"As if I could leave the mansion," she retorted.

A tiny smile twitched at the corner of his mouth, but the smile seemed weak because of his fever. "You're right, without my permission, you can't leave this place!"

'Come on, is this really the time to talk about that?!' thought Serenity.

"Do you have any fever medicine? Your temperature is pretty high, you need medicine!" she said.

He probably got a fever because of last night's rain.

"No," he replied faintly.

"Where's your phone? Call Connor, that secretary of yours, and ask him to take you to the hospital," she said.

"I don't need to go to the hospital," he said with a frown, "It's just a fever. I'll be fine in a couple of days."

"Okay, even if you don't want to go to the hospital, you should at least ask Connor to get you some medicine," she urged.

He pursed his lips, not saying anything. He then lifted the blanket covering his body and climbed out of bed.

"Don't tell me you're scared of taking medicine," she casually said.
