Elijah’s POV

Walking into Raven Media with Sophia, I felt very determined to find out more. And yet, I couldn’t shake off the unease within me.

The lobby was bustling, with people rushing about, clutching papers and talking into headsets. I kept my focus on the task at hand: finding out more about Henry Stanford.

We made our way to Kayla's office, the anticipation building with each step. Inside, Kayla was chatting casually with a beautiful teenage girl who bore a striking resemblance to Morgana. My eyes narrowed, feeling a twinge of awkwardness. But I quickly set those feelings aside, reminding myself that this investigation was crucial. All potential leads were important.

“Elijah, Sophia, this is Lila,” Kayla said, gesturing to the girl.

Lila's gaze lingered on me, and I sensed a flicker of recognition. But she didn’t say anything except a polite "Hello" to both of us.

“Hi, Lila,” I responded, keeping my tone friendly and professional.

Kayla cleared her throat. “Lila, could you sha

The room seemed to vibrate with the depth and emotion in her voice.I was certainly surprised and blown away. When she finished, there was a moment of stunned silence before Kayla clapped enthusiastically. “See? I told you she has the potential to be even bigger than Adrian!”Lila beamed, her eyes shining with hope and excitement. I nodded, thoroughly impressed. “You’ve got an incredible gift, Lila. I’ll get in touch with some people, and we’ll see what we can do to help you on your path to stardom.”“Thank you so much!” Lila exclaimed, practically bouncing with excitement. To me, she really just seemed like any regular teenager with a huge dream of becoming a celebrity. She wasn’t some kind of spy or undercover contact of Henry. Sophia’s POVI leaned back in my chair, tapping the end of my pen against my lips, deep in thought. The soft afternoon light streamed through the large windows, illuminating the studio with a warm glow that spread over the scattered sketches and mood boards on the table.Kayla sat across from me, her eyes glued to her tablet as she scrolled through various fashion inspirations. “Lila's new single is going to be a hit, no doubt about that,” she said, not looking up. “But we need her look to match her sound. Something that screams Lila.”“Agreed,” I nodded, flipping through a stack of sketches we had accumulated over the past few weeks. “Her voice is so unique—sassy, quirky, with that hint of sexiness. And even her personality suits it! We need to capture that in her image.”Kayla glanced up, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “What if we go for a mix of retro and modern? Like, think 70s glam rock meets contemporary street style. Bold patterns, metallic fabrics, but with a twist.”I ra

Sophia’s POVStanding in the garden of Elijah’s estate, I took a deep breath, feeling the warm summer breeze brush against my face. The estate was grand, with lush greenery and a meticulously maintained lawn. I can’t believe I used to live here and I never appreciated the garden so much before. I guess I was just too focused on my crumbling marriage at that time. Elijah stood beside me, his hand resting lightly on my lower back. He had just returned from France, and despite the weeks apart, the connection between us felt as strong as ever. We had kept in touch throughout his trip, sometimes falling asleep while on video calls. I have to admit, it feels good to have him back. Freya, the party planner, was animatedly describing the layout for the upcoming event. She pointed out various spots in the garden, explaining enthusiastically what each area is for. “The stage will go right over there,” she said, gesturing to a raised platform near the rose bushes. “It’ll be perfect for the

Sophia’s POVThe night was alive with energy as I stepped into the upscale club for Lila’s official debut. The venue was drenched in a sea of shimmering lights and deep purple hues, perfectly embodying Lila's glam, sexy, and sassy persona. “Wow, so cool,” I whispered with a thrill as I scanned the place. The walls had been decorated with silver and gold streamers that caught the light in mesmerizing patterns, while the dance floor pulsed with a beat that made you want to move. It was a perfect blend of high-end elegance and edgy chic, just like Lila herself.Kayla and I stood near the stage, swaying with the music and feeling charged with exuberance. Lila was a vision in a stunning sequined dress that glistened with every move she made. Her performance was electric, and the crowd was eating up every second of it. I couldn't help but feel a swell of pride as I glanced at Kayla. Her face was lit up with the same excitement I felt. The stage setup was flawless—bright, bold, and complet

Sophia’s POVAs the performance came to a close, the crowd erupted in applause, and Lila took her final bow on stage. She was instantly swarmed by media people, their cameras flashing and microphones thrusting toward her. Everyone was obviously caught up in the high energy, and the air was just electrified with the eager chatter, laughter, and screams of delight and excitement. Kayla quickly moved into action, stepping through the crowd to assist Lila and help manage the press. “I’ll be back,” she said to me and Connor, her voice hurried but firm. “Just keep an eye on things until I get back.”Connor nodded, his gaze also shifting toward Morgana. “Be careful, Kayla.”As Kayla moved off to join Lila, I found myself increasingly troubled. The sight of Morgana hovering in the background, combined with the chaotic energy of the media, left me on edge. I couldn’t get rid of the feeling that something was about to go wrong.Suddenly, a voice interrupted my thoughts. “She’s so beautiful and

Elijah’s POVThe morning after the launch party, I stood in the middle of a hectic conference room, teeming with various conversations and the flashing lights of cameras. Media personnel and industry professionals had come together for Lila’s press conference. As I waited for it to start, my mind wandered back to last night. Morgana had been insistent on confronting Lila and her dad, who had both apparently turned their backs on her already. It was a good thing Sophia and I were able to stop her in time and force her to head out and not cause any trouble — for her daughter’s sake. After that, we went over to talk to Lila’s father in order to gather some information about Henry. But then, he seemed to have vanished without a trace. Lila told us he had to leave early and handed over his contact number, promising we could set up a meeting before he returned to France. Now, as I glanced around the room, I couldn’t shake the feeling that time was slipping through our fingers. What if Hen

I needed to tell him how well this turned out, thanks to him.Lila was on stage, wrapping up the final words of her speech. She looked composed, professional, and every inch the star she was meant to be. Her unique beauty and magnetic appeal captivated the audience.“Music has always been my passion, my way of connecting with the world,” Lila said, her voice steady and sincere. “I am thrilled to share this journey with all of you.”Her launch as a new singer had been a resounding success. Yet, I couldn’t help but wonder what she really knew about Henry's whereabouts. We would find out soon enough. As the applause died down, Kayla, representing Raven Media, joined Lila on stage for some photos. Cameras flashed, capturing the moment. Kayla looked radiant, her confidence palpable. I gave her a thumbs-up, which she returned with a quick smile.Th

Julia’s POVThe metal bars felt colder today, or maybe it was just my imagination. The days had blurred into an endless cycle of waiting and hoping, but today was different. My lawyer had stopped visiting me. The realization struck me like a sledgehammer, and my heart ached with the weight of it.I gripped the rough edges of my cot, trying hard not to fall apart completely. Why had he abandoned me? What had changed? My mind churned with possibilities, none of them comforting. It was during one of these spirals that the police officer walked by, his keys jangling at his belt. I called out to him, my voice trembling. “Officer, do you know why my lawyer hasn’t come to see me?”He stopped, his expression indifferent. “Your parents probably stopped paying him. The government might just assign you a new lawyer.”His words cut through me like a knife. My parents had abandoned me too? The people who were supposed to stand by me, to fight for me, had given up. I felt a surge of anger and betra

Sophia’s POVElijah’s silence pressed down on me like a physical force, heavier than the comforter I was clutching. I lay on my side, my back turned to him, staring into the darkness. My heart felt raw, aching with the knowledge that I’d hurt the one person who meant everything to me.He wasn’t asleep—I knew him well enough to sense that. And knowing he was lying there, just as restless as I was, made the ache in my chest even worse.I couldn’t take it anymore.“Elijah,” I whispered. Turning slowly, I faced him, my eyes adjusting to the faint light filtering through the curtains. His back was still to me, but I reached out tentatively, my fingers brushing against his shoulder. “Please,” I whispered, my voice cracking. “I can’t stand this distance between us.”For a moment, he didn’t move, and I thought he might ignore me. But then, he rolled over, his face etched with both exhaustion and pain. His eyes met mine, and the sight of his hurt broke me.“I’m sorry,” I said, tears pooling i

I’d completely forgotten about it after stashing it away. How had it ended up here?“Elijah?” I said hesitantly, my voice quieter than I intended. He turned, his face calm but his eyes sharp, like he was holding back a storm. He held up the wrapper. “Where did this come from?”I froze, my mind racing. “I—”“I found it in Reese’s bag,” he said evenly, cutting me off. His tone wasn’t accusatory, but there was an edge to it that made my stomach churn. For a split second, I considered lying, brushing it off as something our daughter must have gotten from a classmate or a friend. But the look in Elijah’s eyes stopped me. He d

Elijah’s POVI sank into the couch, remote still in hand, as the credits of some late-night documentary rolled across the screen. The faint hum of the television was lulling me into that in-between state of wakefulness and sleep when my phone buzzed on the coffee table. The name Camille lit up the screen.Frowning, I picked it up. “Hello?”“Elijah,” came her voice, slightly slurred, accompanied by background noise—music, chatter, the unmistakable din of a party still in full swing. “Hey... I’m sorry, am I interrupting something?”“No,” I said cautiously, sitting up straighter. “Are you okay? You sound... off.”She let out a soft laugh that sent warning bells ringing in my head. “Just had a little too much fun tonight, that’s all. I’m about to leave the party.”“You shouldn’t drive,” I said immediately. “Find someone sober to take you home or call a ride. Seriously.”“Oh, so protective,” she teased, her words laced with flirtation. “I’m so flattered you care.”“Camille,” I said firmly,

That’s your third glass already,” she said, a shadow of worry crossing her face as she moved closer.I waved her off with a forced smile. “I’m fine. Really. I’m just so... happy. The event was a huge success. We deserve this, don’t you think?”Kayla hesitated, her gaze scanning my face. “Yeah, but don’t go overboard. You’ve got a family waiting for you at home.”“Elijah went ahead,” I said quickly, my tone dismissive. “He’s tired.”Her eyes narrowed slightly, like she wanted to press further, but Connor appeared beside her, sliding an arm around her waist. The moment passed as she turned her attention to him, and I took the opportunity to slip away into the crowd. The bass thumped through the speakers, reverberating in my chest as I joined a group of familiar faces on the dance floor. Sophia’s POVThe energy of the fashion show was electric. The applause was thunderous as the models made their final walk down the runway in Emily’s stunning tribute collection. Kayla and I stood near the stage, watching as the curtains closed on months of hard work.“We did it,” Kayla whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. She squeezed my hand tightly, her smile brighter than the spotlights above.I nodded, unable to suppress the overwhelming joy bubbling inside me. “We really did. It’s perfect, Kayla.”The after-party was in full swing now, a celebration of what we had pulled off. Everyone seemed to be riding the high of the evening. Elijah had surprised me earlier with a bouquet of my favorite flowers, a sweet and thoughtful gesture that made my heart swell. His warm kiss on my cheek and whispered, “I’m so proud of you,” had been the cherry on top of a perfect night. But now, as I moved through the crowd, my excitement dulled slightly. I couldn’t find him.“Elijah?” I called

Sophia’s POV"Kayla, can you double-check the lighting cues for the finale?" I asked, glancing at the stage where models were gliding down the runway, their movements rehearsed to perfection.Kayla, clipboard in hand, barely glanced up. "Already done. Now spill. How was the night with Lucas?"My heart jumped, the question catching me off guard. I kept my tone breezy as I adjusted a hemline on one of the dresses. "Oh, it was fine. We caught a movie and grabbed dinner. Nothing special."Kayla lowered the clipboard and arched a brow. "Uh-huh. And where was Luana during all of this?"I busied myself with the dress, my hands suddenly fidgety. "She... got caught up with something at home. A repair, I think. She couldn’t make it."Kayla’s lips parted in mock surprise as she leaned closer, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Wait. Are you telling me you and Lucas—alone—watched a movie and had dinner together? No Luana? Just the two of you?""Shh!" I hissed, glancing nervously around the backsta

Elijah’s POV“All the permits and licenses are in order,” Victoria began, her tone suddenly professional again as her eyes scanned the screen. I felt relieved. “But I’ll double-check the fire safety certifications and food handling records to make sure we’re fully covered.”“Good,” I replied, keeping my tone brisk. “I’ll work on connecting with a few experts to get additional certifications if necessary. It won’t hurt to go above and beyond for now.”She nodded, typing something into her device. “That’s a smart move. It’ll help to counter any claims before they gain traction.”As she spoke, she reached across the desk to grab her pen, her fingers brushing mine. I pulled my hand back instinctively, but she barely seemed to notice—or pretended not to.“Sorry,” she murmured with a faint smile, her eyes briefly flicking to mine before returning to her tablet.I shifted in my seat, brushing it off as an accident until, moments later, she reached up to unclip her hair. Elijah’s POVI walked into Bella Sera, happy to see that it was packed with guests at this time in the afternoon. Fresh from closing a successful business deal, I was in a good mood, but there was a nagging concern for Morgana at the back of my mind. It was why I’d decided to stop by the cafe—to check in and see how she was holding up after she’d left me a series of frantic voicemails.Since I didn’t see her in the dining area, I went straight to her office. The door was ajar, and I could already feel the tension and anger leaking through it. I found Morgana pacing like a caged lioness, her hands gesturing wildly as she muttered to herself. The sight reminded me of the old Morgana— my stepmother who never minced her words or held back when someone crossed her.“I cannot believe this! The audacity, the gall!” she ranted, slamming a folder onto the desk. “This is a targeted attack, Elijah. It has to be. Who else would stoop this low?”“Morgana,” I greeted cautiously, stepping inside. “

Adrian’s POVThe Roosevelt mansion came into view as the car eased into the circular driveway, its stately facade bathed in the setting sun. Growing up here, I’d long since grown accustomed to its grandeur—the towering columns, the meticulously trimmed hedges, the way it seemed to command attention. Yet tonight, I barely noticed it. My thoughts were entirely on the woman sitting beside me, her fingers absently toying with her bracelet. “Relax,” I said, throwing her a reassuring smile. “My father’s not as intimidating as he looks. He’s actually… well, decent these days.”Lila gave me a skeptical glance. “Decent? I’ve read about your family, Adrian. You’re practically royalty in this country.”I laughed at her dramatic tone. “You’ll be fine. Trust me.”“Tell me again why you’re bringing me to see him?” she asked as we both stepped out of the car. Laughing, I simply answered, “You’ll find out soon enough.” One of the staff greeted us and led us inside. The interior was just as imposin
