"Actually, you don't have to go through all that trouble. I'll go over to visit Granny's grave and pay my respects. I'll be right back," Serenity said.

"It's no big deal." Jackson insisted. "Serenity, I'll be there. She's your Granny after all."

Warmth flooded through Serenity. Her nose feeling a little sore, she wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face in his arms. It felt nice to be cherished.

Jackson glanced down at Serenity, who had taken the initiative to hug him. He gently stroked her hair, asking, "Your birthday is coming soon. Do you have any wishes?"

Birthday wishes? When she had been released from prison, her greatest hope was to overturn her case. That wish had come true.

All she wanted now was… Serenity tilted her head slightly, looking at Jackson. "Whatever I wish for, will you grant it?"
