Chapter 30

Julia’s POV

I was beyond stunned when I heard Alex say those words. How did he find out I had always birthed stillborn babies? It was a secret I was willing to take to my grave, and yet, he found out about it.

It broke my heart as I saw the lingering accusations in his eyes. He may not be my biological child, but I raised him from an infant. I was still his mother, wasn’t I?

Tears streamed down my eyes and I turned away to sob on Richard’s chest.

“That’s enough, Alex. This is too much for your mother to bear,” Richard said, holding me in his arms.

“She may have raised me, but she did not give birth to me. I know what you both have been hiding from us all these years. What baffles me is why you kept it a secret and left us in the dark?!” Alex raised his voice. He was raving mad.

“I didn’t mean to…” I cried out.

“You didn’t mean to hide the fact that you both are not our birth parents from us? Then what did you mean to do?” He demanded.

“You both are supposed to be our children,” I crie
