4. Marking

It had been a whole month since Sicily had been in Harlan's big house. During that time she could not roam freely, not even to wear decent clothes. All Harlan had thrown at her were two thin, tiny pieces of cloth capable of covering her two vital assets.

But despite being treated like a slave, the young woman didn't complain at all. She just kept it to herself and intended to repay Harlan for everything he did to her someday. Just like this morning when Sicily was in the kitchen, suddenly a hand grabbed her by the neck and pulled her to the sofa.

"What are you doing with my clothes, Hah!" snapped Harlan as he threw his new satin shirt.

Sicily quickly grabbed the object that had fallen on her face and was now in her hands. Slowly, her fingers fingered the object, gently brushing the skin of her fingers where there were several buttons. She realised what she was holding.

Instantly the beautiful, blind woman swallowed her saliva as her hand touched a spot where the fabric felt a little rough and torn. Not only was it difficult to swallow her own saliva, Sicily also took a few steps away from Harlan's reach.

But before she could move away, Harlan's long hand had already managed to grab her arm. "Don't you dodge! I don't want to know, I have guests tonight. Make the banquet as lavish as possible, this is the beginning of my life!"

Sicily paused, then said softly, "How can I afford all this if I don't even have eyesight, sir?"

"I don't want to know, my mate is coming tonight. So get everything ready and you don't leave when the banquet starts. Remember!"

Sicily nodded, the silence after Harlan's words made her think that he had left. So, Sicily slowly walked out of the room.

"Looks like I'll have to be more vigilant and train all my senses if I want to get out of this hell soon." Sicily said and solidified her intentions.

Sicily's ears faintly heard footsteps approaching. The rhythm was different from Harlan's, the scent of his body was not the same. This made the blind woman breathe a little easier. However, she did not lower her guard.

The footsteps got closer, then she heard something fall near her palm. Not only that, a soft, delicate breath greeted the skin on the tip of her lobe. Sicily let out a long breath with some restraint.

"Don't be afraid of me, Miss. I'm just an omega here. Let me help you make the dishes tonight!" The female voice that greeted Sicily's lobe seemed to bring down her cautious spirit.

"Okay, I'm Sicily. Just call me Sicil without the lady appendage. What's your name, Omega?"

"Raquel. I can't, I know what kind of wolf is inside you, Miss. Just hold on a little longer!"

What Raquel said made Sicily flinch and take two steps back. She didn't understand why the woman in front of her could see everything in her.

However, the woman named Raquel did not want to say more. She just quickly went into action to tell the Alpha what foods she was interested in. Sicily shuddered in horror at the sound of fresh, raw meat.

The woman tiptoed slightly as her fingers touched an object that was wet and smelled slightly of fresh blood. Her head turned to the side she felt Raquel was on. The look in Sicily's eyes seemed to express a question.

"Yes, what you're holding is the fresh meat of a deer from Scoter's hunt."

Hearing the word Scoter made Sicily's body stiffen. She knew the rogue wolf's name by heart. There was a time when she was almost pounced on by that man. However, she didn't know what happened until he suddenly set her free.

"Is that man still alive today, Raquel?"

"Still, what I heard is that he is hunting a young woman who is blind but has an intrinsic advantage, Miss."

Deg!

Finally, Sicily tried to suppress her fear and worry. She began cooking in preparation for Harlan's dinner. As Raquel had informed her, tonight her employer's mate would be with a family, reportedly a Southern Alpha family.

Sicily instantly clamped her mouth shut. Once again her brain thought to refuse. However, as the day drew to a close her scent picked up something very familiar. The roaring sound of many-wheeled machines had been received by Sicily's ears.

"They seem to be arriving soon." Sicily stood by the window of her room facing the street.

The sound of a knock on the door made Sicily turn round to face the door. Then her lips parted and gave an order for the knocker to enter directly.

"Sorry, miss. You'd better get dressed in time for them to come!" Raquel ordered.

"But Harlan won't let me, Raquel. I can't!" Sicily gently refused.

After preparing everything for Sicily, Raquel left the room. She left her lady free to dress and waited at the door. After hearing the call, the old woman came back in to help with the make-up.

"Perfect, I'm sure that fake woman is less beautiful than Miss. Let me take you downstairs. They've arrived," Raquel invited.

Sicily did as Raquel said. I don't know what was going through Sicily's mind that she would unconditionally obey the omega woman. Meanwhile, a sly smile was etched on Raquel's face. The woman seemed to feel victorious. "Just one more step," Raquel thought.

Sicily finally arrived at the dining room where the family banquet was being held. She sniffed her nose for a long time. And as she suspected, it was true that the guests Harlan was waiting for were his former family before he was banished.

"You! Why are you here and since when, Huh?" Rhena snapped, pushing Sicily's body roughly.

"Do you know this blind girl, Rhe?" asked Harlan.

Rhena grinned slyly, she walked over and hugged Harlan's body from the side. The two bodies pressed together until they felt two rubbery objects squeezing Harlan's arms. The man choked.

"You must regret being born a blind woman. Although your beauty is not inferior to others, blindness is a shame. Like a dog without fangs." Rhena insulted deeply as her palm caressed Harlan's chest.

Harlan looked down and gently kissed Rhena's lips, which had been teasing him. It was casual at first, but the longer it went on, the more the two of them couldn't resist. They crushed each other until the sound made Sicily's body stiffen.

"What are you doing there? Stop it, you should keep your honour, Rhena!" growled Sicily.

"Cuih, I don't care about honour when I'm with my partner, Blind Woman. Are you jealous because I've been marked by my mate, Hah!"

Like being struck by lightning, Sicily's soul seemed to be separated from her body. The woman's body began to tremble and took a few steps backwards while covering her open mouth.

"No, this must all be a lie. Is this all true, Harlan?"
