“Clara, it’s not that simple,” Lily finally said, her voice barely above a whisper.

She looked down at her hands, trying to keep her emotions in check.

“A lot has happened. I don’t know if I can just forgive and forget like that. I don't understand-why would you say that?”

“I’m not asking you to forget,” Clara said softly. “But maybe… maybe you could give him a chance to show you that he’s changed. That he’s truly sorry, look I’m not trying to get you back with him, but just give him a chance to entirely explain himself, so you can decide for yourself?”

“But, you were so against him, you didn't even want to see his face, what happened?”

“I met him recently,” Clara continued after a pause “he was miserable, Lily, I know it sounds ridiculous and I tried to tell him how he was a monster and didn't deserve to be with you but-but the pain in his eyes explained it all, look, I don't know if you would ever get back with him or not but I just want you to know that he’s truly sorry.”

  • My Cold Husband    Realisation of Actions

Aaron’s voice was cracking as he realized the gravity of his actions. “I didn’t mean to…” Clara’s eyes were filled with tears as she took a cautious step back. She could see the conflict in Aaron’s eyes, the regret starting to take hold, but the fear she felt was overwhelming. “I can see what you meant to do” she repeated, her voice barely a whisper. Aaron’s hand trembled as he lowered the gun. The weight of what he had just done pressed down on him like a physical burden. He had crossed a line he never thought he would cross, and now he had to live with the consequences. For a moment, the two of them just stood there in silence, the air thick with tension and unspoken words. Then, without another word, Clara turned and fled the room, leaving Aaron standing there alone, the gun still in his hand, his mind reeling from what had just happened. Upstairs, Lily sat on her bed, completely unaware of the confrontation that had just taken place downstairs. She assumed Aaron and Clara

“I know what I did was wrong.” He said, “I don’t expect you to forgive me, but I just…I need you to know that I didn’t mean to hurt you. I was just-” “Obsessed,” Clara interjected, her eyes narrowing as she stared at him. “You’re obsessed, Aaron. With Lily. And it’s unhealthy.” Aaron opened his mouth to protest, but Clara didn’t give him a chance. “Do you even realize what you’ve done? Do you understand how far you’ve gone? You pulled a gun on me, Aaron! All because I suggested that Lily give Zared another chance. What is wrong with you?” Her words cut deep, and Aaron felt a lump form in his throat. “I wasn’t thinking clearly,” he tried to explain, but even to his own ears, it sounded like a weak excuse. “No, you weren’t,” Clara snapped. “Because all you can think about is Lily. You’re so obsessed with protecting her, with keeping her safe, that you’ve lost sight of everything else. And it’s not just unhealthy, Aaron. It’s dangerous.” Aaron felt a cold chill run d

  • My Cold Husband    Everything messed up

Zared’s words from their last encounter kept replaying in her head. "I made mistakes, but I love you, Lily.” She hated how those words lingered, how they made her question everything she thought she knew about her feelings. Zared had hurt her in ways she never thought was possible, but his sincerity in their last conversation was undeniable. She was trying to focus on everything but Zared but nothing worked in her favour. The tension which lingered in the house was making her suffocate, no matter how curious she was about what had happened between Clara and Aaron, she wanted to give them space. Aaron didn't come home after he left and Clara had been in her room all day, even though she did come out a few times for her meals but she didn't interact with Lily, she wondered if she had something to do with what had happened between them, the guilt of the possibility was already seeping in, she collected some breath and headed outside to get some fresh air. It was chilly outside and

"No,no,no,no" Lily says to Alex as he comes closer, her voice less than a whisper. "Please dont! Please! Help! Help me please-" Her words get cut off as she loses her balance and almost trips, she looks up to the face holding her arms, it's not Alex anymore, where did he go, where did Alex go ? She looked around confused and then back to the person holding her. It was Aaron, with a concerned look on his face. "Lily, are you alright? What happened?" He asked. "Where did he go ?" "Who ?" Aaron looked around with a confused expression. "Alex, wh-where did he go ?" Aaron's gaze softened. "He's not here, Lily, you don't need to worry about him." Lily sits down in the middle of the road, sliding down from Aaron's grip, her knees finally giving in, her breath ragged and uneven. She looks into the distance as Aaron crouched down at her level, thinking of all the times Alex forced her, did so many unfair things that no one in this world should deserve, all the memories that

Lily sighs at Aaron's response. She knew this wasn't her, maybe not the old her but this is what she felt was better for her, maybe he didn't deserve to die or maybe he did, but whatever will happen will happen for good, she told herself. She wanted him dead so she could get rid of any possibilities of coming face to face with him in the future, she wasn't a person who would want anyone dead just for her sake and she hated everyone who made her like this. "I don't know when I became this person, Aaron, I've never been this cruel, but...I want you to kill him, please." She looked up at him. He was thinking about something, probably how heartless Lily had become and when did all her innocence get away, she thought. "If this is called being cruel then maybe I am the devil, I've killed those who have not harmed me." "It was for me though, you killed all those guards because of me-" "Does that make me cruel ?" "Of course not-" "Wanting someone who robbed you of your life dead, who

After pulling out the chair across from her and settling down, his intense gaze locking onto hers. “You called me,” he said, leaning slightly forward, his voice filled with a mixture of curiosity and cautious optimism. “I assumed it had to be about Lily. Is it… good news?” Clara hesitated, her fingers tightening around the cup. She couldn’t meet his eyes immediately, knowing the hope she saw there would only make what she had to say harder. She drew a deep breath, forcing herself to stay calm and think about all the things HE had done, she doesn't need to feel sorry for him. “I don’t know if it’s the news you want to hear, Zared,” she began softly, lifting her gaze to his. “But I’ve been thinking a lot about Lily, about what she’s been through and what she wants.” Zared’s brow furrowed slightly, the hope dimming just a fraction. “What she wants?” he echoed, his tone careful but edged with tension. “What do you mean? Did she… did she say something about me?” Clara shook her he

  • My Cold Husband    Intense Moments

The sound of Lily's laughter drifted up from the hallway below, light and carefree, as if the weight of the past had finally begun to lift, it was followed by Aaron’s familiar teasing tone, their banter spilling through the cracks of Clara’s closed door like a warm balm. It brought a small, fleeting smile to Clara's lips. Lily was healing, and that was what mattered most. But the guilt gnawed at her edges, because part of her still doubted. Had she been right to confront Zared? Had she truly done what was best for Lily, or had she acted on her own anger, her own biases? The sound of approaching footsteps snapped Clara out of her spiral. There was a soft knock at her door before it creaked open, and Lily’s caramel hair appeared around the corner, her hazel eyes sparkling with post-exam relief. “You okay?” Lily asked, stepping fully into the room, her brow furrowing as she took in Clara’s posture. “You’ve been quiet since this morning. Is everything alright?” Clara straightened,

  • My Cold Husband    Delusion or Reality ?

Zared knew no amount of regret could undo the damage. His phone buzzed on the desk, breaking the silence. He hesitated before picking it up, his heart sinking when he saw the name on the screen. It wasn’t Lily. It never was. “Zared Williams,” he answered, his voice sharp and professional, masking the turmoil beneath. “Mr Williams,” the voice on the other end said. “We have a development regarding-" Zared pinched the bridge of his nose, his patience thin. “I don’t want to hear about work right now. Handle it yourself.” “But sir—” He hung up, Zared had never been one to skip work, he wasn't the one to leave work for even if someone close to him died. Back at the house, Lily and Aaron sat on the porch, the night air cool and refreshing. Aaron leaned back in his chair, his hands behind his head, a cocky grin on his face. “I’m just saying,” he began, “if it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have passed that exam.” Lily rolled her eyes. “Oh, please. You barely studied yourself.

  • My Cold Husband    Night Of Realisations

Lily was sitting in her living room, her mind a whirlwind of the confrontation with Zared and Aaron stepping in, having her back-as always. After all that happened, she wondered if her pushing Zared off was selfish of her. While Lily had grown more mature these years, she had also become cold and made sure to keep herself first at any cost-but this Lily...it was the old Lily...who wanted to think that she was wrong for mistreating Zared-maybe her was disturbed, what could have possibly been the reason for him to fake his death-how big the problem must've been? A knock at the door startled her from her thoughts. Frowning, she checked the time-it was late, far too late for visitors. Cautiously, she approached the door and looked through the peephole. It was Zared. Her breath caught, and her hand instinctively tightened on the doorknob. Part of her wanted to ignore him, but the other part-the one still grappling with the guilt of his supposed death-compelled her to open the

  • My Cold Husband    Shielded From Him

Lily sat across from Clara in her cozy apartment after the massive shock she had, the glow of the city lights filtered through the windows. Clara had invited her over for an evening of conversation, sensing something was weighing heavily on her friend. As Lily sipped her tea, her fingers fidgeted with the rim of the cup. “Clara,” she began hesitantly, “something happened yesterday.” Clara raised an eyebrow. “What is it?" Taking a deep breath, Lily placed the cup down and looked Clara in the eye. “Zared is alive.” Clara froze, the mug in her hands suspended mid-air. “What?” “He came to my office. I didn’t recognize him at first, but it was him, Clara. He’s alive, and he... he apologized for everything.” Clara placed her cup down, her expression a mixture of shock and confusion. “Zared? As in Zared Williams? The same man who k*lled himself? How is that even possible?” Lily shook her head, her voice shaky. “I don’t know. He said it was complicated and that he was tryin

  • My Cold Husband    Back From The Dead

Lily sat at her desk in her company, her fingers hovering over her keyboard. The day had been long and draining, but there was still a stack of work to get through. She sighed, rubbing her temples, when a soft knock interrupted her thoughts. “Come in,” she called not lifting her head up. The door opened and closed behind. “Do you need anything, ma'am?” "No, thanks." "Would you like some coffee?" "No, you can go." Lily said, her tone cold as her eyes remained on the screen. “Some tea?" he asked Her brows furrowed but her eyes remained on her paperwork. "I dont need anything, leave before I fire you." There was a pause, but the person in front of her didn’t leave. Instead, he took a step closer. “Are you sure? I can fetch you tea, coffee... water, maybe?” Lily looked up briefly, irritation flickering across her face, though she still didn’t focus on him entirely. “No, thank you. And I think you should go.” But the man didn’t move. “How about I help you

  • My Cold Husband    Fragile Connections

It had been two weeks since the gala, and life had settled back into its usual rhythm for Lily; or at least, that’s what she told herself over the weeks. The days were packed with meetings, client calls, and deadlines, leaving her little time to dwell on anything else. But no matter how busy she was, Aaron’s presence lingered in the back of her mind like a stubborn shadow. She hadn’t expected to see him again so soon, and certainly not like that-standing across a room, looking at her with a mix of longing and regret. Lily shook her head as she sat at her desk, trying to push the memory aside. He doesn’t matter anymore, she reminded herself. You’ve moved on. Your life is yours now. But the truth was harder to face. A part of her was still drawn to him, to the man who had once made her feel like the center of his universe. Later that evening at her apartment, as she stepped into the kitchen, her phone buzzed on the counter. She picked it up to see Clara’s name flashing on

  • My Cold Husband    Unforgivable Memories

Aaron was already making his way toward her, his steps purposeful but hesitant. “Do you want me to distract him?” Clara asked, noticing. “No,” Lily said, surprising even herself. “I’ll handle it.” When he finally reached her, he stopped just short of invading her space. “Lily,” he said, his voice a mix of relief and uncertainty. “Aaron,” she replied, keeping her tone neutral. Clara took that as her cue to slip away, leaving them alone. “You look...” Aaron trailed off, his gaze softening. “You look beautiful.” “Thank you,” Lily said, her walls firmly in place. There was an awkward silence before Aaron spoke again. “How have you been?” “Busy,” Lily said simply. “You?” "Same. Busy." He said, his eyes boring into her's. Aaron Knight had never been one to doubt himself. His confidence, honed over years of navigating ruthless boardrooms and mastering impossible deals, was unshakable. But now, sitting in his empty penthouse with the city lights stretching endlessly b

  • My Cold Husband    4 Years Later...

The 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of success for Lily. As the founder and CEO of her own fashion brand, she had become a name synonymous with innovation and elegance. Her designs graced international runways, and her name carried weight in the business world. She was confident, composed, and exactly where she wanted to be. It was a crisp evening in the city, and Lily sat in her office overlooking the bustling streets below. She tapped her pen against the edge of her notebook, her mind wandering. A knock at the door broke her thoughts. Clara walked in, looking radiant as ever in a sleek jumpsuit. “Your PR team says you need to approve the final list for the charity gala tomorrow,” she said, placing a folder on Lily’s desk. Lily smirked. “You didn’t need to bring this yourself. What’s the real reason you’re here?” Clara feigned an offended look. “What, I can’t check on my dear friend? Fine, maybe I just needed a break from my office. Paperwork is soul-sucking.”

  • My Cold Husband    The Hollowing

The penthouse felt lifeless. Every step Aaron took echoed through the empty rooms, each sound reminding him of what he’d lost. He couldn’t stop himself from wandering to Lily’s favorite spots-the kitchen where she used to hum softly while brewing tea, the couch where they would argue about what to watch, her corner of the bedroom where her books were still stacked neatly, her pink and white bedroom-the one she always dreamed about. He stood by the window where Lily once leaned against his chest, watching the city lights together happily. Now, those same lights felt distant and cold. On the coffee table lay a scarf she’d left behind, forgotten in the rush of her departure. Aaron’s hand trembled as he picked it up, the soft fabric bringing back the faintest trace of her perfume. He closed his eyes, clutching it tightly as if it could somehow bring her back. Aaron couldn’t shake the memory of her face when she left, her tear filled eyes, the hurt in her voice as she said goodbye.

  • My Cold Husband    Shattered Remnants

The penthouse felt cavernous in her absence. Lily’s steps echoed faintly against the polished floors as she carried a small bag down the hall. She had packed only the essentials-clothes, documents, and her favorite book-a conscious decision not to look back. The thought of leaving the home they'd shared stung, but staying felt like drowning. Her mind replayed the scene in Aaron’s study, the damning photographs and the file with her name etched at the top. Every piece of information about her, laid bare-her family, her childhood, her fears. She’d trusted him, and in return, he had dissected her life like a puzzle to control. As she neared the door, the faint scent of his cologne lingered, and her grip on the bag tightened. This was the only goodbye she could give. Aaron had been out since the incident-a small mercy-but as Lily turned the handle, she heard the elevator hum to life. Her heart plummeted. The doors slid open, and Aaron stepped out, his suit slightly dishevel

  • My Cold Husband    The Hidden Truth

The day was quiet, too quiet for Lily’s liking. Aaron had been called away for an urgent business meeting, leaving her alone in the penthouse. Normally, she’d enjoy the solitude, but today felt different. Her gaze wandered to the key sitting on her side table, the one Aaron had handed her a few days ago to the study. She hadn’t ventured inside yet, mostly because it felt too personal, too private. But now, with the emptiness of the penthouse pressing in on her, curiosity got the better of her. Sliding the key into the lock, she pushed the door open, stepping inside her fingers brushed against the dark wood of the desk. The view of the city skyline stretched beyond the glass, but her attention was drawn to a folder sitting in the center of the desk. It wasn’t marked, but something about it seemed out of place. “Just a peek,” she murmured to herself, feeling a twinge of guilt. Sliding the folder closer, she flipped it open-and froze. The first thing she saw was a phot
