EP4 UNEXPECTED ARRANGEMENT

"Thomas' latest ship coming with a lot of goods sank. It is said to have contained goods worth billions of dollars." The phone almost fell from her hands when she read the headline of the news.

She clicked on it and was more shocked to know this had happened since last month.

"During this month it has been said that every single investor has withdrawn from their companies. So has not let his bad reputation ruin theirs. It is said that their company has finally gone bankrupt and they can't even afford to pay their employees. " WOULD THE THOMAS BE ABLE TO RISE AGAIN?'

That was when it dawned on her the reason why he blocked her card and other stuff.

She went straight to the comment session, to be met with different insulting comments.

"Guess it's time for their family to hit the rock bottom."

"That explains why his daughter's card was declined the other day at the mall,"

"If she had found something to do when her dad was suffering with the loss now, she would have been able to help."

"Wonder what's sort of insolent child she is to her parent,"

"Now she would know what it feels like to be a lowlife she loves calling people."

Chloe screamed so loud that her voice could be heard outside of the mansion. She scurried into her room and slammed her door. She couldn't believe that their family would hit rock bottom soon. How would she face her friends? She picked up her phone and called Aiden but he wasn't picking up, she called over and over again but he didn't pick up. She held her cushion close to her face crying sadly. "No I can't, I can't become poor overnight, no…" she screamed once again.

"Not long after she began hearing noise outside her window, she peered through, and there she saw the press sweeping all through the house demanding to talk to her and her family. Some guards could be seen stopping them from storming into their houses. Chloe sadly smiled to herself watching this. The guards would leave soon when they see their boss can not pay them any longer.

She checked her phone once more to see if Aiden returned her call but there was nothing.

"Chloe are you okay?" She heard her dad's voice, making her rush to get the door open.

"Dad! How come you let that happen? "Thought you call yourself the elder brother? yet you know nothing." Chloe screeched at Marion.

"Hey! It was caused by a natural disaster, how do you expect me to…"

"Just get lost, you all! Now I am going to live my life in the slums! How do you expect me to even face my friends?" Chloe screamed banging on her door.

"I can't believe this!"

"Chloe! Open the door. It's been two days since you locked yourself up in your room."

"Chloe, please trust your dad! He will look for a solution." Sandra has been trying to make Chloe get out of her room ever since that night she saw the news, but Chloe hasn't even talked to them.

She just got coiled up behind her bed, still going through the comments. "For the first time in her life, she regrets not doing anything. She was home schooled all her elementary and high school life. If she hadn't forced her dad to make her go to University since she is a brilliant girl she got admitted to Harvard University to study Finance and accounting.

That was how she met her current friends and also Aiden. She had fallen in love with Aiden the first time she set her eyes on him. She also made him aware she had a crush on him. Any girl she sees with Aiden, she would make their life a living hell. Till Aiden finally accepted her into his life.

She graduated with a good GPA but she decided not to work with her certificate since her dad is rich and her boyfriend took over his dad's company. She thinks it would be better for her to be a full time housewife. Now she is beginning to regret it, especially now that she keeps seeing it in people's comments.

Speaking of her boyfriend, he hasn't called ever since the incident. She dialed his contact but it keeps directing her to the voicemail.

She then decided it would be best if she goes to him. He has been her boyfriend for almost a year. He should be able to help out. She quickly scrambled into her bathroom to clean up herself.

"Oh my God! Chloe your eyes are so red and…." Sandra shifted back to see how Chloe was dressed. "Why are you dressed?"

"I need to go to Aiden, he should be able to help…."

"God! Chloe, the press is outside the mansion ready to pounce on us, some guards resigned already saying they can't work without being paid, so I don't think there would be any guards to…"

"Nana, I need to talk with him, I can't just sit and watch my life being ruined!" Chloe cried out, shocking Sandra.

"Chl…"

"It's enough!.... I need to leave now!" Chloe bolted out of the mansion, jumping into one of her cars. The security was surprised to see she finally came out. But he couldn't open the gate.

"Open the damn gate!" Chloe snapped.

"Young miss, I am sorry but I can't, the press are gonna come in."

"Fine, I will f**king break off the gate," Chloe yelled and stepped on the pedal about to move the car, making the confused soul rush to the gate pressing the button.

Just as the gate opened, Selena stepped on the pedal making the press leave the way in a hurry, so she didn't hit them.

Chloe drove into Aiden's company with speed, getting down from her car she sprinted into his company. The workers kept giving her weird glances, the ones who knew her began whispering about her. Not bothering to look at them, she walks straight to Aiden's floor. But when she got to his secretary's desk, she stopped her from walking into Aiden's office.

"Miss I am sorry, but you can't go into the boss's office without an appointment."

"Like seriously! ….. He is my f**king boyfriend," Chloe screeched out annoyed.

"I am sorry, but he gave a strict warning not to let anyone into his office without an appointment." She gently explained.

"Are you saying I can not go into his f**king office without an appointment?" Chloe asked, stunned.

"Of course, you heard right, he made that rules two days ago, and I think it's including you." A new voice replied, stepping into their conversations.

"Are you crazy? You bi…." A slap was heard stopping Chloe from finishing her sentence.

"You are no one now Chloe, don't dare call me that," Brianna screamed. Brianna scoffed and raised Chloe's head to face her.

"You should be the one to mind the way you speak to me. For once try to feel ashamed of your stupid pathetic self….. Get the hell outta here or calm the guards to throw you out like the garbage you are now."

"Get me a sanitizer, I don't wanna get infected." She told the secretary who stretched a sanitizer to her.

Chloe stood speechless with what just happened, she looked defeated and walked down to the elevator.

When she got out of the elevator, workers gathered around to watch her as she walked out of the company, embarrassed not knowing a lot was waiting for her outside the building.

Just as walked out of the building, flashes blocked her visions, making her more shocked.

"What do you say about your dad's company which is about to go bankrupt?"

Chloe's brain completely went blank, when she saw the press. She just stood there watching them as they asked a series of questions.

"Will you be able to leave without riches?"

"Miss Chloe, do you think you guys will be able to rise from this fall?"

"Miss Chloe, what do you think about the employees working for you guys? Would you even be able to pay for their debt?"

"What do you the…" Chloe was about to go into a panic attack, when someone brushed her off her feet, carrying her out of the crowd.

The Crowd was in awe watching what just happened before them.

"Oh my God! Who is he?"

"Is he her boyfriend?"

"Damn it,.she must be cheating on her boyfriend!"

"She's such a cheater!"

With all this going on Chloe wasn't herself anymore, she had long gone into a panic attack. She was oblivious to all the things going on around her.

When they got to where Chloe parked her car, he collected her car keys from her and helped her open her door, dropping her inside the car. He was about to get out of the car but her hold was too strong she didn't let him go.

"Thanks a lot for today." She whispered, staring into the brown beautiful eyes.

"I don't need your appreciation,'' he walked out. It took some time for Chloe to recall the voice. It was the same guy that had helped her when she broke the windscreen of the pervert.

She rushed out of the car to find him, but he was long gone, she couldn't trace him anywhere.

"God! This is the second time he helped me out. Why didn't I recall his face?" Chloe pondered for some minutes before she finally got into her car, having it in mind to thank him heartily when she saw him next time. She could recall his eyes but not any other thing because her eyes were drowsy when he dropped her. She only came to her senses when he said those words.

Chloe got to the front of her mansion entrance and was happy there wasn't any press in front of their gate anymore.

"Weird," she thought to herself. She pressed on the horn of the car signifying she was back. The gate opened a few seconds later and she drove in.

"Chloe!... Where are you coming from?" She heard her dad's voice as she walked into the mansion. With an eye roll, she walked out from her dad, ignoring his calls but her dad's next word stopped her.

"Get ready tomorrow night, you will be meeting the Lucas son, for the arrangement of your marriage," John said, shocking Chloe.
