“Thank you,” said Clara.

When Peter turned to leave, Clara’s eyes remained fixated on his back, as if longing for something. She waited until he got into his car and drove out of the neighborhood before turning around and walking toward her food cart.

She had only walked a few steps when she suddenly heard urgent footsteps coming in her direction. The very next moment, she felt someone grab her wrist and turn her around.

“Who’s that man? Is he your new man or something?” asked Wilson with a sarcastic tone.

His stern face entered her sight immediately after that. She glanced at his suit and then down at his leather shoes. “What are you doing here?” she asked him with a surprised look.

“What? Am I not allowed to be here?” Wilson’s voice was cold, and unsurprisingly, there was a hint of displeasure on his face. The sight of Clara exchanging smiles with that average-looking man made him incredibly upset.
