Rosa
They were shocked after all the explanation I gave them and even Clarissa pitied me, she knew how much I have wanted a lovely marriage and not one of this. After we ate breakfast, we all dressed up and decided to stay in watching movies but Henry suggested shopping to clear off our minds. This was the third shopping mall we would be going in and it truly walked out because I forgot almost everything going on with me. He would pay for everything that we ate and whatever thing that needed to be paid. We even took pictures together. Clarissa excused herself because there was a client causing issues at work and she said she wanted to fly back to Florida. Even though I insisted Henry following her, she said I needed someone by my side to cheer me up. We escort her to the airport and after her plane took off, we both left to another shopping mall. I walked inside the mall hand in hand with Henry. This was a dressing mall and it looked unique but not like my own, “Their mall is so beautiful or don’t you think? ” He agreed to what I said and I started picking the dresses that suit my taste. “You should call your girlfriend and inform her your best friend is about to suck you Dey and lead you bankruptcy.” I laughed and he showed me his phone. “Seriously you guys were on video call all this while, and aren’t you on plane, why are you on your phone?” She chuckled. She explained to me how the plane was stopped from flying and they had delayed their flight but she can’t leave because they’ll call for departure anytime soon. I decided to try out one of the dress and went in, after I came out, he showed Clarissa on the phone and she wouldn’t stop hyping me. “Henry, what do you think too?” I asked him, he was busy staring at Clarissa and not look at the dress. "Oh my freaking God, my friend you are beautiful." He complimented, “Is there anything that doesn’t suit your body and color huh?” He winked which made Clarissa laughed. My cheeks were burning tomatoes when I noticed someone stared hard at me. I frowned when I saw who it was. "What is it?" I asked him when he came closer to us, with his angry eyes on Henry. He glared at me and scoffed. "Did you tell him you were engaged before he took you out on this shopping spending his whole money for you huh?“ I was about answering his question but he interrupted me yet again, jezzzz. ”And you were blushing at his compliment, you sound and look more like a slut yunno.“ And that was it again. He did it again, those annoying words. ”Listen and listen carefully, I am not a slut so you mind how you regard me. I'm not your toy and just because they ask us to get married doesn't mean I wouldn’t hang out with my friends anymore.“ I hissed. ” I don’t know why you chose me but whatever reasons it might be huh, stay clear from insulting my friends and I. At least he respects his own fiancée more than you who goes around embarrassing me like this was what I wanted also.“ I glared at him before dragging Henry out of there. We paid for what we bought and left, Henry knew I was angry so he didn’t bother saying anything as to not trigger me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~WEDDIND DAY~ I glanced through the few people in the courtroom. My parents and his parents had insisted on a court wedding and I had this deadly glare directly at him. "Rosalinda Andrew, are you willing to take James Harden as your lawfully wedded husband through illness and healthy, through joy and sadness, through love and pains, you’ll never leave him but be with him forever." That question was something that could kill the spirit in me. I was getting married with someone I hardly know and with someone that doesn't give a damn about me. "Are you?"The man asked again and I nodded. "Yes I am." They asked him the same and he spent no time before he answered with a devilish grin. Whatever you might have in mind, can’t you just leave me out of it. I sigh looking at him. I suddenly smirked knowing what was next. We were asked to exchange rings and after we did that, we were proclaimed husband and wife ahd asked to kiss one another. He bend down to my lips and use his hand to support me as his lips engulfed with mine. I wouldn’t lie, I love the feeling it gave me and it seemed as though he loved it too because he didn’t want to stop as our tongue moved in rhythm. I controlled myself and break the kiss, for a moment, I seemed lost. It felt like I was enchanted to him, I just felt this feeling inside of me and I knew it wouldn’t end well. We both left the wedding hall to greet the guest while Sarah dragged me to one corner. ”What do you want now, Sarah?“ I asked her, it was annoying the way she was behaving and I hated it. ”Do you think it’s over as you had gotten married to him huh. Must you snatch him from me huh?“ I groaned in frustration and ended up laughing. ” I really thought you had grown up from the delusion of me always scratching everything from you, we both know it was quite the opposite and I won’t stop at nothing if it meant breaking you apart Sarah.” I glared at her. “Is that what you really want to do huh?” I knew I was only threatening but I can’t do it, even if they had broken me apart. I still loved them a lot. “Yes. And please stay far away from me and James, I can be dangerous and you know that I don’t just bluff.” I scoff staring at her dangerously. “You don’t know what you are getting yourself into Rosa but I’m promising you you won’t find that peace in the marriage, until you return what was rightfully mine then I wouldn’t stop at nothing to destroy your marriage.” One thing about Sarah, she knows how to threaten someone like dad but she had never successfully hurried someone except for the few stupid pranks she do pull so I knew she was just bluffing. She stormed off in anger and I sigh in relief. “Hey wifey.” I heard James voice and jumped in fright. I glared at him angrily for doing that and I hoped he hasn’t seen why had just transpired between Sarah and I. “Can you just be serious for once and stop acting annoying.” I said, he smile and took my hand softly. That was weird, what’s this guy planning again. He led me to the car which will drive us to our honeymoon apartment far from the city. I was relieved I’ll get some peace for the next few days even thought it wasn’t going to be for long. The car stopped in front of a beautiful mansion, to be honest that was beautiful, it was just like my house in Florida but more bigger than it. We entered and the mansion and stepped out of the car. Going in further, I could see there was someone in the house as the television was on. The person looked at us and smiled, “You are back baby.” She pout running to hug James and pushed me aside, I almost landed on my butt, I was more shocked to what happened next. They both kissed. Who's this woman and why did she just kiss my husband?Rosa’s POV I stared in horror, seeing the sight before me; They kissed, they fucking kissed right in front of me, I can’t believe this guy, he held unto her neck and angled her head for better access to her mouth and when she moaned, I lost it “James.” I roared, pushing them apart, “Don’t you realize that we just got married, it’s not even up to 12 hours yet and you’re already cheating on me, who the fuck is this bitch?”“Are you crazy? Who are you calling a bitch? You must be the hoe here cos how can you say you got married to someone and he’ll bring someone else to your home, you must be pretty terrible in bed for him to do that.” the girl said looking at her red-painted nails. “Calm down Dera, she’s not worth you bursting your nerve over.” James replied, pulling her towards him “James.” I called again, “Why are you doing this to me? not today of all days.” he tightened his hands around her waist and gave her ass a little squeeze “Stop it baby.” Dera giggled and stood on her tipt
Rosa’s POV Dera was on his lap and dry-humping James while he sucked on her perky boobs, he had his hands on one of her boobs and his mouth on the other while she had her hands around his head to pull him into her with her head thrown back in pleasure. I watched them in silence as pain consumed my whole being, this has been what he was up to the whole time and he locked me away for days, my heart crumbled, as tears poured out of my eyes in waves, they were so into whatever they were doing that they did not notice me, I blindly picked up the vase next to me and flung it in their direction, it hit the wall and shattered all around them on the bed. “You fucking son of a bitch, I hate you, how dare you lock me up for days without food or water? and after that, you are enjoying yourself, Fuck you.” I yelled and slammed the door. I moved out of the honeymoon house immediately and I went straight to James's penthouse in the city, I picked the room farthest from his and settled in. I woke u
Rosa’s POV We bumped into Dera when we went to the elevator and I immediately regretted what had just happened between James and I. I was married to him and wore his ring but immediately Dera jumped on James and placed a huge kiss on his cheeks, I felt worthless “I’ve been calling you for ages baby, but you weren’t picking up.” Dera sobbed James shrugged her off and pushed her away, I looked up at him in shock, he pulled me closer and planted a kiss on my cheeks. “I was spending quality time with my wife, get the fuck out, what exactly are you doing here bitch, who told you where I live”? Dera was dumbfounded and I giggled, James traced his fingers up my skirt and tried to insert them into me “Stop.” I pushed him off giggling.“You couldn't get enough of my fingers 20 minutes ago, why are you pushing me away now?” he pouted. “Later baby.” I grinned. James pulled me out completely forgetting about Dera, I turned around last minute to see her wiping away her tears. I shrugged and go
Dera’s POV I gazed at the mirror at my own reflection, trying hard to adjust my facial expressions. My blood boiled, my eyes were distant, in my heart fueled a burning desire for revenge against James’ worthless family. As I came down the stairs , my eyes met with Vivian, she waited for me in the entrance hall, her eyes were shining so brightly. “Dera all is set,” she whispered into my ears while standing by my side and handing over a folder containing the kidnapping plan. I nodded with a smile, tucking the folder into my bag. “James will never suspect a thing," I said. Vivian gave an evil smile. "Rosa will be doomed and devastated. James will definitely turn on her, and we'll reap the benefits." My thoughts went back to the past , to the moment that triggered my hatred for James. My father was broken, his bankruptcy was caused by James' father due to his ruthless tactics which left my family shattered. My mother who couldn’t bear it the most went into depression while my brothe
Rosa’s pov I carefully searched the gala, my eyes scanning the crowded room for Emma's nanny. Where was she? Why hadn't she texted?I felt so uncomfortable, I could feel danger somewhere as my heart raced faster, refusing to be controlled . My anxiety grew stronger, my heart racing with every passing moment. James tried to reassure me, but I knew something was wrong. I was too weak to be strong, my emotions took over me . "Rosa, calm down please. Emma's fine," James said, his voice soothing. But I could sense he wasn’t comfortable behind his supporting mask , he was tensed too but wanted to be brave. I looked away as I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread. “What!” I said, my voice sharp and eager as I turned back to James only to see his face pale, his eyes fixed on his phone. "James, what's wrong?" I repeated, my voice trembling. He didn't respond. He stumbled backward, his eyes wide with horror. "James!" I screamed. The room around me blurred as tears rushed to my face. "What is
Dera's POV My mind wandered back to when James stopped loving me. The day I realized I had been replaced then it wandered to when Rosa gave birth to Emma and my heart blackened with anger. Fingers clicked and I woke up from my flashback. As I sat quietly in the police station, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction and it felt overwhelming . The detective's questions had been predictable, and I answered them with ease after much rehearsal. Vivian's plan was unfolding perfectly, I knew she was smart. “Can you explain your relationship with James and Rosa?" the detective asked, his eyes narrowing while looking straight into my calm eyes, waiting for a false reply. "I'm Emma's godmother," my voice laced with concern. “I care deeply for the family." I replied while pretending to be sober The detective scribbled some notes on his pad. "We've received reports of tension between you and Rosa," He said. I looked surprised, maintaining a loving and caring composure. My eyes looked
Vivian’s POV I adjusted the beautiful diamond necklace around my delicate neck, the soft glow of the evening light dancing across my face showing off my features. As I stood before the mirror, my gaze pierced, as if searching for imperfections which I saw beyond myself. Tonight was the night. The night James would finally learn the truth. As I looked away from the mirror, Dera unexpectedly came into the room, a smile spreading across her face. "Vivian, it's time," she whispered, her voice barely audible as usual . My eyes locked onto Dera's, a spark of understanding passing between us. Our plan was carried out perfectly. Rosa was behind bars, James was devastated and soon will be ruined. I thought back to James' worried look. He paced back and forth in his study, he seemed confused and buried in conflicting thoughts, which made my heart race for joy. What if Rosa was guilty? What if she had kidnapped Emma? He said, audibly. Suddenly, I pressed the doorbell to distract him from his th
Rosa's POV I paced back and forth in my cold, dark cell, my mind racing with desperate thoughts. How did I end up here? Why did James doubt me? The sound of footsteps echoed outside my cell door. The guard unlocked it, and a figure slipped in. "Rosa, I'm your lawyer," she said, her voice firm. I nodded, relief washing over me. "What's happening?" I asked. The lawyer's expression turned plan. "The prosecution has new evidence. A witness claims to have seen you arguing with Emma's nanny." My heart sank. This was a setup. "I didn't do it," I whispered. The lawyer's eyes locked onto mine. "We'll prove it. But we need your cooperation." I nodded. "What do I need to do?" The lawyer handed me a folder. "Review this. It's the witness's statement." As I scanned the pages, my eyes widened. This was a lie. "I know who wrote this," I said. The lawyer's eyebrows raised. "Who?" "Dera," I spat. The lawyer's expression turned thoughtful. "We'll investigate." But I knew it wouldn't be easy. Dera had
Rosa’s pov Shivering in the hospital waiting room, I paced back and forth as I clutched my phone with sweaty hands—my heart racing in response to what Detective Jameson had just said."Emma’s safe, Rosa. We found her."That feeling came within a second, tears pouring out of my eyes. All I could do now was wait, the seconds never-ending, every tick of the clock amplifying my growing excitement—and stomach pains—at having sat out an entire round. Shakily, I looked toward the door hoping to see my daughter walking in so that I could hold her tiny body and again feel the warmth of those little arms around me.The minutes felt like hours. I heard voices out in the hall, muffled sounds of footsteps and talking. Every noise had me jerking my head up in hopes it would be Emma, that this wait would finally end. Finally, the door creaked open and my heart skipped a beat. There she was – my sweet Emma. There was my mother, small in frame, standing in the doorway with Detective Jameson and a ki
Dera’s povDetective Jameson’s voice cut through the cold air, “Where is Emma?” I sighed inwardly and gave up on any further pretense. “The old warehouse on 5 th and main, you will find her in the east wing, second floor.” Detective Martin tightened his eyes at me, “Is she alive?” I nodded, “Yes, she is. I didn’t hurt her.” Jameson said, “We will see about that.” In the next few minutes, the police’s radios came alive with orders to the dispatched units. I waited an eternity until the door burst open and Jameson’s face cleared. “She is safe, we found her right where you said.” I swallowed down guilt. Martin said, “Tell us about Emma’s kidnapping. How did you do it?” Briefly, I told them, from Vivian’s appearance to our elaborate plan. I admitted, “I helped Vivian take Emma at the gala party. We dismissed her maid and just took her.” After they asked me about my motives and Vivian’s role in Haylee’s death, I shook my head, “I didn’t know about this, it was all Vivian’s doing.” However,
Dera’s povWhen the news came on my TV screen, I thought for a second it was a nightmare. There was Vivian's face, her every word on the Thames air between us, releasing all those secrets I'd spent years masterminding and concealing. Each word shot through me with a sense of brutality. The room was too small and closed all around me. I stumbled backward as if the earth opened up and my legs turned to jelly. My hands shook so much that the words came out, "No," tighter and higher than Fourth of July fireworks. "This can not be happening, no."A flood of panic engulfed me — rapid and all-consuming. I felt the vise of dread squeezing every inch of oxygen out of my lungs, my chest constricting tightly. I needed to move. Now.As I exited the door, I caught my handbag and almost knocked a glass down in the process; fingers trembling as they tapped in a number only ever used for such an emergency. I shakily brought the phone to my ear and heard it ring once before a calm, steady voice I kne
Vivian’s pov An unforgiving sterile light from a sickening fluorescent bulb flickered above us. I was cold. The sort of cold that slipped in under skin and bone and crept beneath the marrow. I felt the cold seeping in through my clothes, but the metal seat under me was just as frigid—no escape, no comfort. Hugging myself as if to suppress an instinct that wanted to clutch down on something clear, corporeal. But nothing—nothing save the silence of the little, inhuman interrogation room.I could feel the shaking in my hands; weariness from the restraints around my wrists inside the hospital. Then, directly across from me, two detectives sat still as slugs, their eyes trained on my face. Detective Martin was stone-faced, his inscrutable visage unreadable except for the dark eyes that bore down on me as if they could cut through steel. Beside him was Detective Jameson, his jaw set as tight as a drum with ill-concealed disdain. Then there was every little twitch of his expression that scr
Dera’s povAs the news of my diagnosis played and replayed over and over in my head like a creepy song that gets stuck inside your brain, I stood paralyzed in front of my closet. Note — Vivian attempted suicide and was taken to the hospital. These words from my informant stung worse than I thought they would, sending chills down my spine. This wasn't supposed to happen. Vivian was meant to be the one who just won't go away, plotting her way into our lives even if she had to do it from behind bars. And now, there she lay somewhere in the liminal space between life and death, all because something—someone—had broken her beyond repair.I brought my hands to the closet, shaking, pulled out a dress and put it on. When the silk slipped down my grip, cool against my skin yet with memories rippling through my mind like wisps of smoke. Vivian had been all sorts of things on that list: an ally, a risk, a liability—but I had never thought of her as exposed. My brain spun in crazy, continuous cir
Vivian’s povSitting in my freezing, dark cell that reality started to settle down over me like a hammer on anvil. The walls—harsh, solid boulder plastered in clammy, damp stains—grew closer and closer by the second which spilt every inhalation of air until each breath became a hard task. Now this was my life, caged, shorn of strength, hunted. How had everything gone so wrong? How could it have come to pass that my entire existence, once built upon ambition, cleverness and determination, was reduced to the constraints of this wretched little cell? My hand grazed across the floor and clenched into a fist at the sensation of hard, uninviting cement under my fingertips — the only anchor keeping me tethered as bitterness washed over me like an endless tide.I thought of Haylee. And there was the ghost of her—the last shattered vision etched on my brain; those round accusing eyes fixed in a gentle beseech before the darkness descended. And James. How he had hated me, how that hate hung hea
Rosa's POVStill, I felt a chill creep into my bones, a shiver of guilt settling in; as if my secret were made flesh and blood. I cheated on James, the man I loved, with Alex. And that night haunted me, mocking me. I was living a lie, acting as if everything done was right. My behaviors throughout my day became much more random. I would say something snotty to James about the smallest things, and then instantly feel terrible. My mind would wander, reminiscing about that cold November night. James saw the difference, asked if everything was good, I said no. How could I tell him? How was I supposed to confess my cheating? Then on this day I was doing errands and ran into Alex. His eyes studied mine, a devilish grin forming on his mouth. Low, sexy, his voice whispered across the gap "Rosa." "I've missed you." My heart skipped a beat. Alex held on to my arm as I attempted to move around him. "Don't play games, Rosa. You know what we shared." All of a sudden, the guilt hit me hard and hot
James' POVI held Rosa close to my chest, feeling her warmth, her love, I knew last night was more than just making love. I knew how much it meant to her. I finally could hold the love of my life close, we have come a long way, from being enemies to falling so deeply for each other. My phone buzzed on the nightstand, breaking the silence. I silenced it, not wanting to disturb Rosa, but it buzzed again, almost Immediately, I wondered who could be disturbing my phone while I was trying to rekindle my love for Rosa. I carefully excused myself from Rosa's grasp, trying not to wake her. But as I moved, she stirred, her eyes fluttering open."James?" she whispered, her voice husky from sleep. I smiled, my heart skipping a beat."Go back to sleep," I whispered, brushing a strand of hair from her face. But Rosa's eyes remained open, locked onto mine. Tension. I hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. Gaze narrowed."What about?""What's wrong?" she asked, sensing my"Detective Martin called," I
Dera’s PovI settled into my leather armchair wearing nothing but my red panties, staring at nothing, cradling my whiskey glass in my hands. The dim lighting of my apartment cast long shadows on the walls, a fitting backdrop for my twisted thoughts. My phone buzzed on my glass table, breaking the silence. I picked it up, my eyes scanning the text sent by an unknown number"Vivian's lawyer is pushing for a deal.”My lips curled into a sly smile as I typed out a response."Make sure it doesn't happen.”The plan was unfolding perfectly. Rosa suspected nothing. But Vivian...Vivian knew. She'd always known. Memories flooded my mind - our past, our twisted games. Vivian had been so blinded by love and trust towards me. And I'd used that. Exploited it. Now, Vivian sat in prison, unaware of the true enemy. Me.I can’t let her harm the man I loved , I am the only one permitted to harm him .The doorbell rang, distracting me from my deep thoughts. Slide into my rob then moved towards the door"U
