Twenty-second Chapter

Loud banging noise penetrated my eardrums, ultimately disrupting my sleep. When it came again, I jerked out of bed. I was sure it was on my door, but I had no idea who it was or why the person was knocking, scratch that, banging so early in the morning.

I forced my feet into the cushion slippers I got a few days ago, dragging it to the door as I rubbed my eyes. I was a few steps away from the door when the loud banging came again.

“I'm coming damn it!" I snapped.

Whoever it was, was going to get a piece of my mind for disturbing my sleep and possibility, the sleep of my neighbors.

I undid the lock when I got to the door, pulling the door wide open with the anger that had boiled inside of me. My eyes widened when I saw Rain standing in front of me. I was still processing the shock into anger when he launched himself at me, slamming his lips into mine with his hands around me.

With all the strength in me, I shoved him with both hands. “
