Chapter 1966

"Just leave it," Terry said. He pulled out a lighter and lit the two number candles that had been left on the cake since last night.

Lisa was startled by Terry's swift actions and stared at him through the flickering light of the candles. "You… You're not going to make a wish?" she asked, but she felt it was unnecessary after saying it. His birthday was already over. What was the point of making a wish?!

"Make a wish? Will it even come true?" Terry gazed at Lisa steadily.

"Maybe it will?" Lisa said, but she was not very sure. It was already past his birthday, after all.
