IRIS'S POV:They spent the evening laughing, talking and even shared a kiss. It was totally unbelievable and disgusting. I had left the restaurant in irritation lying to Simon that I wasn't feeling too well.“I mean Tristan and I only shared a one night stand and nothing really deep but I knew his wife wasn't good to him. I don't even think he's trying to make me jealous because there's no way he could have known I was going to be at your husband's restaurant that night. Tristan is just a child, he is so immature and if I ever see him, I am going to rip his head off.” Mariana concluded her narration with anger radiating off her body, like she was relieving the whole evening again.“I can't even defend him because his ex-wife's constant embarrassment, cheating, yelling at him all contributed to why he was drinking so much and even went to the bar that night and met you. I'm going to get to the bottom of this, to protect him from getting hurt and used again by that woman.” I told her, a
3RD POV:COMPETITION:“Introducing the judges for the season 2 of this competition. The head judge, who is the most handsome and successful chef in the whole world and a model to many young children all over the world, is the Chef Jonathan Knight!” It was announced and the audience clapped while a few people in the audience made a ‘boo’ sound which infuriated Jamie and Iris, Jamie especially who had been furious at the comments being directed at Jonathan and her twin brother. Two nights ago, after over three months of utter silence from the media, and Jonathan putting in effort and dedication into his work, and the media unit of his company putting in effort on ensuring that everyone is tuned in to the competition, pictures of Jonathan, Iris and the twins got leaked with the headline, Who would have thought Jonathan Knight and Iris Fletcher are married with twins? One of the twins is Jason Star Fletcher, who won the last competition. How can we trust the judges who were obviously bia
JONATHAN'S POV:THAT SAME DAY:“I know it must be hard.” One of the chefs from the Eastern part of the world, whispered to me as we all watched Jason and Zedekiah, cook, slicing, dicing, frying, cutting, displaying all the talented ways in which a true talented chef works, and I stared in amazement at the both of them. I watched my son like a proud father because I was one, he had diversified to sports, drama in school and was still excelling. I couldn't even, when I was younger I was solely focused on my culinary skills and later on, tapped into business administration and management. No wonder my father loved my son so much, he always wanted me to do everything a young boy was meant to do and seeing Jason do that had to be like a ‘I told you so’ moment for him to me. However due to the relationship I had with Carl and Tristan, we got into some athletic sports.“Huh?” I was confused on what Chef Kieve meant by his initial statement. He was an extremely talented chef, mastering cooki
JONATHAN'S POV:Mrs Fletcher got a call and she instantly picked, leaving me furious, clenching and unclenching my fist.“I think that fucker Gabriel Thymes has something with this. Probably his friends as well, this was done out of malice not hunger. If not they would have stolen the pipes, and devices. I'm going to talk to my people in Kamela to investigate this, Iris doesn't deserve this.” Tristan spoke out in speculation yet anger and certainty and started dialing his contact's number when Mrs Fletcher returned back to me.“That was my husband, Iris just left and is not picking up her phone.” I heard cheers coming from the audience, my heart beating loudly and at a fast pace.“Tristan, please ensure the kids get up safely and Mum, I assure you I will make sure Iris is alright and protected, but please ensure the twins know their parents are safe, happy and proud of them, especially Jason. I am leaving now.” I spoke to the two of them and they nodded in understanding, grabbed my ke
MARIANA'S POV:AFTER THE COMPETITION:“I don't even want to be here. I might just slit my wrist and end it all.” I muttered to myself and chuckled humourlessly, stepping into my large yet empty apartment. I tossed my keys, and took off my coat, hanging it on its rack.My apartment was white, clean and beautiful. It had about three beautiful rooms, with a living room where I had pictured Miguel and I watching movies and eating popcorn, cuddling and laughing under the white blanket I had purchased which smelt like roses. The kitchen had all the equipment for a standard kitchen, a stove, kitchen utensils all in my favorite color. I was no chef like Jonathan but I planned to learn or have Miguel learn and cook.I shivered as I sipped out of my bottle of wine because this apartment was cold. It had no sort of warmth, it was lonely as much as its owner. I could never have pictured myself lonely and heartbroken at thirty plus. I was no longer in my prime and it was evident in my career and
3RD POV:A WEEK LATER:Iris has had a hectic few weeks and she loved that various elites, innovators and successful men and women had supported the company after the news came out. The Leed family who were competitors had publicly shown their support in uncovering who destroyed such a multi-million project like AquaSolis Haven, especially because they were seen as suspects. Micheal Leed had scheduled a meeting with Iris, as soon as he heard she was back in Kemela. FLASHBACK:“Ma'am, your 2pm just arrived.” Her assistant announced, watching as her boss had her eyes glued to the financial and operations report.“Let them in.” Iris answered absentmindedly, staring long and hard at the figures, and comparing one to another.“Iris Fletcher or do I refer to you as Iris Knight? You left Kemela and became a married woman with twins working on an incredible project while I remained here waiting for you. Isn't that terrific and just sad?” Iris instantly shut her eyes and let out a breath, men
3RD POV:She had dressed in an elegant long gray gown which hugged her curvy body beautifully with a purple heels which bagged her purse and her hair was straightened and styled and her sparkling silver accessories were the icing to her elegance. She had gotten looks of admiration from the other parents and teachers at school, as a few hours was Jamie's swimming tournament and it was spectacular that Jamie had also come first place. Beautiful mother and a hunk of a father and their daughter comes home with the trophy. I want to be a part of their family. Iris had overheard a parent say and she found it quite amusing. “I'm so proud of my niece. I should buy her something cute but I fear Jonathan might have already gotten something similar, he spoils her and I admire it so much.” Sophie answered, touching up her make up and Iris smiled washing up her hands.“You want to have kids?” Iris asked though she already knew the answer. “A whole lot, especially if it's going to be with my Ro
IRIS'S POV:A FEW DAYS LATER:“The twins are so good, the teachers sang praises of them. It's all because of you, you know? You are such an amazing mum, and I'm so happy the kids and I have you.” Jonathan pecked my cheek, and I smiled, tying my robe tightly preparing for tonight. He had gone for the kid's Parent and Teacher conference and this was the first time he had attended something like that and by the look on his face, he was happy caring about his fatherly duties. He had remained confident, dressing handsomely and showing no signs of panic until a few minutes before leaving where he kept asking the most random thing ever.Tonight, however, we were headed to a charity ball hosted by one of the most respectable families who were friends with Mrs Knight, The Brooks. They owned a chocolate company and according to Jonathan, they were competitors with Ezekial and Scarlet's company, but after their company was going under series of investigation, it had lost so much money, consumers
IRIS'S POV:THAT EVENING:“WHY, IRIS? WHY DID YOU GO AND SEE HIM?” Jonathan yelled at me, loosening his tie and I sat on the bed like a little child who was getting scolded.A few hours ago, after leaving the disgusting meeting with Gabriel, I headed straight into a meeting with potential investors and CEO's of a huge technological company who specialized in the production of high end gadgets. They were interested in my projects and commended my company's progress since I became CEO. I excused myself due to the uneasy feeling I had. I picked up my phone and called Jonathan seeing that I had a couple missed calls from him.“Hello—--Iris, where the hell are you and don't lie to me?! I'm on my way to that cafe right now, outside I really don't want to make a scene.” He cut me, sounding extremely angry.“I'm no longer at any cafe, I'm at the restaurant in 24th Street, uptown.” I told him and he hung up afterwards.I completed my meeting with the two men, and after shaking hands with them
3RD POV:A WEEK LATER:“He was let go because there was no evidence against him, and his alibi matched. We should have known he would be of no news. Reports say he sat in the questioning room, silent with a smirk on his face, until his lawyer came and took him away.” Jonathan explained, dressing him in a suit as he had dozens of meetings with sponsors, senior and junior chefs, executives and he was also to be at his father's company for a shareholder's meeting, since he owned large shares he had to be there.“That's totally insane! He's trying to mess with us and I don't like it one bit, especially with the kids involved.” Carl pointed out, over the phone as he was just checking in on Jonathan and the kids.“I don't even want to leave their side for a second but they have school to catch up with and they feel so much better. I need to find out who that woman is and since only Scarlet comes to mind, we have to find her.” Jonathan said in finality and Carl hummed in agreement. They spok
3RD POV:TWO WEEKS LATER:“You poisoned the kids? Did they die?” Loud questioning came from the abandoned duplex out of town, with little to no internet and power majorly supplied by the solar panel gotten from Iris's company. She packed up her hair in a messy bun and yawned, “I did and those little bastards didn't. You know I have always hated those two kids since I laid my eyes on them and it was going to be easier this way. Getting rid of them as well as having Iris crying her eyes out. It's so annoying seeing her grinning from all directions of the camera, I just wish I was able to stay longer and see the tears rolling down her fat cheeks.”She tossed the little transparent bag of poison on the table stand in her room while he sat on the bed laughing at her words while keeping his eyes on her as she stripped out of her clothes. “Well, as long as there are no cameras that capture your face, it's great to keep them on their toes and have fun with them. However, you need to keep me
IRIS'S POV:Now I felt totally horrible and I ran through my face, everywhere was as silent as a graveyard which was definitely a wrong comparison given the situation at ground. To make matters worse, some medical personnels came out rolling a covered body out but stopped when they saw us. I could hear a sniffle coming from someone which I would guess to be Sophie, she hated situations like this.“I'm so sorry.” I coughed out and he smiled tightly.“I totally understand and I'm sorry for all the trauma and pain I caused you in the past, and what Gabriel is doing to you and your family. You still hit as hard as before I see. “ He joked trying to lighten up the mood as he adjusted his suit, and there was a cut on his lip.“Thank you for the suit and for this hit. I needed it more than you would ever imagine.” He looked surprisingly sincere, looking so hurt and he walked off. I could feel everyone's eyes glued on me and waiting for my next move.I closed my eyes for a second before hurry
IRIS'S POV:THAT EVENING:“I came as soon as I heard and Bonnie stayed back with the baby. What are they saying?” Carl joined us in the hallway, greeting everyone who was just as anxious. I remained silent and to myself wiping away my tears, ignoring everyone's word of comfort and encouragement, just thinking long and hard of what had possibly gone wrong. As the twins were rushed in about thirty minutes ago, we all overheard the doctors and paramedic suggest that they were most likely poisoned and Jason's condition was more critical than Jamie. From where? By who? When? “I should have been more cautious and careful. If anything happens to them, I will never be able to forgive myself.” I thought outloud and placed my head in my hand, trying my best not to break down into tears and I could feel Jonathan's muscular arm instantly pulling me.“It's not your fault, Iris. They are going to be fine.” Mariana and Sophie said in unison, just like the twins and I imagined never getting to hear
JONATHAN'S POV:THAT SAME DAY:“Thank you, thank you so much, Sweetheart. This would have never happened without you.” I kissed my wife repeatedly on her forehead, cheeks, lips and neck and she giggled melodiously, looking so gorgeous. Whew…My wife is breathtaking. Even with little to no make up.“It's all you, love. You are so talented, passionate and amazing, it's only right you get your flowers and deal with whoever attempts to tarnish your image.” She spoke sweetly and I held onto her waist firmly, unable to wipe the smile on my face. The switch in people's words and reactions to me was quite amusing. My assistant had read what was being said now and I was just glad, the restaurant would continue receiving customers as this also affected the sales of the restaurant. “I love you so much, with everything in me!” I told her with absolute sincerity, and she cupped my cheek, pressing her lips on mine and kissing me softly.“I love you too, and the kids and I are so proud of you.” She
IRIS'S POV:“In the absence of any confessions or words from either of these great chefs. Let's begin….” The announcer stated, and began cutting down along with every other person in the audience as well as the kids who were just so energetic from all that sugar intake.“3….2….1…” And they began, grabbing their utensils and everything needed. The hall was not so large, it had a capacity of two thousand people because as soon as the tickets were out they were instantly sold out. Many referred to the competition as the ‘greatest battle of the sexiest chefs.’ And what was better than watching it in person…The hall was dimly lit, and the spotlights were on the contestants who had their eyes facing to the audience and the judges who also watched how they had prepared it. I wasn't even as tense as I should be, because one of the judges was present at the revealing of this new meal and he had been one who gave Jonathan thumbs up.But I feared whoever was behind bribing Chef Ryan could also
IRIS'S POV:A WEEK LATER:“Good morning everyone. I am Iris Knight, wife of Jonathan Knight and I will answer a few questions after sharing some words.” I spoke in a very assertive tone, speaking into the different microphones before me. “Chef's Ris was made inspired by me because I am my husband's taste, which is probably why a single bite of the meal will always make you moan or groan at its blended delicious taste. Chefs who have been in love could probably understand what I'm talking about. Chef Ryan who knows if he has or would ever experience the love Jonathan and I share, what if he truly has, won't it be great if he gathered with us by tomorrow night with it being publicly streamed, in order for the whole world to see the same passion and ease in his eyes as he cooks. We've all witnessed Jonathan Knight prepare this meal confidently for years, how come we haven't heard or seen Ryan Jared do the same? If he doesn't, it displays how much of a liar and fraud he is right?” I chuc
JONATHAN'S POV:A WEEK LATER:Bonnie had given birth to a baby boy, and though premature, all four of us had concluded that he was going to be so bad yet great like Carl was. If I hadn't admired Carl before then I totally did now, he had been making sure Bonnie was doing well after the surgery as well as questioning the doctors about the most minimal things everytime he goes online to read something about premature birth. He had also been flooding her with gifts and he shared with Tristan and I that it was finally time to get her the luxurious car she had requested for because she duly deserved it as his greatest fear which was losing her didn't come to pass. Iris also had been so attentive to Bonnie's needs, talking to her about her feelings and worries as a new mother and I had seen them both crying one time. It still broke my heart till this day that I was unable to be there for Iris and be by her side through postpartum.I just hope there will be a next time and I will be there.
