"Sorry guys, today will only be one chapter. I will try and make it up for y'all tomorrow. Thank you for patiently waiting."
Chapter 17 When Ella left the hotel after she met with Daniel, she did not go back to the company. Her mind was a mess and she needed to clear her head. She had also ordered Pete to help her pick up her kids as she knew that she would not be able to drive in her current state. When she reached home, she did not do anything and headed directly to the bedroom. She buried her head in the pillow and cried her heart out. Just remembering the pain that her grandfather must have gone through when he realized that she was gone without bidding him goodbye, she cried even harder. She thought that she would have calmed down by the time her kids got home from school. She did not want her kids to worry about her, as she thought that they will never be able to understand her pain. But when Pete brought the kids home, her eyes were still red and her voice was cracked. She tried to appear cheerful but her kids could tell that she was not fine. The sensitive Carl went up to her and hugged her. H
Chapter 18 In the kids’ bedroom… “Uncle Pete, please have a seat. I will get you a glass of water.” Clare said as she directed Pete to sit on the sofa. Pete looked at his boss’s smart rascals and wondered what was wrong with them. He could not think of anything as to why he has been summoned here. “I am okay, please sit down.” He spoke. The kids all looked the same so, he did not dare call out their names. Carl looked at Pete sending them suspicious looks and decided to go right to the point. He was also afraid that their Mommy might storm in at any time to check on them. “Uncle Pete, don’t be nervous. We only called to ask you what happened to our mother today.” “Huh?” Pete did not understand and looked at Carl with a puzzled look. “When we came home, Mommy was crying nonstop. She even sent you to pick us up from school. We thought that you might know what happened.” “Did someone bully Mommy at her work?” When Pete heard that question, he did not know whether to laugh or cry
Chapter 19 The kids discussed it amongst themselves until they came up with the best wording. Carl found Daniel’s private email and sent him the message. “Done!” they excitedly did a high-five and just as Carl was about to look through Edmond and Co., and see if anything would pique his interest, Clarissa came knocking on the door. “Dinner is ready and Mommy is calling you lots.” “We will come right away, princess,” Castro shouted towards the door. At the dining table, apart from roasted pork, Ella had made a few more dishes. Seeing that they had a visitor, she had made everything so delicious and tantalizing. “Oh My God, I can feel that my salivary glands are already excited, just by smelling the aroma.” Caleb walked towards the dining table with an excited expression, followed by his siblings, who were equally excited. “Mommy is the best chef and we are her loyal customers.” “All right, enough of ass-kissing. Go and wash your hands and come eat before the food gets cold.” “
Chapter 20 At Topstar Legacy… It was a PE lesson and five heads were squeezed together as they looked at Carl’s smartwatch. Although the kids were allowed to carry phones in school, they were not allowed to use them during class time. But Carl had a smartwatch that could make and receive calls and emails. It was just like a mobile phone, but his teacher did not suspect anything. Carl opened his email and seeing that there was still no reply from the man, he frowned. Clare beat on her fingers as she asked her brother, “Why has the man not replied yet?” Castro also looked at Carl, as if he was in deep thought, “Bro, are you sure that you got the right email?” Carl did not say anything as he continued to operate on his watch. Caleb looked at his brother. He was more confident in him than the others and he knew that nothing would ever be too difficult for his little brother, especially the things that involved technology. “Why are you guys so impatient? Carl has not even said anyt
Chapter 21 Tony looked at his boss and asked when he saw the frown of displeasure on his handsome face, “Boss, what is the situation?” Daniel peeled his gaze from the laptop screen and looked at his assistant. He instructed in a deep voice, “Things are more complicated than I thought. Just make sure that no word gets out, because our shares will be affected.” When Tony heard his boss, he frowned. He had secretly found out that his boss was a computer geek, so when he learned that the company had been hacked, he did not panic like the other employees. He had in fact made a silent prayer for the other party, but now that his boss could not even deal with the matter, his heart was filled with panic. All the workers were already panicking, and God knows how many of them have already started to spread the word, in their frantic state. If word got out that their company has been hacked, the consequences will be dire. Daniel tried to hack again but he came up with nothing. he knew that t
Chapter 22 Five minutes to three o’clock in the afternoon… Five kids sat around the table as they waited for the arrival of Daniel. They had purposely come early because they believed in the element of surprise. They wanted to catch the man off guard, lest he takes them as a joke. Carl looked down at his watch as he counted the remaining seconds. “Ten, nine, eight…” Clarissa looked at her brother and frowned, “What if he is only late by a few seconds, will we leave?” “Yes, he had made things difficult for Mommy so we are not going to make it easier for him.” “But if we leave, he will never apologize to Mommy.” “He will look for us.” “Seven, six, five, four…” “I don’t know why I am feeling nervous. Maybe we got this all wrong and the man might never show up.” Clare said as she rubbed her hands together. “What is there to be nervous about? The man is the one supposed to be fretting right now. Maybe he has even pissed his pants, haha?” Castro said as he laughed. “Bro, are you
Chapter 23 “What did you just say?” Daniel asked. His heart rate increased even further and he could hear the thumping in his ears. Everything vanished and what remained was the voice of a little boy, who looked exactly like him, questioning him why he made his mother cry. “Our Mommy has never cried in front of us no matter how sad she feels. But yesterday was different. Did you bully our Mommy?” “Huh?” “Are you not listening?” “Sorry, come again.” “The reason my brother hacked your company was because you bullied our Mommy. Our Mommy is untouchable and anyone who dares mess with her messes with us. We are her protectors and we cannot allow anything to happen to her.” Clare declared when she saw the confused look on the man’s face. “Who is your mother?” Daniel inquired. “Ella Smith,” Caleb answered. “What did you just say? Can… you…say… that… again?” he asked, his voice raising a notch higher. His assistant was also shocked and he almost felt that he was dreaming. His mouth
Chapter 24 “So, can you guys tell me your names?” “I am Caleb, and I am the eldest. This is Castro, then we have Clare, Carl, and then our little princess, Clarissa.” Caleb introduced his siblings. “We were born in that order.” “You are a girl?” Daniel looked at Clare and asked. When he first entered, he thought that there were four boys and one girl, but it seems like he was wrong. When Clare heard the question, she smiled proudly and nodded, then with a smug face she said, “Yes, but I am the most handsome among them, right?” Daniel looked at her demure and warmth flooded his eyes. He smiled gently and nodded his head, “Yes, indeed. Very handsome.” Daniel looked at them, wondering if he should ask the question logged in his heart. He had meant to ask Ella about the kids, but they had warned him that Ella should never, ever find out that he was meeting them. He also did not want to startle her as she might start to think that he was stalking her. He was just wondering how she

Chapter 114 (Last Chapter) They could not believe that she came from such a powerful family and that she had not used her background to make a name for herself in the Showbiz. Those who had laughed at her and made fun of her background, even coming here to specifically embarrass her felt their faces burn. They were so abashed that they wished they could just disappear in an instant. Although Daniel and Ella were not involved in the entertainment, their names were known all over the business world. Just a word from them and they could end their lives in an instant. They were so glad yet fearful that Clarissa had not used her family influence ever since she joined Showbiz, or else they could not have known how they died. Clarissa looked at her brothers and sister and continued the introduction, “My siblings’ identities are very sensitive due to the nature of their jobs, so they cannot reveal their faces or names to the public. But they are glad that there are so many people today to
Chapter 113 Since Clarissa had decided to go all out, she had invited her friends from Showbiz. A few of them knew of her real identity and they could not miss the opportunity to associate with the rich. The moment six o’clock hit, the gates to the first Diamond Hotel were opened and luxury cars entered one after another. When the fans and the reporters saw that, although it was just a birthday banquet, they felt as if they were here to attend some award ceremony. They were so excited that they could not stop screaming. One celebrity after another descended the luxury cars. Others had their managers and assistants with them while others were on their own. Seeing that even those from the rival companies had come, the fans and reporters were stunned. Was this really a normal birthday banquet, because the lineup on the red carpet, was one of a kind. The fans were screaming once in a while every moment they saw someone they liked. But all their focus was on the gate, waiting for th
Chapter 112 Their eighteenth birthday arrived in no time. Caleb, Castor, Clare, and Carl had all returned to the country. Castro was preparing to take over his mother’s position as the CEO of Diamond Real Estate Investment because Daniel could still hold his forte for a while at Edmond and Co. Caleb and Clare were rising in ranks because of their brilliant performance while Carl was still a ‘high school teacher.’ Clarissa was now a top-tier model and her fan base had over a billion fans. Everyone was curious about her mysterious background but she remained tight-lipped. Diamond Real Estate has expanded over the years and now it owns several hotels in the city. The quintuplet's eighteenth birthday was being held in the first hotel that Ella bought since it held precious memories for her and her family. The preparations began one week earlier. Every time Ella thought about how her kids were finally going to leave her care, and become independent, although they had never needed her f
Chapter 111 Outside the beautifully decorated garden, a huge table was placed in the middle and all kinds of dishes were arranged there. Seeing the kids appear, Jane stood up and helped Ella with the seating arrangement. The men sat down watching their wives busy around as they sipped their beers. Paul looked at the all-grown kids and he could not help but feel emotional. He said in a hoarse voice, “I can’t believe that time has moved so fast. I still remember the first time I held those rascals in my arms. It feels like yesterday, they are almost eighteen.” Daniel looked at his kids and his expression was filled with love and gentleness. Only if he had not been an ass back then, he would not have missed such a great moment. Every time he thought about how another man had experienced what was supposed his, although he was not in a romantic relationship with his wife, he always felt jealous. But he was glad that Ella had given him another princess whom he had spoiled to the exten
Chapter 110 Carl and the rest had returned to their rooms, and they were getting ready to start the Christmas celebrations. Clare looked at Carl and Caleb and revealed a worried expression. She asked in a small voice, “Have you guys noticed something weird about Castro? His expression before he left was like that of someone who had lost his wife.” Caleb nodded when he heard Clare. “I noticed too, the moment I saw him. When I asked him about it, he was not willing to say anything.” Carl looked at them with a calm expression, “He is going through a heartbreak. But he will be okay.” Both Caleb and Clare were stunned when they heard Carl. They shouted in unison, “What?” They knew that Castro loved Samantha and they had all encouraged him to pursue her. Samantha had finally accepted him and if he was heartbroken, then there was only one possibility, Samantha had ditched their brother. They did not believe for a moment that it was their brother’s fault. They knew how much he loved Sam
Chapter 109 At seven o’clock, Ella’s guests arrived one after another. She was standing at the door, welcoming them with a sweet smile on her never-aging face. Jane looked at her best friend and smiled happily. She moved closer and hugged her, “I have not seen you in a few weeks and you have become even more beautiful?” “You are the one who has become more beautiful. Seems like Paul has been treating you really well.” After the two ladies hugged, Ella saw a beautiful girl standing behind Jane. She was tall and her beautiful hair cascaded down her shoulders, all the way to her narrow waist. If you looked at her closely, you would realize that she had a striking resemblance to Jane. Ella was stunned when she saw Samantha. She thought she was hallucinating and she only came back to her senses when Samantha called out to her. “Auntie Ella, long time.” Ella opened her arms and hugged Samantha tightly, her eyes turning a little red. She was so emotional as she hugged the all-grown wo
Chapter 108 Carl’s heart trembled when he heard his father’s laugh. It was full of meaning and he even thought for a second that his father had found out about his secret identity. He was about to say something when his father spoke to him, “Come with me.” As Daniel said that, he stood up and walked towards the stairs. Carl hesitated for a moment before he followed his father. Daniel walked to his study room without looking back. Before he closed the door, he heard footsteps from behind. “Have a seat.” Carl was apprehensive as he looked at his father’s calm expression but he still sat down in the end. Daniel did not beat around the bush and immediately went to the main point, “Was your hunting tonight successful?” Carl could no longer hide the shock on his face. His father was looking at him, taking in all his expressions. Carl’s voice trembled slightly when he opened his mouth to speak, “How did you…” “You are my son. How could I not know?” Carl was startled. He thought his
Chapter 107 After dinner, the family of eight sat in front of the fireplace, watching TV. December was filled with cold air and Ella was huddled in Daniel’s arms, as she asked her kids about their experience in the army, and Carl’s life abroad. She looked at her daughter who had become beautiful, and then at her two sons who had become manly, that they could make a girl’s heart race and her gaze became emotional. “Was life too hard in the army?” Clare, Caleb, and Carl looked at their mother before they shared a glance. Clare cleared her throat and stated, “I won’t lie to you. It was tough and very exhausting at first. I even thought of coming back but I did not want to embarrass you and Dad, so I just had to grit my teeth and bear through it.” Caleb picked up from where Clare left and he continued to narrate, “We were placed in different training camps and we rarely saw each other. But when we did, Clare and I were still undergoing our training while Carl had already become a hi
