Zelda's brow was furrowed, and there was a look of worry on her face. I leaned in and gave her a soft peck on the cheek.

“It's nothing to worry about,” I said, my voice soothing.

She managed a smile, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. Her eyes were still clouded with concern, and I could tell she was trying to hide it.

“Really?” she asked, her voice uncertain. I nodded, and took her hand in mine.

“Trust me,” I said, my voice gentle.

“Okay,” she muttered, but I could tell she didn't quite believe me.

I couldn't blame her, really. If the roles were reversed, I probably wouldn't have believed her either. But I was determined to make her see that there was nothing to worry about.

“I promise, everything is fine,” I said, my tone firm.

She looked up at me, her eyes searching for mine for reassurance. I held her gaze, wanting her to see the truth in my words.

“Okay,” she said again, this time her voice was more sure.

DrakeI stood there, transfixed by the sight of the dead man in front of me. His blood pooled on the floor, a stark reminder of the violence that had just occurred. I tried to process what had happened, but my mind felt like a jumbled mess. What did this man's death mean? And why had he chosen to take his life rather than betray his boss? Was his boss a powerful man? A man with the power to make someone take their life rather than risk crossing him?“Search the body for any proof,” I said to my beta.“Yes, Alpha,” my beta said, his voice steady and calm. He knelt down next to the body and began to search it, looking for any clues that might help us solve this mystery. I watched, my heart still racing, as he carefully went through the man's pockets. Finally, he pulled something out. A small piece of paper, crumpled and stained with blood. I held my breath as my beta slowly unfolded it.
