The other end of the phone fell silent. After a moment, his voice came through, "My injuries are almost healed. You don't have to feel obligated to visit me."

Coco took a deep breath and said, "I'm not visiting you because I feel obligated. I have something important to tell you."

"You can say it over the phone," Lucas replied.

"I would prefer to say it in person," Coco insisted. He wanted him to know that she's serious.

"Okay, I'll send someone to pick you up," he agreed.

"No need, I'll be right there. Wait for me!" Coco hastily ended the call.

Lucas stared at the phone. He wondered what she wanted to tell him.

He hesitated to have any expectations, fearing that he would be disappointed.

Coco hailed a cab and arrived at Lucas' mansion not long after. After pressing the doorbell, a servant greeted her.

"Miss Souza, right? The young master is waiting for you. Please follow me," the servant informed.

Coco followed the servant into the house and entered the living room.
