"I'll leave first if there's nothing else," Serenity said, heading toward the exit of the meeting room. Before she even touched the door handle, Lucas grabbed her hand.

"Serenity. Must you push me away like this?" Lucas spoke, his usually calm voice sounding a little anxious because of Serenity. Lucas felt a rare anxiety in him, a feeling he could not explain clearly.

Serenity looked at the handsome face in a daze. Lucas' delicate features reminded her of a younger version of him.

The young Lucas flashed before her eyes. The young Serenity had been exhausted from carrying the little boy in the dense forest. The little boy had said to her, "I'll be very nice to you. I'll buy you nice dresses and bring you to eat lots of good food. I'll protect you better than anyone else!"
