32. Final decision.

"Amanda. Where have you been since—"

"Just sign the marriage offer, Mom. I won't dodge anymore." Amanda walked past her mother, and she had no energy to fight back, and she was trapped and forced to play the game.

Pamela paused, thought, and then smiled. She had intended to go to Amanda, who had just disappeared behind the bedroom door, but when Amanda slammed the door, Pamela understood.
