Chapter 4: The Successful Surgery.
Thanks to the help of my ex-husband, my daughter was able to undergo this surgery. However, the incident was so sudden that I could not calmly receive it, my head was stunned partly because I was too worried about my daughter and now I am too suspicious about the large amount of money brought by Enzo. So the savings and the borrowing to pay the hospital fees didn't need to be used anymore, I don't know if this should be fun.
No matter how my ex-husband was, both of them were no longer husband and wife, from the day he definitively left, I was empty and helpless. I don't think badly of him, even before they both got married and after we got married I always loved him, alone. My daughter Min has never received any love from her father, I always resent Enzo for this, but for now, I must be grateful to him for saving my daughter.
At the hospital.
Dr. Jack came to bow to me, he had a different attitude after meeting Enzo's secretary.
“Mrs. Flora, Miss Robert's surgery will be on my own, you are assured, I am one of the most skilled doctors in the hospital and also the most experienced in the country.”
I was glad to hear these words from Dr. Jack, and I nodded with trembling hands, holding his hands in prayer:
“Thank you very much, Dr. Jack. I... I am so thankful to you, my daughter... Min needs your help, Dr. Jack. Thank you for helping us.”
But instead of accepting my thanks, he was somewhat frightened and confused. Jack shook his hand, his gaze on me a little restless:
"Mrs. Flora, please don't say that, this is my duty, I can't let Miss Mindian have any good orders, if I let Miss Mindian have any bad orders, I won't be able to live well either."
“Huh? What are you talking about?” - I was a little surprised by Jack's attitude, the patient's family thanked the doctor, but Jack's attitude was as frightening as if he could not complete the task.
I don't know what Dr. Jack was scared of, but I'm sure this has something to do with my ex-husband Enzo.
The day Min's surgery took place, she didn't know she had a heart condition and I didn't want her to be afraid or worried about it, but anyway Min was just a kid, no matter how much she understood the story of listening.
"Mom, why do we have to go to the hospital so much? Health checks don't need to be here that many times.” - Min sucked on a lollipop, and asked me in a soft voice.
I said, "We're just doing what we should be doing, as people, we need to come here for a check-up and get better."
But instead of obeying as always, Min shook his head and said:
“Mom lies, my teacher says there are two places in the world we don't want to go and shouldn't go, namely ‘hospital’ and ‘prison’.”
I was quite surprised when I heard Min say that, so I always wondered if Min was so smart that it wasn't a good thing, every word she said wasn't true to her age.
"So… so?" - I answered.
Before I go into the operating room I need to sign some papers, at this point I'm not in the mood to read all those documents. I watched as my daughter was gradually taken to the operating room, Min was too young to have heart disease, my poor child. In my heart, I offer my apathy and regret at the lack of interest in my daughter.
That surgery for over six hours, six hours, was like waiting six years, really too long, it felt like I'd aged a few years waiting in fear and helplessness, scared because I didn't know my daughter was suffering from the worst of this disease, helpless because I couldn't do anything but wait.
I don't know how long since I've been asleep, Dr. Jack and his assistant have been out of the operating room. I heard the footsteps and I woke up startled, looking at him with anticipation and anxiety.
“Dr. Jack, how's my daughter? Where is she? How's the surgery going?”
“Mrs. Flora, the surgery has been a success, Miss Mindian has been transferred to her room for resuscitation.”
Dr. Jack's words were like a pile of straw to save my spirits, I fell to the floor, my eyes were red, and my nose was spicy. My hands clasped together, my mouth muttered softly:
“Thank God, thank you, thank you…”
Jack held me up, his face proudly saying:
“Mrs. Flora, don't be like this, this is our duty, this is what we need to do, let me take you to Miss Mindina's restroom.”
“Okay, okay, hurry and take me to her.” - I said urgently.
In the spacious room, the main color is white with a clean and bright feeling, the place is full of amenities and full of medical equipment, and everything is always ready for different situations. Min is in the hospital bed, she is asleep, perhaps the anesthetic has not gone away or she is too tired.
Jack asked permission to leave first, his respectful attitude made it hard for me to accept it.
I sat beside Min's bed, gazing at her with affection. The body of a very weak three-year-old who was lying on the bed caused me pain and the watery eyes just blinked a tear that would fall.
Oh, dear.
"Min, you must be healthy, don't worry, I'm the only one left. If you had any bad things happen, I wouldn't be able to survive.” - I choked.
Even though the surgery was successful, it didn't make me any less worried about Min, my hands clenched, nails pressed into the palm of my hand.
_______
Min was at the hospital for a few more days so that the doctor and the nurse could monitor the health situation, I also asked for time off from work to take care of my child. I don't want her to feel sad.
"Mom, do we need to go to the hospital next time? You don't like this place.” - Min hugged my neck, his mouth softly speaking.
Her words made my heart flicker, but I still smiled softly and said:
“Rest assured, honey, we won't have to go to the hospital anymore.”
Back at the house, I suddenly thought of Enzo. Sometimes I blame him for not caring about us but I don't understand why I expect him to be in the house waiting for me to come back. Forget it. If he were here, I'd be more tired. Of course, he didn't love me in the first place.
I put Min in the living room and reminded her:
"Please turn on the television, don't be naughty, I have to prepare dinner."
Well-behaved Min nodded, I could see Min's obedience and honesty in her big round glitter eyes.
The more I looked at Min, the more she looked like Enzo, even though she has just a child but her facial features were revealed and inherited from Enzo.
I realized that after Enzo left, I remembered too much about him even though I knew him very well. He didn't love me, he took advantage of my feelings, despised my love, and never gave a little love to Min.
Thinking about what happened before, I suddenly heard a loud shout, “Mom!” Min's, I left the knife and boiling water pot without running out of the kitchen.
"What's going on?"
Min looked up at me, her hand pointing at the television screen, and said loudly:
"Mom, look, Dad on TV, Dad on TV, my Dad on TV!"
She almost make scared my heart out, I looked in curiously to watch TV. Just like Min said, Enzo got on TV, he was wearing a neat black suit, his hair was swiped back, and his face was serious and cold, which was completely different from the ugly and messy image of him when he was with me.
Chapter 88"Sir, Miss Mindian is waiting for you in the living room," the housemaid gently knocked on Enzo's office door and spoke softly, not wanting to disturb Flora's sleep.Enzo closed his book and put on his robe before heading to the living room. Mindian was already there, calmly sipping tea and awaiting her father."Have you been here for long? Why did you come here?" Enzo asked as he sat down across from Mindian. His daughter had been studying abroad for many years, and her unexpected return without prior notice had taken him by surprise."What's wrong with me coming back to my own home? Where's Mom? I want to see her." Mindian replied without hesitation, her tone indifferent.Enzo looked at his daughter, who resembled him in many ways, and sighed, "Your mother is sleeping, don't disturb her. If you have something to say, go ahead."Mindian didn't want to beat around the bush any longer. She had deliberately avoided getting involved in her parents' relationship for many years
Chapter 87In a large room, littered with empty wine bottles on the floor, a man lay disheveled on the sofa in rumpled clothing. When he finally sobered up a bit, he saw the news about Flora and Enzo spreading all over social media. Ron, still groggy from his intoxication, was astonished as he read the articles and comments on social media."Lies... they don't know anything about Flora, they've all been brainwashed by Enzo." Ron mumbled softly, running his hand through his hair.Ron tried to contact his subordinates to remove the baseless articles and posts from social media. If they had been posted this way, Flora must have seen them, and Ron blamed himself for drinking too much and not being sober enough to prevent this from happening. But what made him angry was that his subordinates couldn't take down those articles. It was as if they had been intentionally created by someone. Grinding his teeth, Ron suspected that it was all Enzo's doing. He had whitewashed himself and pinned all
Chapter 86Enzo slammed his hand forcefully on the table, his grip tight. He was seething with anger but had to restrain himself. Constantly holding back his anger in front of Flora made him want to lose control. Enzo knew he had hurt Flora too much in the past, which is why he allowed her the freedom to dance outside to forget the unhappy moments between them. But that didn't mean he would allow his wife to be swayed by another man besides him. Flora's silence only further fueled his anger; he believed her silence meant she had feelings for Ron. In Enzo's eyes, there was a burning rage and madness, and he thought he should eliminate that wretch first to erase any memories of him from his wife's mind. Enzo was overly confident, thinking that her love was so immense that it would always come back to him.Flora looked at Enzo coldly, long past the point of caring about his illogical and unreasonable arguments. It had nothing to do with Ron or Rika, after all, she had grown too weary of
Chapter 85Madian continued to run, feeling pursued by an unseen force, until she left the unfamiliar mansion. Only then did she dare to pause for a moment to catch her breath. The presence of Rollo had drawn all the guests' attention, leaving no one to notice the frantic girl."I thought I was going to die... Is that really Mr. Enzo? He almost killed me..." Madian clutched her head, still haunted by those horrifying scenes. She hurriedly drove back home without informing her father. She feared that if she didn't leave quickly, Enzo might come after her.In the guest room, only Flora and Enzo remained. Enzo had been patient, expecting his wife to comply with his wishes, making him shiver with excitement. However, he tried to maintain a calm facade.Gazing at the woman he loved lying beneath him, he knew she was not a willing participant. Yet, this was the only way Flora would allow him to touch her. Enzo removed his shirt, revealing his muscular physique, with every contour on his bod
Chapter 84Madian believed that Flora's arrogance was due to Enzo. After all, an ordinary girl could become the wife of the most powerful and wealthy man, and she would naturally display her pride and act high and mighty. However, Flora simply thought Madian was being annoying and that she wouldn't have been involved in these matters if it weren't for Enzo."You may act haughty, but don't forget your background. Now, Mr. Enzo may be interested in you, but he will soon grow tired, and then you'll be like a dog that's been chased away," Madian arrogantly stated, feeling superior as Flora didn't respond.Flora's intentions aligned with Madian's, she wanted Enzo to grow tired of her and push her away. However, Enzo was obsessed with her, a psychological disturbance that made her doubt he wouldn't let her go easily.Flora sighed in the face of these two, not knowing the depth of Madian's feelings for Enzo, but she also didn't want to care. "I hope what you're saying is true, and I'm eagerl
Chapter 83Flora, exhausted, could only lean on Enzo beside her, partly because he was holding onto her shoulders tightly, making it impossible for her to evade. In front of Flora, Mr. Hill was continuously pleading for forgiveness, causing her distress. Even though she didn't understand what was happening, she suspected that Enzo had done something to them and was putting the blame on her."Please stand up, I'm not angry about anything, you don't need to apologize to me," Flora sighed.Mr. Hill, upon hearing this, felt relieved. He looked appreciatively at Flora and then turned his gaze towards Enzo sitting beside her."My wife said that, so I can reconsider our cooperation. If there's nothing else, you can leave now; my wife is exhausted and needs some rest," Enzo waved him away, his affectionate gaze still fixed on Flora. He felt as though a warm stream flowed through him when Flora leaned on him.Mr. Hill thanked Flora repeatedly and quickly took his daughter away. He no longer co
