Chapter 2: Demon In The House

'Kawaii'. It's a japanese word for expressing cuteness and sort. Yes. I learned it from all the animes and it became a habit of mine to sometimes say these things instead of the normal dialogue. It's hella embarrassing and I never say these kinds of things in front of other 'uncultured' people. After all I don't want them looking at me as an idiot who has lost his mind….. so…... WHY DID I SAY THAT???!!!!

Dang it. Everyone is looking at me in confusion and this silent treatment is killing me. I cleared my throat and tried to change the subject. 

''Who might you be?'' I don't know why but the moment I said that, Dad's expression changed and looked at me pissed. 

Dad: Listen here brat. I don't know what jokes you're playing at but that was a rude thing to say to your twin sister.

What! Twin-!!!???? Sister???!!! What is going on. A dream? This might be a dream. I pinched myself hoping it would work but nothing happened. It's real. What kind of a twist is this. I had a twin for nineteen years- I mean twenty years and know nothing of it? And no matter how you look at it there was no way she is my twin. I'm an average looking dude with black hair and fairly taller than most guys with pitch black eyes. While on the other hand. Looking at her reminds me of the ocean. Blue silky hair with mesmerizing sky blue eyes and a cute figure of a normal teenage girl. She's captivating me the more I stare at her. Something is definitely wrong here. 

Mom: Stop it with that look. It's your birthday. Or are you mad we did that. You know what happens when you fall asleep on your birthday. Haha. Anyway here is your gift. Happy Birthday once again.

She passed on to me her gift with a warm smile and then hugged me tight. I guess I will solve this later. It's my birthday after all…..-???? Wait! That's it! It's my birthday. 

I looked over to the girl and with a calm smile I asked, ''Hey sis. What did you get for your birthday?''

???: Ohh come on bro. You know today is not my birthday. -acting cute-

''That's impossible. Don't you think so?  'Twin'  sister.'' I said so while keeping up with my fake smile. 

The moment I said that, as if she realised something bad, her expression changed. Suddenly the look on my family members changed too and their faces seemed blank and they passed out on the spot. I was stunned. 

''What did you do?!!" 

I looked over to the girl and to what I described as an angel who fell from the sky, her face now is no closer to that of a demon. 

The room was silent and the night was darker than ever. The fog had settled in our part of the town and all that could be heard was the neighbours dog barking. I collected my cool and tried to remain as calm as possible while I am still on the bed and  keeping some distance from her and myself. Then she spoke. However this time. It wasn't in the least cute at all. 

???: This is unexpected. I don't know if it was just a fluke or my miscalculation but somehow you escape my Mind Manipulation Spell. In all my years training only those higher than me can do so. So why is it that a mere human was not affected? 

She said that with complete confusion and anger at the same time. She is trying to figure out the cause and stared dead in my eyes. But somehow it did not feel like she was staring at me but rather in me. Just a feeling. I felt her malicious gaze and 'presence' in the room. I bit my tongue and calmly replied with great caution. 

"I don't get what you are saying but let me ask you something. You. You're not human, aren't you? You break into our house. Somehow hypnotised my family and now you're talking of these things about spells. It's not normal.- Who are you?''

???: Don't compare me to a human, 'human'! Here I am thinking this would be an easy piece of cake for me. And 'She' even went as far as choosing this family for me saying that it's the best choice and I would pass in no time. Who would have thought I would fail the first night? How infuriating!

''Ahem. So you were sent here? Who sent you and what is your motive doing these things?''

???: My motive? You think that I would just let you in on my motive?! I would rathe--. Actually. Let me tell you my motive and that too promise to not tell anyone. If you do so. Don't blame me if I wipe you off existence. I can just take your place after that. It's not like your family would care anyway. After all. They won't remember you at all. 

''Then why not just do that?'' 

She was pissed hearing that.

???: You dare question me? For one thing you manage to escape my first spell and until I am done finding out the cause for this and how you manage to escape it. I won't just erase you. Yet. Until then I suggest you cooperate. 

She seemed more pissed now. I wanted to ask her more about her motive but I guess I will confirm my first question first. 

"You keep calling me human. And judging from the way you spoke, I take it for sure now that you are not human but I don't know what you are exactly. And I cannot promise to help you with so less information. I mean how do I know if you're telling me the truth or just bluffing nonsense. 

She looked me straight in my eyes and with no hesitation and being dead serious she said. 

???: I am a Demon. 

A Demon. Yes she was. However I was no longer surprised. But considering everything that had happened. I kind of already expected something like this. All I could do is to accept this nonsense. It's too late to hesitate now seeing everything with my own eyes. 

???: You don't seem surprised. How strange. You speak of me not being normal but you're not one to speak either. 

''Was that a compliment? Anyway I still have not decided to help you. After all you did not give me a proper explanation of your motive and I don't know if what you're aiming for is good or bad. For starters. Do you mind if I ask  for your name?''

???: One thing after another. You really piss me off. I don't have an obligation to tell you more of my motive. However. As for my name. I don't really have one. Not yet. 

What was that???!! Her expression there at the end when she talked about not having a name. It changed. Like she is disturbed. -gulp- I don't know what this will do but i wonder if I can give it a try. 

''Then why don't I name you. It's annoying to mention someone with no name after all.''

???: Huh? What are you talking abou-

''Ohh the fog is quite beautiful tonight. Let's see. Yes! I will call you KIRI.''

???: Hahaha. You? Giving me a name? What a joke. As if that's going to - - ?????

Before she could even finish talking. Suddenly the room became dark and a kind of a magic circle in black outline filled the room. I was so shocked and was not able to move. So was she. Then suddenly from the magic circle two black chains came out and bound her neck and the other bound my right wrist. They soon disappeared. Magic circle and all. There was not even a mark on my wrist. It seemed so long yet over in an instant that we could not even react to it. 

I looked at her and saw her disarray figure as she fell to her knees and muttered.

Kiri: Thi- This is impossible!!
