Meredith stepped out of the shower feeling rejuvenated. She was definitely exhausted from lack of sleep but her run helped her refocus and she was able to gain control over her emotions. She grabbed a towel and wrapped it around herself as she washed her face and brushed her teeth.

She hadn't seen Brayden anywhere when she came in and assumed he must have gone to bed. The both of them got very little sleep the night before and were running on empty. Meredith found a pajama short set in her clothes that the butler, she assumed, put away.

It was a black La Perla short set. The top was a super soft crew neck short sleeve shirt with large black scalloped lace at the end of the sleeves. The shorts that fell just above mid thigh also had scalloped black lace at the ends. Merdith let her hair down and went in the bedroom.

Brayden was asleep on his back with no shirt and the bedding had slipped down a bit exposing part of his bare chest. Meredith adjusted the bedding

Meredith was standing in the Swiss Alps with her husband Brayden on their honeymoon. She had woken up before the sun and her line of thinking to go with the flow, she decided to wake Brayden up by licking and kissing him. She wasn’t sure why she had done it other than she felt like it and that’s the flow she was following. Brayden had returned the favor but before she could find out how far it would have gone, they were interrupted by his alarm. Brayden had whisked Meredith off to the top of the mountains and she had been enjoying herself. That is up until the moment they ‘coincidentally’ came across Mizuki. There was no way that Mizuki could have accidentally shown up. Meredith had been going with the flow and doing whatever she felt so she could reflect on it later to better understand herself and her feelings. Or something like that. She wasn’t entirely sure what her shrink had meant but the suggestion to find a way to release her stress had worked a

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 114: Mine

Meredith had spent the rest of the day working on her control and just getting the feeling of her skis because of course Brayden didn't rent skis he bought them both new skis. Meredith was definitely rusty and Brayden was concerned as he watched her attempt to take the advanced runs.Meredith had a focused look on her face as she went back up and took the run again a little bit better but not well enough to take on the Swiss Wall, thought Brayden. All he could do is hope they backed out. He didn't want to spend his honeymoon in the hospital by Meredith's bed. Finally she had relented and asked him to take her to the hotel. Brayden's relief was only temporary though. Meredith said she wanted to go to the closest hotel to the Swiss Wall. All he could do was drop his head and comply. Meredith was determined. So Brayden took her to a small quaint room in Champery. They were at a quaint hotel on the top floor in suite that had a sitting area, two balconies, and Mered

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 115: Do or Die

Meredith stood between Mizuki and Brayden. Brayden wasn’t really paying attention to either of them. He wasn’t sure how he felt about Mizuki and her recent actions. He had never seen her act that way before. Although he hadn’t dated or brought any other women around her before. She was clearly jealous, which was flattering but she seemed to be taking it too far by trying to get his wife killed on the Swiss Wall.He sighed and waited for them to hopefully back down and this nonsense. Then he could go back to bed with Meredith. He had wanted Meredith to go back to normal, whatever normal was. He did like that he could get so close to her without her pulling back or shutting him out.Still there was a coldness behind her eyes. It concerned him. He had tried to think about when it started. He couldn’t remember if it was before she went

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 116: What Ifs

Brayden had quickly shuffled Meredith back to their hotel. Mizuki had tried calling several times. Brayden had been too focused on making sure Meredith really was alright so he ignored the first few attempts but when Mizuki had called him in excess of twenty times she finally decided maybe Meredith somehow got Brayden to not answer her calls. Mizuki tried calling Meredith.Meredith was at the spa of their hotel and had left her phone in their room to charge when Brayden saw that Mizuki was calling Meredith's phone. He sighed and picked it up."Mizuki.""Bra-Brayden!" Mizuki was shocked that Brayden had answered. "Where are you? Did you make it down okay?""Mizuki don't call me anymore. And don't call my wife." Brayden didn't tell her that lightly. He sighed deeply."B-but…why?" Mizuki was frantic. "Brayden we have been friends for years. We're best friends.""Look Mizuki, Meredith is—""Meredith told you not to talk to me

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 117: What's Wrong

Meredith had been quietly thinking of what ifs and what nots and how things would have been if not for the Death Contract. Would her and Brayden’s have crossed paths? Yes. But what would have come of it? She was in deep thought trying to think of who he really was a bully or…“What are you thinking?” Brayden interrupted Meredith’s inner thoughts as she stared out the window of the restaurant at the Swiss Alps. Meredith slowly turned to look at Brayden. She stared into eyes for a moment.“What if you never bullied me, what if we actually dated like normal people,” Meredith said solemnly. She wasn’t asking him to answer the question she was simply answering him. “Would we have actually loved or even liked each other…” Her voice trailed off at the end as she turned her focus slowly back out the wi

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 118: Ultimate Access

Meredith couldn’t believe that Brayden kept talking to women when he had explicitly told her he wouldn’t and to top it off it was in the middle of the night. She had already dealt with Mizuki, which she was actually kind of disappointed about because she had really liked her when they first met. Most things are too good to be true. Like her marriage or Death Contract that chained her to this man who said she was a reflection of him and he would never let any sort of scandal reflect on her and thus indirectly on him as well.Meredith had that little nagging voice in the back of her mind that told her to trust Brayden. But she ran for hours on the treadmill so that she didn’t have to listen to that voice. She knew what had happened. There was no denying it. Brayden had received a call around 12

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 119: Late Night

Meredith had walked into Brayden's shower even though he had told her not to. But that was then and maybe he would let her slide. She had spent the whole day in and out of whatever they were doing. She couldn't get her mind off of what Brayden had said to her earlier. 'You have access to all of me. You and you alone.' He was right. She had access to everything that belonged to him. If he were to ever divorce her there was no prenup. She lived with him, shared meals with him, and had shared showers with him. That was the ultimate access if she thought about it. But something was missing and she wasn't sure why she was so unsettled by it. Her shrink had told her to go with the flow and reflect. Meredith thought that was what she had been doing. She had been trying to at least. She sighed and thought to herself that she needed to really focus on those two things. She had barely seen anything that Brayden had showed her and forgot the taste of the cheese

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 120: Truths

Meredith was drinking coffee still wearing that very short red slip negligee. She had one leg folded under her as she sat in the small sitting area in their hotel bedroom. Brayden was sitting in the chair next to her with just a small table separating them.Brayden told Meredith that they weren’t leaving until the next morning so they still had the whole day to do whatever they wanted. Whatever Meredith wanted. She hadn’t time to think what that might be because Brayden had something important he wanted to talk to her about.Meredith was sipping her coffee still as she waited for Brayden to tell her what they needed to talk about. She was watching his eyes over her coffee cup as he was having a hard time focusing while she was dressed in what she referred to as her ‘pajamas.’“You&rsquo

Meredith was thoroughly enjoying the garden party. There were immaculate flowers, greenery and shrubs delicately sprinkled around the greenest lushest lawn Meredith had ever seen. She had gotten so many compliments on her outfit. Of course, she gave all the credit to Brayden who had picked it all out. Brayden charmed all the women without even saying anything, when he did they were almost faint.Meredith shook her head at it all and went about the party trying every bit of the au d'oeuvres that were presented. If she found one that was exceptional she would pop it in Brayden’s mouth. Brayden didn’t complain because he loved watching Meredith doing this little dance of the foodie. The Baxton’s finally caught up with Meredith and Brayden near the sushi station where Meredith was trying a mini dragon roll. Brayden was talking to a well known architect and promising to stop by and take a look at his home designs.“I see you two made it okay,” Dave Baxton greeted he chuckled watching Mere

Meredith and Brayden had finished their fourth and last jump of the day. They had been at the Chicagoland Skydiving Center for nearly the whole day. They were having so much of a fun time it felt like time flew by and before they knew it they were on jump four and starting to wear out a bit. They thanked Steve and scheduled to come back in a week to go over more ground training and get some more jumps in. Then they headed on their way.“I’ll drive. You’re exhausted, babe,” Brayden said and he opened the passenger seat for Meredith to get in.“It’s just an excuse to drive my car.”“Maybe”“Did you like it really?” Meredith asked with a yawn as Brayden slid into the driver’s seat.“I loved it! I think we should do jumps on Saturday and Sunday. Eight jumps a week and we can get to two hundred in no time.” Brayden looked like he was grinning, which to anyone else would look like a small smile. Meredith knew her husband was excited and so was she. Brayden drove towards Schaumburg and foun

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 209: Mystery Date

Meredith woke up earlier than usual for a Saturday. She had a long night and had only managed to squeeze in a few hours of sleep. Still she felt refreshed and with excitement that her husband was slightly afraid of. He of course had been up long before she opened her eyes.Brayden recalled the kayaking date, which was fun with a hint of danger being him falling into the river with Meredith laughing. But that was nothing compared to her jumping down the Swiss Wall. And while they were separated Brayden had no idea what Meredith had been up to. Jacob had been very vague with his reports.Brayden, who wasn’t sure how to dress for wherever Meredith was taking them, opted for casual attire. He wore a pair of Bruno Magli Italian leather sneakers in a dark burnished chestnut color. He had on a pair of Brunello Cucinelli navy cashmere creased sweatpants and a white Tom Ford t-shirt under a black The Row cashmere zip up hoodie. He followed Dino into the kitchen where he first fed Dino then pre

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 208: Advantage

Meredith and Brayden took the elevator down to Brayden’s office. Brayden seemed to be deep in thought so Meredith decided not to interrupt. Finally just as they entered Brayden’s office he turned to her and raised an eyebrow.“What?” Meredith asked, confused.“What’s going on tomorrow?” Brayden asked in a serious tone.“I just decided to pick up a new hobby and thought it would be great if you came with me,” Meredith gave her best I’m-an-angel smile and puppy dog eyes.“As long as you aren’t planning on jumping off the side of a mountain again.” Brayden moved in close to his wife and searched her eyes.“Not at the moment,” Meredith smirked. Brayden leaned in to kiss the smirk off Meredith’s face. She reached around his waist and he wrapped her in his embrace as they both sighed a calming peaceful sigh simultaneously.“If you want to move back to the condo let’s make it happen.” Brayden conceded. “I don’t care where I live as long as I’m with you.” Meredith looked up into Brayden’s sin

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 207: Nervous

Meredith was on her way out the office to have lunch with Brayden before they went to see his father to talk about the CEO position. Brayden had felt very strongly about securing the title. So much so that he had coerced a random stranger in the elevator into marrying him. Meredith sighed in relief as she walked out of her building and saw Sean waiting with the familiar Mercedes to take her to the Maxwell Sharpe building. She had on her black belted pleated short sleeve Burberry dress and her strappy Louboutin stiletto sandals. “It’s good to see you, Sean. Thank you.” Meredith said as she reached the car. “It’s good to see you too, Mrs. Maxwell.” Sean responded. Meredith smiled and got into the car and they were soon on their way. Meredith was slightly nervous about

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 206: Cold

Meredith felt that familiar thumping and the pounding through her body as her feet hit the treadmill mat in her building’s workout room. She looked out the window at the natural light shining in the already bright workout space and smiled. She no longer needed to run as an escape or to be strong enough to push things down in order to be a perfect Maxwell. This time she had chosen Brayden and they truly were a united team going into things. As she was running she remembered her parents’ had been suspicious about her relationship with Brayden. Maybe they should look for a new home. It would be weird if Meredith had told her parents that they were getting a new place and they just kept the old one. Meredith shrugged to herself, and started her cooldown. Technically her apartment was a new place for them. And t

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 205: Meredith's David

Meredith woke up in her husband's arms and didn’t want to get out of bed. She sighed and picked up her phone and pressed the button to light up the display flashing the time before her eyes. Another sigh and a light groan later and she was getting out of bed and headed into her shared walk-in-closet and chose something to wear from her work wardrobe. She picked a Tommy Hilfiger pencil skirt with front faux zippered pockets. She paired it with a pair of BCBG black pumps and her Eileen silk top. Meredith got washed and dressed and grabbed her Michael Kors bag and headed out for work. She texted Jacob as she walked from her apartment to her job and made sure that was going to send Brayden home on time and make sure that he ate lunch. Meredith decided she was going to nag about this for the week. She d

“No secrets, Mere.” Taylor was looking Meredith up and down and her outfit. She knew Meredith had kept her ‘billionaire wardrobe’ at Brayden’s for whatever reason but was now suddenly wearing them. “I can’t wear them?” Meredith tried to feign ignorance to no avail. Taylor just gave her a look and Alyssa was still confused. “Isn’t Brayden your husband?” Alyssa asked, having never met him but heard stories. “I don’t understand. Do you have separate homes?” “Yes. Sort of.” Meredith responded and Taylor raised an eyebrow as the server dropped off more drinks. “We separated.” “What!” Alyssa gasped while Taylor casually picked up her drink and waited for Meredith to get to the part she was interested in; why Meredith was wearing clothes that were at Brayden’s. “We missed each other. He's moving in my place and we are working things out.” Meredith shrugged then began to sip her drink as well. She had gotten a lemonade so she wouldn’t have to worry about Clinton popping up and carrying he

  • My Death Contract   Chapter 203: No Secrets

Brayden wanted to help Meredith get rid of her Christian problem. Meredith didn’t really want Brayden involved at all. If she had needed help she would have called Jacob but she wasn’t ready to go that route. In all actuality, Meredith was hoping Christian would get the clues and bold hints she had for him that she wasn’t interested.“If it gets too much for me to handle, I’ll let you know.” Meredith told Brayden over some twenty-three layer chocolate cake that she had picked up earlier. Brayden picked the dessert wine and as always Meredith was loving the combination and they accented one another.“I was worried you would say that. Meredith, I want to be with you. Hopefully that’s a little more obvious by me moving in but for this to work I think we are going to need some sort of structure.”
