Lucas's parents stared anxiously at the closed operation room door. They listened with concern as the expert surgeons described their son's injuries, the complications that might arise during the operation, and so on.

But when they learned that Lucas's life was not in danger, they breathed a sigh of relief. It was then that their gaze fell onto Serenity and Lisa, though they were much more focused on Serenity.

"So, you're Serenity Lewis, huh?!"

Lucas's mother walked up to Serenity and coldly chided, "I don't care what's going on between you and Lucas, I just don't want to see him wheeled into an operation room because of you again!"

Lisa was about to defend her friend, but Serenity quickly grabbed her arm and silently shook her head at her to tell her to stop. Lucas had been badly injured because of her, so she completely understood why his mother would speak to her that way. In fact, Serenity was prepared to endure a much harsher admonishment from Mrs. Gomez than what she had just
