffocating. I opened the windows during the day and let fresh air come in during the day, I handle everything she needed and I wasn't comfortable with letting other people do it.I always made sure to talk to her hoping that she can hear me and hang on to

  • My Human Mate   Chapter 123

Brielle's POVIt was now the moment we have been waiting for. This part of the ritual had to be done by me. Now that we have acquired the hell fire, it was time I do what I was meant to do so we can finally part ways with Julian and Xavier." Deceiving us was wrong, Kyra but I'll consider that you ultimately helped us in the end. Let us complete the final step and then all of us will then go our sepernt ways."" Thank you for understanding. I will find a way in the future to repay you."We went to another room with Julian and Xavier with us.I had the flame with me and it's still surreal that I went through such lengths to get it. I wasn't going to complain. My soul doesn't matter if it means that I get to keep my family safe and ensures that we do not suffer the same tragedy all of over again. No matter how had I tried, I couldn't bring myself to have faith in their word. It was my mistake back then. This is just Rte price to fix it." Alright. What do I need to do to get get this ov
