Alexis POV

The next morning, I trotted down the stairs, rubbing my sleepy eyes. I still felt sleepy, but at the same time, I couldn’t close my eyes without the image of my brother holding me flash through my mind.

I didn’t want to think about it, but at the same time, I couldn’t help myself. I got into the kitchen to get water and the very image that perturbed my sleep last night was standing by the counter drinking water.

Staring at where he stood. It reminded me of yesterday. He saw me and he almost choked on the water.

He dropped the glass. I walked up to him bracing myself for what I was about to say. “Alex..” I began.

As soon as I called his name, he walked out of the kitchen ensuring that our bodies did not touch even the slightest bit. I stared after his retreating figure in shock and annoyance. Why was the bloody hell of a brother ignoring me?

Was it because of yesterday? Did he feel it too? I pondered.

“No, I don’t think so. He’s been ignoring you since he came back from wherever he disappeared to,” my wolf said to me.

I groaned in frustration. I was tired of all this. I needed answers. I wanted to know where he disappeared to five years ago. I wanted to know where he met Gena and how she became his mate. I wanted to know if he felt that spark when our bodies collided. I wanted to know everything!

We used to share things together, but all of a sudden, my big brother has grown distant. I was beginning to think he hated me now. But, what wrong have I done to him?

Alexander’s POV

I walked into the woods, taking deep breaths. I was losing it. Losing my mind. Losing my self-control. It irks me to know that I would never see my sister in another way. I groaned in frustration.

How long was I going to keep this up? How long would I keep my distance? It was becoming more difficult the more I saw those innocent eyes of hers questioning me every day.

I growled in anger and pain as I threw a punch on one of the trees. This was too much for me to bear, but this burden was a burden I must carry alone.

I returned to the house much later and found Alexis and Gena engaged in a conversation. They seemed happy as they chatted.

I walked past them determined to ignore Alexis.

“Alex, where have you been?” Gena asked me.

“Outing,” I replied dryly.

Just then, Alexis rushed over to me and grabbed my hand. “You’re bleeding, Alex,” she panicked.

I flinched as I backed away from her. My wolf was threatening to surface. Threatening to claim her as his. I didn’t miss the shocked expression on her face and the anger in her eyes as I walked past her.

I walked into my room and slammed the door. I inhaled deeply as I walked over to the closet and began to get my things.

Gena walked into the room. “What are you doing?” She asked.

“What does it look like?” I retorted.

She ignored my harsh tone. “Don’t you think that treating your little sister like dirt is wrong?”

“You know nothing, Gena. Stay out of my family affairs,” I replied, taking out my frustration on her.

She was taken aback. “Forgive me for trying to connect you with your sister,” she said in an upset voice.

I exhaled and stopped packing my things as I turned to her. “Look, I’m sorry, okay? But, this place has become too unbearable for me. Get your things and let’s leave,”

She stared at me as if I had suddenly grown horns.

“Why? You wanted to come back here,”

“And now I want to leave!” I raised my voice at her and she stared at me.

“Alex?” She called as she walked closer to me. “Is there something you’re not telling me?” She asked.

I looked away as I went back to packing my stuff.

“There’s nothing. Just do as I have said.

“But, your parents aren’t here yet,” she replied.

“They don’t need to know that I’m gone,” I said. “Just pack up, please,” I added as I stared at her.

“Nobody’s packing,” I heard Alexis’s voice at the door. I groaned inwardly as she walked into the room.

“What do you think you’re doing, Alex?” She asked me.

I ignored her and kept on packing up.

“If you don’t say a word to me, I swear Alex I’ll burn this house with you in it,” she threatened and I glanced at her. She was literally bluffing.

“I’ll rather have you dead than have a douchebag of a brother,” she looked very serious.

“I’m leaving,” I finally said without looking at her. Her presence in my room made me tense and my heart jittery.

“To where uh?” She demanded.

“Anywhere, but here,” I replied plainly.

“What the bloody hell is wrong with you?” She raised her voice in anger. “For five years you disappeared without a trace only for you to return and plan on leaving again?!”

“It’s none of your business, Alexis,” I replied as I zipped up my bag.

“It is. You’re my brother!”

I moved past her and she grabbed my arm and with all her might, she pushed me back. Her eyes were shimmering with tears. “What’s wrong with you? What’s your problem?!” She yelled.

My throat choked as I saw her in tears.

She came closer to me hitting my chest. “What’s your problem?!” She reiterated.

I pushed her away from me. I couldn’t take it any longer. “You’re my problem, Alexis!” I yelled at her and she stared at me in shock.

Alex's POVA month laterI was relaxing at home after training when Alpha Mark sent for me. I sat on the porch of the cabin I shared with Alexis, sipping a cup of coffee.Alexis was back from work. She had been trained on how to teach young pups basic things since she had always loved to have kids around her. She was reading a novel beside me on the porch. We had been through a lot and thought we had found a life here. A new beginning, we called it. Away from our parent's tainting. The sound of footsteps approaching us made us alert and turned to the direction. I looked up to see Killian, a pack member of Greenwolf walking towards the cabin. Killian was a newfound friend that we both got to be a lover of the game.“Good afternoon,” he greeted with a smile.“Hello Alexis, looking beautiful as always,” he teased Alexis as he always did.“You've come to get your ass whooped as usual,” I joked. We both played soccer around this time of the day. “Don't get over your head, I might just co

Chapter 130Alexis's POVTwo Weeks LaterLiving here in the Greenwolf pack these past weeks has been incredible and one of the best things that’s ever happened to me since Alpha Kane kidnapped me to the Nightwolf pack months back. It's been peaceful. The shadows of Julia and Richard lurking in the shadows no longer loomed over us. Their punishment was out of our hands now, with the council in charge. All that mattered to me was that Alex and I could finally move forward without looking over our shoulders. Alpha Kane was dead too and the new Alpha was in no way interested in us. I leaned against Alex’s shoulder as we sat curled up in the living room of the house we’d been given, watching a movie. I had never imagined that after everything, we would find peace in such a simple way. I glanced up at him, taking in the relaxed smile on his face. He pulled me closer in between his laps, placed my head gently on his chest and I felt my heart skip a beat. “Do you like the movie?” I asked s

It was time everyone else knew what they've been up to eventually and I would never want to be caught as an accomplice covering up their evil acts. She had been kidnapped, just like me, raised in lies and manipulated for power. After the fight settled, I had called Beta Conor to inform the elders and pack members that I would love to address everyone before the coronation day. Beta Conor didn't question me since I was going to be the new Alpha. He knew he had to do whatever I wanted so he didn't get on my bad side. The elders were inside, along
