Chapter 7: Come Home

Stanley's POV:

Now that I thought about it carefully, dad is never around when granny comes home. Is he scared of her? Did he lie about a business trip and just wanted to run?

'Mother, come in first. You must be tired,' Mother said and we all walked in.

The servants served some coffee, I kept glancing at granny. If she is against this wedding, then I might have a way out of this.

I will leave Kimberly immediately and go accompany Jennet.

Then she spotted grandpa's picture on the wall and walked towards it. They have always been like cats and dogs. I wonder why they left their kids to get married If they hated each other so much.

'Old man, you think you won' she pointed at the picture angrily, Kyle couldn't hold her laughter so she burst out in one.

Mom glanced at her angrily, but it was too late as she already attracted granny's attention.

'How old is your wife?' she asked.

'Eighteen' I said in one go, she was still too young.

'Hmm,' grandma nodded and thought for a while, what she said next made me want to roll down in laughter.

'Kyle is eighteen as well, you guys dare marry someone else's eighteen-year-old daughter to my grandson. Then let this old man watch as I marry off this eighteen years old granddaughter to someone else'

Kyle's eyes widened in shock, she glared at mom who gave her a consoling look.

'Where is your wife? Tell her to come here now.' She stared at me and waited. I was now nervous because I don't have her cell number.

'Go on, call her and give the phone to me' she insisted and I gave mom a helpless look. Why was this old lady so nosy?

Kyle saw the state I was in, and I could swear she understood my situation.

'I…. I ran out of airtime.' Luckily, I found an excuse.

'The heir of the Williams empire lacks airtime? Kyle calls now' granny scoffed then ordered Kyle.

Kyle dialed Kimberly's cell and handed the phone to granny.

'Kyle…' Kimberly's voice echoed from the other side.

'Do you know who is talking? It's granny… come home now or you will hear it from me' she scolded and hung up

Kimberly's heart raced increased as she heard the rude grandmother's warning.

'What happened? Who called' Layla asked, seeing her shocked expression.

'An old lady, I need to go to the Williams mansion now' Kimberly picked up her bag and car keys in haste.

'Wait, what about the bonfire? It starts soon,' Layla reminded her. Kimberly couldn't think about that.

The old lady's voice sounded scary, and she didn't want to offend such a person.

'I will call you' She said and hurried to her car before driving away.

Soon, she parked the car in front of the mansion before rushing in. The first person she spotted was the old lady standing in the middle of the sitting room and tapping her leg. As soon as the old lady spotted Kimberly, she first glanced at the clock.

'Twenty-eight minutes' she said and walked towards Kimberly.

She glanced at her from head to toe before sighing, she was a small and fragile lady.

'Good day ma'am' Kimberly said nervously and Stanley glared at her angrily. He saw that she held his precious car keys in her left hand.

'Is there no food? Why are you so tiny?' the old lady started her complaints.

'And why are you dressed so dull? No makeup and no jewelry. Are you supposed to be the daughter-in-law of the Williams family?'

Kimberly stared down embarrassed, she is a high school student and dressed as one. But now she is being criticized.

'Mother, lunch is ready' Mrs. Williams said immediately after she saw the maids serving the table. Her mother loved to talk a lot and it was unbearable at times.

'Kimberly come on,' Mrs. Williams said and she nodded before walking to the dining table with the whole family.

She was a little close to Kyle, so she whispered to her.

'Don't your school have a bonfire as well? Won't you attend'

Kyle stared at her grandmother angrily, then she pouted like she had no other choice.

'The bonfire means sleeping over, my grandmother will not allow me out of this place'

Kimberly lost all her hopes of going to the bonfire, if the old lady couldn't allow a single lady like Kyle to go then what about her who is known as 'Mrs. Williams;'.

While they were busy eating, the old lady kept glancing at Kimberly's stomach that she felt uncomfortable.

'I brought some traditional herbs that help for easy pregnancy' she said and Kimberly choked on her food.

She was still in college for God's sake.

As if on cue, Kyle handed her some water. From this moment she felt that this old lady won't let her go.

'Mother, let's eat first' Mrs. Williams said and the old lady didn't say anything further.

Kimberly's POV:

After lunch I was still in a state of shock, does my parents know about this? They gave me out for marriage at such a young age and now this old lady wants a great-grandchild.

'You both are young couples, why don't you go home first?' Mrs. Williams said and I sighed in relief.

'Of course, we will leave then' I said immediately, stood up to leave and Stanley did the same.

'Wait' the old lady's voice echoed from behind.

'Why are your fingers so empty? I don't see any wedding ring' she frowned angrily and then turned towards Mrs. Williams.

'First, my grandson didn't get a huge wedding, and now his wife doesn't dare wear a ring?' she scolded me and I trembled in fear.

Why has Stanley not said anything since I came, is he also afraid of this old lady?

'No mother, of course, there is a ring. I wanted to give it to her at the right time' Mrs. Williams said, then she hurried upstairs to her chambers.

'Young lady listened to me, during our time. We don't dare go to school when married, but the Williams family has permitted you to continue your studies because someone smart needs to be by my grandson's side' her gaze didn't leave me while talking, I could feel my blood flow through the wrong direction.

'So, I will give you a one-time warning. As a married woman, you need to have the ring on your finger every time. Even in school, if not then I will think you plan to cuckold my grandson. And no woman or man dares to cuckold someone from my family'

She said and I felt like laughing, her grandson cheated on me after a few hours we moved in. What will she do if she finds out about this?

I glared at Stanley who looked away. Am sure he understood my glare.

Soon enough, Mrs. Williams walked back down with a ring box.

'Kyle come here, hold this' she said and Kyle nodded before holding the ring.

'You both come closer' the old lady said, I stood facing Stanley. He gave me an angry look and I did the same.

'There, take a ring' 

I stared at the sparkling ring, if I wear this to school then everyone will know I am married, I can't afford this risk.

Stanley picked a ring and stared at me, his lips twisted in disgust as he took my hands and inserted the ring.

I picked the other ring, he had a funny face when angry. He stares at me in disgust like I was something his eyes didn't like.

Just then

Bamp

The ring fell off my hands and rolled under the couch.

'You clumsy lady' the old lady scolded before turning towards the picture of old Williams.

'I hate you, if I had known this day would have come then I wouldn't have allowed my daughter to marry into your family' she scolded at the picture angrily before facing me.

'Why are you standing there? Get the ring' she yelled out. I was so frightened and crouched down to look below the couch.

I found the ring and walked back towards Stanley.

I could see how hard he was holding his laughter in, even Mrs. Williams had a smile, and they were all laughing at me.

'Go on, do you know what privilege you have marrying the pride of our family?' she scolded and Stanley had a proud look.

Pride huh? I sneered before holding his hands. They were soft and smooth; how could someone's hands be this smooth? I shook my head and inserted the ring.

'Good, now what's that stuff young couples do after?' the old lady said deep in thought.

'Kiss' Kyle said with a smile and the old lady nodded.

'Yes, Kiss….go on' she said and my eyes widened in shock.

I was not going to give my first kiss to a jerk.
