Sixteenth Chapter

With horror in my eyes, I looked at the message I had just sent to Rain, to his father who eyed me seductively. I had a moment of brain freeze, not the type you get from eating too much ice cream at once. The one where you're unable to think clearly or even move.

“You don't look happy to see me, Raya," David's voice snapped me out of my relapse. “Is there something wrong?"

There was genuine concern in his voice but I was more concerned about the possibility of his son coming over, especially after I had gone ahead of myself to send him a message indicating that he was at my door, when in fact, he wasn't. While I was still thinking, my phone vibrated again. I looked down to see another message notification from none other than Rain. I panicked.

“You need to leave." I blurted.

The smile on David's face instantly vanished. He furrowed his brows, voicing out in concern. “Is something wrong?"
