Chapter 67 –  Aliyah Saved Us All

(Lexi’s POV)

“Jolene.”

I sandwiched the cell phone between my ear and shoulder when I put on the seatbelt while my eyes followed Finn as he sat in the driver’s seat. He glanced at me, raising his eyebrows, wondering who my caller was.

“Lexi…” She cried, making my heart stop beating. “Aliyah… We brought Aliyah to the hospital-”

The rage in my heart melted and was replaced with fear, alarmed when I saw Lexa and Frank coming out of the restaurant, also in a hurry to go to their car. I had to get out of the vehicle because Jolene just kept crying, and I had to know what had happened.

Frank parked his car beside Finn’s, and when I got out, Lexa, knowing I panicked quickly when it concerned Aliyah, dashed to me and cupped my face.

“Love, breathe,” she said.

With wide eyes, I nodded, but my heart was not stopping pounding inside my chest. For a brief moment, we had forgotten our dates.
