Chapter 5

“Bitch, come over here and massage my feet. They are feeling so sore because of the pregnancy.” Kate said as she looked at Ella with a smug expression.

It has been a week since she moved in with Daniel.

Daniel wanted to send Ella away after the divorce, but Kate told him not to. She was yet to make Ella pay for all the years she has clung to Daniel, denying her, her lifetime happiness. There was no way she was going to let her go that easily.

So, over the past week, she has made Ella do a lot of things for her. From cooking to washing her clothes. She had turned her into a mere servant. Although Daniel saw how his ex-wife was being mistreated by his mistress, he had not said anything.

Ella looked at the woman coldly. It had already been a week and she had had enough of this. But what could she do? Daniel refused to let her go and no matter how bad Kate treated her, he did not say a thing.

“Did you not hear me?” Kate shouted at Ella. She was standing in a corner like a servant she was.

“Sis, why are you tolerating her? You could have already kicked her away by now. Why do you let such a dirty slit pollute your house?” Maggie, Kate’s sister asked.

“I can’t let her go, not yet. She has to pay for every sin she committed. How dare she covert my man and even have the guts to actually marry him? She is going to serve me until I deliver my baby.” Spat Kate in a scornful voice.

At first, she thought that Daniel would mind how she treated her, but seeing that he has not said anything until now, she felt that he loved her so much that he let her do whatever she wants.

After hearing her sister, Maggie looked up and commanded Ella, looking at her with disdain, as if she was looking at an annoying fly. “You, did you not hear what my sister said? Come and massage her legs immediately.”

Ella stood tall without saying anything. She had had enough of this sister duo. Only if she could get a chance to leave. Daniel had sent away all the servants for fear that they might say something to Old Master Mond. He had even confiscated her phone, she had no way of getting help.

Seeing that the woman was not reacting, Maggie went over and pulled her hair.

“Kneel before my sister and immediately massage her feet. You should be hoping happily that she even let you place your filthy hands on her delicate skin.”

Ella was caught off guard and the pain from having her hair pulled made her eyes tear up. Before she could react, she was thrown forward and landed in front of Kate’s feet.

“Now, start massaging,” Maggie growled. Seeing how her sister was treating Ella violently, Kate did not say anything.

Ella was so mad that she almost fought back, but remembering how Daniel would not say anything even if he found them beating her to death, she refrained from fighting.

Ella gritted her teeth and started massaging Kate’s feet. How she wished she could just break them into two. She was slightly distracted so, she ended up using too much force that she almost broke her toe.

Kate screamed out loud when she felt the pain. “What are you doing? Do you want to break my toe?”

“Sorry.” Ella apologized half-heartedly. How she wished it would have just broken. Suddenly, an idea popped up in her mind.

“I was a little distracted, I will do it properly now.” The moment her words fell, she twisted Kate’s big toe and the woman let out a crazy scream.

“You…” she raised her hand and just as she was about to slap Ella, a cold voice came through the door.

Daniel walked through the door and asked coldly, “What is going on here?”. Seeing that Kate had raised her hand and she was about to slap Ella, his gaze turned dark and a cold glint flashed through his eyes.

“Baby, you are finally back? You have no idea how cruel this woman has been. I told her to massage my feet but she almost broke my toe.” As Kate said that, tears were already streaming down her face.

“Brother-in-law, you have no idea how cruel this woman has been to Sis. First, she refused to do anything that Sis told her, and I had to force her by dragging her here, only then did she start massaging her.”

“Now, she almost hurt my sis, and you know my sis pregnancy has taken a toll on her,” Maggie complained.

The more she complained, the more Daniel’s face became frosty. Seeing that, Maggie thought that this woman was definitely done for this time round.

“Who gave you the right to raise your hand on her?” Daniel asked with the same cold expression.

He looked at the woman kneeling on the floor with a stubborn expression on her face, and he felt a pang of pain in his heart.

Although they had already divorced and he had even listened to Kate and kept her here, that did not mean that they had to treat her however they wanted.

Kate was shocked when Daniel continued to question her. Maggie still wanted to run her mouth, but one gaze from Daniel and she did not dare say anything.

Ella was the most shocked. She had thought that the man would join forces with his mistress and continue to mistreat her. Who would have thought that he would be on her side and stand up for her?

“Babe, this bitch almost broke my toes. Why are you standing up for her?” Kate asked in disbelief.

She could not believe that the man who had allowed her to do whatever she wanted, would actually stand up for this useless bitch. It was hard for her to believe.

“You, to your room now.” Daniel looked at Ella and commanded coldly.

Ella stood up and walked upstairs. Although Daniel had supposedly saved her from getting a beating, she only felt coldness in her heart. If it had been in the past, she was sure that she would have been touched to the extent of tears.

But now, she honestly felt nothing towards the man.

“Baby, why did you let her go? Aren’t you afraid of humiliating yourself?”

“What do you think you are doing?” Daniel asked. He also did not know why he was angry when he saw that Ella was about to be slapped. His angry reaction caught him by surprise.

“I…”

“Just because I divorced her and I allowed her to stay behind, does not mean that you can treat her however you want. Do you know that a word from her, and my grandfather can revoke my right to inheritance? Why do you think that I sent away all the servants?”

“If my grandfather finds out that I have betrayed Ella, you can kiss goodbye to being Misses Edmond.”

Seeing that Daniel was serious, Kate felt as if something was clogged in her chest. She had no choice but to accept that Daniel probably had special feelings for that bitch.

“I am so sorry baby, I was not thinking straight a moment ago. Please forgive me. I will never do that again.”

“Good.” Daniel nodded.

He did not know why, but he suddenly regretted the idea of keeping Ella here and allowing Kate to vent her anger on her. Besides, he would always feel a sense of guilt whenever she stumbled on them being intimate with Kate. He had even chased her out of the master bedroom.

After Daniel left, Maggie looked at her sister. Seeing that her expression was twisted and was not as sweet as it had been when she was talking to Daniel, she knew that her sister was pissed off.

“Sis, are you going to let this go?”

“Of course not. But we have to back down for now. I know Daniel, and if we act against his orders, we might be the ones packing instead of that bitch.”

“Do you think that brother-in-law has feelings for that woman?”

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

A few days went by in a flash after the incident. Ella was glad that the sisters were finally behaving and she got to have a moment of peace.

She walked out of her room and wanted to go to the market. But as she passed by Kate’s room, she heard something that made her halt in her steps.

Kate and Maggie were speaking. They did not even lower their voices as they thought that Ella was probably busy somewhere, and there was no one around.

“Sis, what are you going to do about it?”

“I have been trying to find a chance and make it seem like an accident but, I have come up with nothing up to now.”

Ella was stunned when she heard the woman. What were they talking about?

She took out her phone and turned on the voice recording and leaned closer to the door. She wanted to know what the two shameless bitches were planning.

“The more it stays inside of you, the more it endangers your life. Besides, it is not even my brother-in-law’s. Remembering how that ugly face looked like, there was no way you are going to fool everyone into thinking that the child is Danny’s.”

“The earlier you think of something, the better.”

Ella was shocked when she heard their conversation that her jaw literally dropped on the floor.

So, Kate’s child was not actually Daniel’s? She has actually used a bastard to lie to Daniel, into thinking that he fathered the child.

Ella thought that she had seen enough of this world, the shamelessness that these two sisters displayed was on another level.

Not wanting to be found out, Ella saved the audio recording and left quietly. She had finally found something that she could use against these two.

That night…

After making dinner, Ella went to call the two sisters. Since Daniel caught them trying to slap her and stopped them, they have been well-behaved recently. They did not dare act out of line.

Kate and Maggie were walking downstairs when they came face to face with Ella. Thinking about what they had discussed, their hearts thumped.

They had been at ease when talking about it, but now that they had to carry out the actual plan, they felt very nervous.
