Chapter 1777

When Jackson entered the room, he found Jacqueline and Fred on the bed. Fred appeared to be fast asleep, while Jackie was engrossed in a fairy tale book, playfully pretending to tell a story. Nearby, a maid dutifully attended to their needs.

Spotting Jackson, the maid promptly stood up. "You may go now," Jackson told the maid. Respectfully acknowledging his request, the maid quietly exited the room.

"Daddy?" Jacqueline looked at Jackson with confusion. The butler told her that Daddy would stay at the hospital for a few days to keep Mommy company. Why did he come home?

"Were you telling Fred a story?" Jackson asked gently, shedding his cold and distant demeanor in front of his daughter. In front of her, he was just an ordinary father.

"Yes!" Jacqueline replied, her voice quieter than usual because she didn't want to wake Fred up. "He couldn't fall asleep, so I thought I'd tell him a story. Whenever I can't sleep, Mommy always tells me stories to help me sleep."
