'That's true, but…' Serenity thought, embarrassed. "Eat your food! You haven't finished your meal yet!" she barked out an excuse to save herself from embarrassment.

"Okay," Jackson responded obediently. He put her hand down and picked up the cutleries again to finish his dinner. "Your hands. Does it hurt all the time?"

"I'm mostly fine. It only tends to hurt when it's wet and cold," Serenity said.

"Do you want to see Mr. Smith for a checkup?" Jackson asked.

Serenity was surprised to hear Jackson mention Mr. Smith. "Y-You know Mr. Smith?"

Jackson froze, realizing what he had said, and something flashed through his eyes. "Yeah. I do. I'm starting to remember some things from the past, and I remembered Mr. Smith."

"You remembered some things from the past?" Serenity exclaimed, visibly shaken.

"Just a little bit, not much," Jackson said calmly, his calmness contrasting her shock. "You want me to remember the past?"
