Bonus Short Story: Kaelan pt. 3

Kaelan

I narrow my eyes at her. "You don't have a place to stay? Where is your house," I ask.

"I don't know."

My eyes shoot up to my forehead. "You don't know where you live? What's your name?"

She looks like she is taken aback by my question. "Um..my name?"

"Yes, your name. You have one, don't you?" I ask.

Panic reflects in her eyes as she thinks about it. "I don't know my name."

I let out an exasperated sigh. This girl seems to be completely lost. I wonder how she ended up here.

"Okay, let's start with something simple. Do you remember anything about yourself? Your family, friends, where you come from?" I ask

She shakes her head. "I don't remember anything. The last thing I remember is waking up here, in your bed."

My heart softens a little. It's hard to imagine how scary it must be to wake up with no memory of who you are or where you come from. "And you shifting into that creature? Do you know anything about that?"

She bites her lip. "I know of it, kind of," she says vaguely.
