With horror in my widened eyes, I watched Rain walk up to us when we turned. I had so many questions about his sudden appearance, but I wasn't sure who to direct them to. When I thought I was at the height of my fears, it shot through the air like a rocket. I turned to ask Maya the questions that flooded my mind but he was already close.

From the minute Rain started the ignition, pulling out of the hospital parking lot, my heart pounded. I was completely distracted, unconsciously spacing out when I wasn't being spoken to.
