Prince Louis, King Francis, and Lord Jacob were summoned to the house. Felipe arrived at about the same time that Louis did. He thought they had all been summoned.
"Prince Felipe, it's nice to see you, my friend."
"Likewise, Prince Louis. Hey, no hard feelings over Amaya, right?"
Over the next couple of weeks, Amaya and Felipe spent every day together. Now that there were no more threats that they knew of, she didn't need Pierre. Plus, Felipe's bodyguard, Sergio, arrived. Sergio was also an ex-pirate. She knew no matter what though, she'd always have Chloe and Pierre. She felt comforted by that. Right now, she was enjoying time with Felipe. They had grown close. Due to Louis's arranged marriage, they were friends again. Everything was going great. Then, Pierre came back. Jacob was dead but, Enzo managed to escape from Antonio. Felipe decided to go back home to check up on things. He promised to come back for Amaya. He wanted to take her with him but she was safer in France. Carlos stayed behind to keep an eye on things for him. She hated being away fr
What Amaya didn't know was that Pierre, Lady Violet, and Chloe knew that Felipe was waiting on her. Sergio led her to the central part of the park near all the willows and small pond. It was the prettiest part of the whole park. She had never been before, but she always wanted to. When she saw Felipe standing there, she ran up to him, jumped and kissed him. He caught her and began to kiss her back. "I missed while you were away, Felipe. I was hoping to have my new dresses done by the time I saw you again."
Chloe and Pierre got up when Lady Violet did. Lady Violet hugged her daughter and cried. She was very happy for Amaya because she could see the happiness on her face, but she was frightened. The last time her daughter was engaged to a Spanish Prince, she died. Hopefully, Amaya and Felipe would be very happy. Chloe also hugged Amaya and Pierre congratulate Felipe. Felipe was in the best mood he'd ever been in and he hoped it would never change. When they all sat down after tears of joy were shed, Lady Violet asked Amaya if she had told Felipe about the plans.
He kissed her and she relaxed against him and stayed that way until they reached the shop. Felipe knew the one issue he had to handle where Amaya was concerned; her nightmares. Hopefully, since he found out who did it, she would take comfort in him. But as Amaya says, only time will tell. When they stopped at the dress shop, Felipe helped her out of the carriage and walked inside with her. Ms. Lola smiled at Amaya and gave her a joyful questionable look. "Let's go to the back, Ms. Lola. No one knows yet. But to answer your ques
Felipe went downstairs and into the study. They heard Lord Simon ask him if Amaya had said yes and when he said she did, George yelled louder and Pierre now protected both Lord Simon and Felipe. Felipe had told Lord Simon that Lady Violet told him what was going on and he said that it would be his honor to accept Lord Simon's offer. Only out of respect for Amaya. It was settled in Lord Simon's head that George would either accept the deal or leave the company. Which one he choose, Lord Simon didn't really care. George did choose to stay; some money was better than no money. After George left, Lord Simon turned to Felipe.
A couple of nights later, the night of the ball had arrived. It was a huge success. Everyone was congratulating them on their engagement. Prince Louis arrived and even stole Amaya away for a dance. It was the only way you could get her alone to talk to just her. Felipe noticed though that she was gone. He asked Pierre if he'd seen her. "Pierre, where is Amaya?"
She slipped back inside the ballroom and couldn't see Felipe but found her mother. She went over to Lady Violet and stood quietly for a moment; until her mother caught her stare. "What is it, sweetie?" "Nothing, it's just, Louis and I were reminiscing about the past. All the fun we h
He kissed her and left and she sat in the water for just a minute. She washed as best as she could, then got up and found a towel. Once she was wrapped up, she found some salve to put on her bruise. She dressed in her nightclothes and laid down. She must have been more tired than she thought because two hours later when Felipe came back up, she was passed out. Felipe just stood there leaning against the bedpost, watching her sleep. She looked so peaceful, lost in her dreams. Then it hit him, would she have a nightmare. She said she didn't anymore, but only about the explosion. What did she dream about? Then she called his name.
The crowning was one he knew he'd never forget. She was a perfect vision in ivory and gold. Her train was held by six maids as she walked down to him. She looked magnificent and proud as she walked to him. When she grabbed his hand, he knew she was terrified. He could feel her trembling. He gripped her hand to steady her and he smiled at her as the priest spoke the words. They knelt down to their knees and the priest crowned her as his queen. He looked very happy to next to her and this angered some.Later that night, he worshipped her like a queen and she moaned so loud, you could hear her through the palace. Amaya lay spent next to Felipe and held his hand as she drifted off to sleep. Felipe watched her sleep and thanked God for this woman. She had made moves that no one else could. He knew he had to get some sleep. He was meeting with Eva and Ernesto in the morning. He sat up at the sound of Algeria crying in the next room. He got up and saw the nurse wi
The next day, Amaya said goodbye to her friend and returned to Spain. She got there midafternoon and noticed Felipe’s horse out front. She panicked for a moment but kept her cool as she walked in.Everyone gave her a look and Chloe walked up to her with a worried look."Where is he?"
She led her to her father’s study. He was talking with some other men. When Eva knocked on the door. He told the other men to leave. Eva walked in followed by Amaya. He relaxed against his seat when he saw Amaya. “Amaya, I must say it is a surprise to see you. With the war, you should be home.”&n
They bowed as she walked past them to inform the guards of the news. They spread the word. Amaya went to check on progress at the brothel. The ladies had worked long and hard and it was finally done. They were all pleased when they saw her walk in. “Your highness, it's completed. Would you like to see it?”
Felipe stayed for the next two days, trying to put off going back. They both knew he had to. The night before he had to leave, he was lying in bed with Amaya and Alegría. He was regretting leaving them. Amaya noticed the look on Felipe’s face and asked him what was wrong. “Felipe, I know that look. What's on your mind?”
All of them went to the bottom. Once they got there, they began to unblock the doors and clean the tunnels. Amaya pulled Maria aside. “I know you understand french. I don't want the other girls to know what I need you to do. No one knows how far along I really am. I wanting all this done now because I'll give birth soon. I know you and I don't like each other but I am trusting you. Can I depend on you?”
“That's enough. He's gone and I can't change it. With both of them gone, this is my country now. I need to start acting like it. There's stuff that needs to be done.” “What do you want to be done, my lady?”
He kissed her on the forehead and then left. She wasn’t really mad at him, but with her being pregnant, anything could set her off. She really didn’t want him to go but knew he had to. As she heard him shuffle about downstairs with the servants, she hurt more and more knowing that he would have to leave. She began crying when she heard someone tell Felipe devastating news. “My prince, I'm sorry to interrupt you. We got word that England invaded late last night. Your father left out early this morning with half the army. He
“Are you insane? Not only are you not supposed to be out of bed, but you are sleeping with a horse in your lap. What is wrong with you?” “You know what, screw you. You try being six months pregnant with your first child, then being told you can't do anything and that you have to stay in bed for three days straight. You'll never know how that feels, the pain I go through, and everything else. You did this
