Chapter Seven

Luca's POV.

Five fucking years! I still couldn't get over her. I had to move away from here thinking I would have gotten over my obsession with her, but it was not possible.

I had to pretend all my life that I hated her. I waited for this moment and all I needed was for her to love me back.

I had to make her deal that could put my entire hard work in a big problem just because I didn't want to see her with Miguel anymore, hoping I was going to have a chance with her.

I wasn't sure about having sex with her yet, but I just wanted to know if I could get a chance with her. I didn't want to rush her, since I wanted to take things very slow.

The memories from.thag morning kept on flashing in my head. I had always fantasized about moment like that in the past and it almost happened, but I wanted things to be okay between the both of us first

I think things were going in my favor when I got to discover that she was planning to divorce Miguel. I knew that this was going to happen, knowing fully well that he didn't have any feelings for her at the start.

He just wanted to use her. I wanted to let her know about it, but it seemed like she was really happy whenever she was with him, and there was no way she would belong words from the guy who she always banter.

"What did you want to see her for?" Maddie, who was sitting opposite me, questioned with a smile on her face. I could tell that she was not happy to see me in her house.

Priscilla had almost changed her sitting position just a few minutes after I was in their house. It was a shame she slept with her sister's husband. She was the real definition of a hoe!

"I guess she didn't tell you." I replied to Maddie, who had a confused expression on her face.

"Tell me what? Was there something she was supposed to tell me? You two can't possibly be dating." She answered back while I let out a soft chuckle.

I honestly thought Ria was in some kind of trouble after she told me she was entering her stepmother's room. I tried calling her number, but she wasn't picking up anymore.

"What made you think that way?" I questioned, with a serious expression on her face. What made them think the two of us couldn't be together?

The countenance in the room changed entirely. It looked as if one collected their money.

"Oh please! What made you think that way? Apparently, she is now my personal assistant." I uttered, and I could see the change of expression on their face.

"Are you serious right now? Why do you have to pick her of all people? She is your brother's ex-wife! Don't you think that is insulting to your brother?" Priscilla sprang up to her feet. Why was she so worked up about the news?

I tilted my head to one side, with squinted eyes.

"He isn't my blood brother." I clarified things with her.

"The fact you slept with your..." I couldn't get to complete my sentence before I heard a voice right behind me.

"Who is asking for me?" She sounded so angelic, and I wanted to hear her screaming my name badly with that voice.

Priscilla answered her. Who was she expecting before? I could feel her leaving my back, and we got to maintain eye contact immediately when she came to my front.

She was putting on a casual outfit that was entirely different from the gown she left with this morning. Her hair was tied in a messy bun with glasses on.

How did she manage to get dressed that fast?

"Mr. Luca," her eyes were still in shock, and it looked as if I had a lot of explanations to do.

"We have to go now. Thank you very much." I mentioned to her mom before I stood up. My eyes indicating for her to go outside.

"I will see you later, Maddie." She walked right behind me as we then stepped out of the house.

"What do you think you are doing here? Why do you have to put me in a tough situation like this? What did you tell my mom and my sister?" Ria questioned me, but I didn't plan on replying to her. She almost destroyed all our plans.

"Why aren't you saying anything? I'm asking you a question!" She stepped in front of me, refusing to let me enter my car.

Her soft, plump lips caught my attention. I inhaled my breath sharply while I tried so hard not to look at her.

"Don't you ever get that close with me again." I warned her as she quickly left my front.

"I did it because you aren't answering my God damn question! I don't know the kind of trouble you already put me through." She stated, but I just ignored her and entered into the car.

"Get into the car and let's go." I instructed.

"Where are you going to? You can't just come here and tell me you are going somewhere without me having an idea of where you are going to." She fired back at me.

"It seems like you don't longer need this job.".I threatened her. I didn't mean to do that, but that was my only resort.

"What the fuck! I can't believe I am being threatened right now." She cussed out so loud as she then entered into the car, sitting in the passenger's seat.

"You have to believe it."

"You are finally showing your true colors. I knew something was wrong when you were helping me. My hatred for you still remain the same though." She replied me, her hand on her waist.

If only she knew how hard it was for me to hide my feelings. If only she knew how hard it was for me to act this way towards her.

"You are also showing your true colors. I just decided to help you since my brother considers me as his rival. He doesn't love you so I need to help someone who he doesn't love so bad so that will annoy the hell out of him." I explained to her.

"Stop saying shits like this, he loved me at some point in life." She opposed what I had said. Wait, was she still defending him after all what he had done to he?

It hurts me to see how ignorant she was about my brother.

"So did you get caught trying to sneak into their room?" I need to make sure that they were not suspicious about anything. The fact that they knew I might be having her back too.

"I almost got caught if not for your arrival." She replied bluntly; her eyes were fixed on the rad with the aggressive stares. I saw her text, but I didn't know that was what she meant.

I thank goodness that I came really early.

"If Maddie or Priscilla ever lay their hand on you, let me know about it." I changed the entire topic. It must have been so hard staying in the house alone, and I totally understood her point of view when she questioned me about not putting her in trouble.

"I sent you a file; you should go through it." I mentioned to her, as she then removed her phone, which was in her pocket.

"Wait! Are things official already? Am I already your personal assistant?" She questioned, and I could sense the change in her mood already.

"Go through the files first." I instructed her, and she went silent going through her phone.

"Wait! I have to go out with you in the next two days?" She opened her eyes in shock, looking through the schedule I had.

"Yes! It's a party designed for billionaires and millionaires in the city. Miguel is going to be there also." I informed her.

"Wait! What?" Her voice trailed off in shock, and I could feel her gaze on me. There was nothing wrong with what I had just said.

"Why should I have to go there? You just said that he will be there." She questioned. I knew how hard she was going to find it hard to face him whenever she could get to see him.

"That will make me determine how qualified you are for the job." I replied to her.

  • My Ex-Husband's Brother    Chapter 168

Avia’s POV I watched him as he came out of the bathroom, water dripping down the lines of his body. Droplets slid across his chest and traced the curve of his shoulders before disappearing into the towel wrapped low around his waist. His hair clung to his forehead, damp and dark, as he dragged the towel across it carelessly. I wanted to ask him a thousand things. Why he let Brianne back into this house. Why he looked like the weight of the world was pressing on his shoulders. Why his eyes seemed clouded with something heavier than fatigue. But I couldn’t bring myself to speak. I knew better than to push him when he was like this. Would telling him about the child inside me change anything? The thought clawed at me. My fingers tightened around my phone as I sat on the bed, pretending to scroll. Brianne had told him the child wasn’t his, and yet he hadn’t reacted. He hadn’t flinched. If anything, his silence had told me everything I needed to know—that he wanted me by his side rega

  • My Ex-Husband's Brother    Chapter 167

Avia’s POV My body lay still beside his, but my mind wouldn’t shut off. Every sound—the ticking of the clock, the faint hum of the city outside, even the slow rhythm of his breathing—seemed too loud. My chest ached with a heaviness I couldn’t explain, a weight that pressed deeper with each passing second. By the time dawn broke, I had barely closed my eyes. Tristan stirred before me. His hand brushed lazily across my waist before he slipped out of bed. The sheets lifted, and the sudden absence of his warmth made me curl tighter into myself. I watched him silently through half-open eyes, the way he pulled on his shirt with quick, distracted movements. His jaw was set, brows pulled together in thought. He looked like a man carrying too much, and for a moment, I wanted to reach out and stop him. Ask him what was wrong. Demand answers to all the things he never says. But I didn’t. I stayed still until he left the room. The moment the door clicked shut, I exhaled shakily, sitting up

  • My Ex-Husband's Brother    Chapter 166.

Tristan’s POVMorning sunlight leaked in through the half-drawn blinds, cutting sharp lines across the floor of my room. My head was heavy, still buzzing from everything that had happened yesterday. I rolled over, staring at the ceiling, but it wasn’t blank anymore—it was crowded with voices, accusations, and the kind of silence you never really forget.Brianne showing up at the house still didn’t make sense. Her voice, her face, that stupid photo in her hand—it was all glued to my mind like it had been branded there. I kept telling myself it couldn’t be true, that I couldn’t possibly be the father of her child. I had tried explaining that to Avia last night, fumbling over words like a guilty man even though she had stopped me halfway.“I know you wouldn’t do that,” she had whispered, her face soft in the dim light. “You don’t have to prove it to me.”Her faith in me should have been enough to calm my nerves, but it hadn’t. Because the truth was, I didn’t even trust myself anymore. Ev

Chapter — Avia’s POVThe air in the house was cold when I woke up, far colder than it had any right to be. My fingers brushed against the side of the bed where Tristan had slept last night, but all I felt was emptiness. His scent still lingered on the pillow, faint, stubborn, and painfully comforting. He had left without a word again.I sat up slowly, my heart twisting in a way I hated. How many times was I going to allow this cycle to repeat? He drew me close, whispered promises in my ear, and then vanished the moment morning came like everything he said was fragile enough to break with the sunrise. The silence was broken by soft footsteps outside the room. My entire body tensed. It wasn’t Tristan. I knew the weight of his footsteps like I knew the beat of my own heart.Brianne.She pushed the door open just a little, her face appearing like a shadow at the crack. Her smile was smug in a way that made my chest tighten.“Oh. You’re awake,” she said, her voice dripping with fake sweetn

  • My Ex-Husband's Brother    Chapter 164

Chapter 164Avia’s POVI woke up to silence. The kind of silence that creeps into your chest and makes your heart beat faster because you know something isn’t right. Tristan’s side of the bed was cold, empty, as though he had been gone for hours. My hands brushed against the sheets, hoping I was wrong, hoping he had just rolled to the far end. But no.The alarm clock blinked red at me. 4:30 a.m.I sat up slowly, the duvet falling off my body, and my eyes roamed the dimly lit room. Something else was missing too—Brianne. The little snake who had wormed her way into our lives, always finding the perfect time to poison my peace. She wasn’t here.My stomach tightened. If Tristan wasn’t here, and Brianne wasn’t here, then where the hell were they?I tried to tell myself not to think the worst. That maybe Tristan had gone out for a walk, maybe Brianne had left to get water, maybe I was just being paranoid. But paranoia was better than naivety. I wasn’t naïve anymore. Life had beaten that ou
