82. Looking for bright spots.

"How are Nadine, mom and dad? Are they okay?" Amanda exhaled a long breath, sitting about a meter away from the edge of the pool. She was enjoying the air outside the mansion on a quiet fall night.

She daydreamed unobstructed as she crossed her legs, looking up at the sky so dark, but it didn't scare her.

Aunt Rosemary searched all over the place for Amanda, calling her name, not knowing that she was near the pool. The servants in the mansion were confused by the sudden disappearance of their mistress.

"What if Miss Amanda ran away? What should we say to Mr. Oriaga, huh?" Their faces showed panic, fearing that Amanda was missing and the risk they would have to take afterward.

"Hush!" Aunt Rosemary glared. "Run away where, huh? She can't climb a wall that high. Don't think bad thoughts."

"I don't want to think badly, I'm just guessing. Don't we all know that Miss Amanda is desperate to escape from this mansion?"
