" shit this can't be happening now " I mumbled once I read the case I'm handling. See im a cop, I deal with all kinds of crimes I'm almost at the top but my superior make some work my ass off." do I really have to handle this case,its too personal for me Joe" I told my boss 

He shook his head" that's your case till the end, now I want you to go make that arrest as in like now before the suspect makes a run for it " he shooed me 

I sighed then got out of his office to go to my joint office with Mark my partner in this whole thing" sup witchu looking like a bomb was placed in your brain" mark said making me mug him.

" I feel like shit hey,i slept like 3 hours ago, had to take my princess to the doctor...had an asthma attack " I said

" she alright now?" he asked 

I nodded" yeah, George stayed home looking after her today so I just need to get into this case and really know what's up coz this some messed up shit! " I exhaled hard.

" let me see" he said,i then gave him the file, he read it and gasped

" stop looking at me like that -i have to do this and you helping me so get your butt up and let's go" I said

" since your fat ass is up go start up the car i'll follow you " he smirked.

I laughed once I processed everything he just said" nah you're nasty Mark seriously, be quick though" I left as he got up, looking at my ass, yeah I know my ass is fat AF in this uniform so what it's my job and I love it.

I drove us around but made a quick stop to my mama's house " wait here I'm gon check something " I said 

" how long you gon be?" he asked while raising his brow at me

" long as I can be, just watch out around here them lil boys just know when to fuck a cop's car " I said laughing 

" man whatever -hurry your ass up" he said, I nodded then took a long breath before actually knocking on my mama's door " hey mama " I said while hugging her after she opened her door.

" yes baby girl, why you here in your uniform? " she asked, I sighed then went to take a sit at the island chair" baby girl your butt better start talking -did Britt have another Asthma attack? " she asked and I nodded " oh baby,where is she? " she asked 

" at home with her daddy -mama that's not even why I'm here, where's Junaid at?" I asked, making her give me a questionable look

" he left last night and hasn't came back yet -he stopped with those illegal car stealing things 3 years ago Lexa..so don't tell me he-" I cut her off

" no I know all of that, it's something else which I can't tell you now mama -" she cut me off 

" firstly don't cut me off when I'm talking Alexa or you gon get it,secondly why can't you tell me? His my son your brother so whatever he did can't be that bad for you to not tell me. " she sighed " what did he do?" she asked again

" I'm sorry mama but I'm not allowed to say anything until this is a solid case so please let me know when he gets back or if he calls or anything " I pleaded,making her sigh

" I don't know when that boy will stop with all this nonsense his -" she was cut off by my baby sis Claudine coming to hug me

" what are you doing here on a monday?in your uniform?" she asked

" work stuff boo,why ain't you at school?" I asked 

" I have an afternoon class, so what's up? You here to arrest Junaid shame you're too late you won't find him anytime soon" she said, making me raise my brow

" and what does that mean? " he flew out to Cape Town last night after the massive party we went to, his ass disappeared on me again, but he did text saying something about being back tomorrow morning " she said making me nod my head

" I left my partner in the car I better get going, Dine let Junaid know that he needs to get back here tonight or his gon get arrested by the cops in Cape Town then it's gon be hard for me to get him out quick so please" I pleaded

" sure thing, let me guess you not gon tell us what his arrested for?" she asked or told me not sure, I nodded" aight see you some other time I was on my way out anyway mind giving me a lift?" she asked 

" sure-mama i' ll see you around tell daddy I said hi, i'll drop Brittney off tomorrow morning coz she can't go back to school yet and George has somethings to do I'm guessing "

" never gon happen now let me go do my actual job coz you sure is irritating my ass " I said then got up and left....i told Mark to fix us the interrogation room as I went to call the person who opened a case against my brother..." Mrs Carter? " I question soon as the other line answered

" this is she-and who is this?" she asked politely 

" this is Alexa Smith,Detective Smith that is,im handling your case so I would like for you to please come to the station with who ever opened the case so that I can do a lil questioning so that the process can go faster?" I asked hoping she says yes.

" with pleasure, we'll be there in 20 minutes, thank you" she said 

" the sooner y'all get here the better for all of us " I said then hang up,she may be polite and nice but this is my brother's life she's playing with so imma get to the bottom of this! 

" Miss Jackson? Or should I say Mrs Smith? " someone said behind me making me turn way too quick only to be met by my bestie.

" that's me, and who may you be?" I asked eyeing the lady infront of me and someone was behind her, scared as hell.

The lady dragged the young girl inside and whispered something in her ear which made her straitened out" uh yes Selina Carter mother to Rosa Carter,i believe we did open a case against a Junaid Jackson" she said like it's a normal thing to say we'll it is but damn why my brother though 

" that's correct, who is the case opened for -i mean which one of you Is the accuser?" I asked since it's both of them

" I don't mean no disrespect Mrs Carter,i know you're worried about your daughter but we have to talk to her alone since she's the one who was endangered?" I said

" I guess so,just don't be grilling my daughter, shes going through so much right now" she said making me nod my head,just then Mark came back with another set of pants damn shame

" this is the accuser?" Mark asked referring to the young lady,i nodded" oh well let's get started then he said sitting down, I sat besides him but shifted when he started rubbing on my thigh

" stop that Mark I mean it!" I whispered harshly at him...he smirked, like he was making me feel anything nada!i looked at the girl" Rosa right?" I asked, she nodded" mind telling me what happened and how we are here? " I asked.

She shook her head and whispered " tell my mother to leave!" 

Making me question her" she left yes, waiting for you on the other side of this room, now start talking young lady why are we here? Why are you here?" I asked it's my job to just be this aggressive. 

" don't snap at me like that! -but I'm here coz I need to be here, so I'm here...." she snapped, I just lost it right there,but Mark held me down 

" lil girl, get your mindset right, we trying to help you out now don't make us regret helping you out!" Mark said harshly
