WINTER:

Someone was staring at me. I could feel the burning hole on the back of my head as we continued biking towards where we came from.

Biking with Hawk was so much fun and Liam also had a great time. If not for me stopping Hawk, we would still be pedaling around by the park.

The incessant feeling of being watched continued. I did not like what I was feeling right now.

When I looked around, I saw another person whom I was expecting his presence— Calcifer.

He was standing there, completely oblivious that the women were gawking at him like how they did to Hawk.

Our gaze locked and it seemed like it was only him and me in the park. Time seemed to slow down.

What the heck was he doing here? Could I at least tell him to go to him right away?

Liam won't like that. He liked his Dad so much.

“Mommy! That is Daddy! Daddy is here!”

I groaned internally.

He glared at the woman beside him when she elbowed him. And that was the time when I realized someone was with

WINTER: If I were Calicfer's secretary, I would also want to escape. "Mommy? Please don't fight with Daddy." I heaved a sigh. "Daddy and I are only talking, Liam. We are not fighting at all.” We really need to check on our behavior since Liam was always observing us. Liam hugged me. “I hate it when you and Daddy fight. That's not nice, Mommy. That's bad. The teacher said so.” I patted the top of his head, assuring him that we were not fighting at all. “I love you, Mommy.” “I love you, too, Liam.” Someone clapped her hands. Looking around, it was Nathalia, staring at us as if she was happy just by watching. “Aw. What a sweet baby boy. I like him already, Mr. Calcifer. Can I keep him and show him to my other half-siblings?” Half-siblings? What did she mean? I'm sure that's not something important. This woman could be tactless sometimes. Calcifer shook his head. “That's not going to happen. But I am still hoping that you will allow me to bring Liam to meet

WINTER:Calcifer looked at me hard. “What are you planning, Pumpkin?”I chuckled. “Planning? Nothing at all. What should I be planning? You worry too much, Calicger. Perhaps you’re afraid of something?”“I’m not afraid of anything. You’re definitely planning something.”Shaking my head, I kicked my legs faster this time because I was already ahead of them. “I don’t know what you’re saying, Calcifer.” Calcifer tried to match my pace. “What do you want, Pumpkin? You can tell me anything.”“I don’t want anything in mind, Calcifer. I already have a son who always makes me happy.”“Perhaps you wanted a husband?”My steps faltered and from where I was standing, I could see Hawk glaring at Calcifer. If looks could kill, he would be dead by now.“I don’t want one as of the moment. But thank you for asking.”I saw Hawk heaved a sigh of relief. We finally reached the parking lot and announced, “I will be staying in the same car with Hawk while you two will follow us.”Calcifer’s eyes furrowe

WINTER: Would my son approve of anyone whom I would choose if it was not Calcifer? If he won't, and I totally liked that someone else, would I fight for my feelings for that person? “I think there is a big misunderstanding here, Miss Winter.” My brows formed a straight line. “What do you mean, Hawk?” “I’m not trying to change Liam’s Dad. I could never be his Dad. I could never replace Calcifer in his heart.” Liam was hungry for a real Dad. He might not have asked me about his real Dad before, I believed it had something to do with his age. He was too little at that time and he did not understand the concept of a Dad. But now that he knows about Calcifer… “It will take a lot of time for him to like another man, Hawk. If you want to pursue your feelings, you should be patient with my son.” “I wish I could have an amazing child like him.” “One day, when you have your own family, you will have someone like him, Hawk. Or maybe even better.” “You’re the only woman who

WINTER: One second Calcifer was almost touching my face and another second, he was far away from me.I blinked a couple of times and then I heard a growl. "You're threatening her," Hawk declared and he put me on his back. I shook my head. If I don't stop this, they will continue fighting until we go home.Stepping away from Hawk, I muttered, “Calcifer, I'm sure Liam is already waiting for us. Will you stop fighting with Hawk?""I'm not fighting with him, Pumpkin. He is the one who’s starting the fight. You can see it for yourself, too."The way I see it, Hawk was only doing his job to protect me. "You are the one who is starting the fight, Calcifer,” I insisted. I massaged my temple. “Here's the thing. You promised to do anything for me today. Will you please stop fighting with my bodyguard? It's no longer funny, Calcifer.""You think this is my fault, Pumpkin?" he inquired with a disappointed face. He was not aware of that? “You forget he was the one who punched me on the previo

  • My Ex-Husband's Temptation    73: Gift

WINTER:“Mommy, I’m so full,” Liam declared after eating. The food was indeed delicious and surprisingly, I preferred this place compared to the expensive restaurants that we had dine in. This place reminded me of the foods Ynes cooked for us. I suddenly missed the old woman again. “I told you I’m going to pay for everything,” Nathalia exclaimed while laughing at Hawk. “I emptied your pockets, right? You paid a lot. To tell you honestly, I don’t have plans to stop, but I considered that you might go broke because of me.” She laughed. Nathalia was an eater. She had eaten meals good for three people, yet I did not know how she was able to maintain that figure. “I can even pay for everyone’s meals right now,” he boasted and sat back in his chair. “Everything is settled, Miss Winter. We can go to the place where you want next.”Hawk never told me how much the bill was. Seeing how Calcifer and Nathalia had eaten a lot, he might spend a fortune. My bodyguard threw an irritated look at N

WINTER:Calcifer stared at me as if I had grown a pair of horns. “You won't accept my gift?”Breathing deeply, I retorted, “Yes. And you need to accept my decision.”Accepting his gift was easy. Dad had given me more expensive ones and I was able to put them on my jewelry collection. But are gifts coming from Calcifer? No, thank you.He stepped backward as if he lost his energy. “You won’t accept my gift, but you’re willing to celebrate with your bodyguard. What’s the difference between him and me, Pumpkin? Why did you approve of coming with him, when you cannot accept my gift? This is only a simple gift.”There was nothing simple about that necklace. It cost a million. Or near to a million. Besides, accepting his gift for me meant accepting whatever he wanted from me. “That's not simple for me, Calcifer. If I accepted your gift, what would you want in return?”“You think I wanted a return? What do you think of me?”Pain flashed in his eyes.Did I hurt his feelings? But I was only

CALCIFER:I removed my coat when I entered the house. My head was aching while my body was screaming to stay in my bed. It was already ten o'clock in the evening and I just got here. There was too much work and I wished I could bring them here. “Mr. Calcifer,” Zara called as she stood when I entered the living room. “Good evening.”I lifted my gaze. She was staying on the sofa and rubbed her eyes as she focused on me while trying to stay still. She was always like this. Among the maids, she was always waiting for me if I had not come home despite her job was to take care of Jett-Jett only. “Zara. Where is Jett-Jett?” “She's already asleep, Mr. Calcifer, while waiting for you. She was always asking you when you will come here.”“I already texted you that I will be coming home late. You also don't have to wait for me.”“I informed her about that, Mr. Calcifer, but she was not listening.” I heaved a sigh while stretching my shoulders. “Don't worry about me, Mr. Calcifer. CALCIFER: Zara looked like she had seen a ghost seeing Carmela’s angry look. If looks could kill, the maid should be dead by now. “Miss Carmela.” “You can go to your room, Zara. Leave us.” Without being told twice, Zara hurried away as if she was being chased by someone. If I was also her, I would do the same seeing I was going to talk to Carmela. This woman was noted for not having a good relationship with my servants. “You’re just allowing her to run away?” she asked in disbelief. “Calcifer. That woman disrespected me!” she cried. “All your maids disrespected me. They don't treat me like I am their boss!” “They will respect whom they want to respect, Carmela. I also told them to respect the person who deserves it. And Carmela. I am the one who gives their salary. Not you. It is expected that they will respect me.” Given how you treated them, you will not win them, Carmela. “You think I don’t deserve it?” “You can assess yourself. Question yourself if you treated

WINTER: One week later… Just like what I wanted, it was a small wedding only, attended by some important people. The wedding only happened in the mansion, something Calcifer did not approve of, but agreed to in the end. Did he have a choice? He did not. In the end, he had no choice but to give in. My wedding dress was nothing fancy. It was a simple one which I bought at the mall. Cali wanted to hire someone to make the dress for me, but I declined. I didn't want anything extravagant. It was better to donate the money to some charities. After all, what was more important was the marriage. Our marriage life after the wedding. We only invited the pastor to come into the mansion. The press found out about our wedding. It was all over the news, but I told Cali not to give any statement about it. I will do it when I want. Despite the venue, Cali was still able to ask the wedding planner to transform the hall into something beautiful, with a lot of flowers on each side. The servan

HAWK: The door burst open and saw Miss Nathalia’s angry look. I stopped drinking and looked at the newcomer. The alcohol did not even make me drunk. I need more. “Miss Nathalia. Cheers.” I offered a bottle of beer, but her expression told me she was not a bit happy. “Is this all your plans, right now, sulking in the corner? Smoke. Drink?” Nathalia asked. She put her hands on both of her lips as she looked at me with disappointment. Almost a week of staying in this apartment which she had helped me get. In the meantime. I was supposed to start working on her, to be her bodyguard, but I did not have the strength to work at the moment. It still hurts.Miss Winter was my ultimate love and there was no other woman beside her.The alcohol made me numb the pain, but when I got sober, it was back again. WINTER: The crowd was expecting my answer while all I could do was stare at Cali kneeling down, holding an opened box where the ring was waiting for me. “I know this is not the kind of proposal that you’re expecting. This is simple, but I thought that you also did not like anything fancy. This is not like what you see on social media platforms, but there is one thing that I wanted to assure you. My feelings are real. My promises will remain the same. It's the feelings that matter, right?”Cali was expecting my answer, and the more I was silent, the more he grew nervous. My eyes went to Dad. He was already wiping the tears from his eyes while Nathalia was silently cheering for his brother. The servants seemed like they could no longer breathe because of the fast beating of their hearts. “Cali…I…” I bit the inside of my cheeks. Was I ready now? “May I talk to you for a moment?”His mouth fell but was able to get hold of his emotions. Clearing his throat, he said, “Yes, Pumpkin. Wh

WINTER: ONE MONTH LATER...“Mommy? Why is Uncle Hawk leaving us?” Liam asked, watching Hawk bringing his bag outside. Not only Liam and I were sending him, but Calcifer was also with us and the rest of the maids. None of us wanted him to go. “He is just visiting his parents, Liam. He does not know when he will be back, that's why he resigned.”He looked at me with pure innocence. “Daddy? I don't understand why he needs to leave us while he visits his parents,” Liam continued. Cali patted Liam. “You will understand when you become an adult.”He pouted. “I don't want to become an adult, Daddy. I want to be your baby forever.”“You will be our baby forever.”A month had passed since I accepted Cali's love. A month of always showing me how much I meant to him and our son. He never failed to show us how much he loved us, by cooking and traveling abroad. Above all, Liam was the happiest. He constantly brags to his classmates that his Daddy is already with us and he constantly wants Ca

HAWK:Nathalia was pretty easy to talk with. The moment I asked for her pin code, she gave it to me without hesitation. Was she always like this to other men? HAWK:I stared at the ceiling like a fool. Now what? Where would you go now? Why did you lie to Miss Winter saying you’re sick? Now, you’re forced to go out and spend the rest of your day there. Now, you’re forced to go out and spend the rest of your day outside while your guilt is eating you away. You never lied to Miss Winter like this. I smiled bitterly. Could I be blamed? When I heard Liam and that bastard’s laughter, I gave in to the temptation and I went to the pool and saw them myself. The bonding of the real father and Dad. Something which I will never be able to achieve. My chest felt like it was being wrung. I held my breath as the pain became too much seeing how they looked good together. The three of them. Liam was happy. Miss Winter was happy with the bastard’s presence in the mansion. When he failed to sleep in this room, something might happen between them.I closed my eyes tightly as images of them being together entered my mind. Something already happened betwee

So don't drink any alcoholic drinks from now on.My eyes bulged. “I'm with a child?”He chuckled and grabbed the wine glass from my hand. “This is supposed to be mine.” He emptied the contents. “We're going to have a baby?” I asked.“We are.
