Running From The Truth
Helena's POV
It's been two days since I asked Keith to leave my house and since that time I hadn't heard a word from him. I should be relieved about this but for some reason I couldn't explain, it irked me and I just wanted to send myself to the naughty corner for even starting anything with him in the first place. “What were you thinking, Lena?” I asked myself quietly and Maria replied. “Did you say something, Lena?” “No, no. I was just talking to myself.” “Mmmhmm.” She replied sarcastically and pushed her anti blue-ray glasses downwards and dramatically gave a pose that silently depicted. 'Let me have a good look at you.’ I gave her a self conscious laugh and asked. “Girl, what is it?” “You were talking to yourself. That's what's up. You've been talking to yourself for days now and we both know when you do that, then you have something eating you inside. I know it's not work because you guys wrapped up the deal successfully and you are on a short break.” I clamped my lips together so that I wouldn't say anything because I didn't want to make a big deal out of nothing but Maria trained her piercing gaze on me and I had to shout. “Well, what is it?” “I am waiting for you to say it.” “Say what?” “What's eating you up inside?” “Nothing's eating me up inside. I just have this situation with Keith.” “Sebastian's Keith? Maria asked and after I nodded she asked. “what's going on?” “So he came over as planned and we had sex but then he started saying words I didn't understand. Words that were not in my dictionary.” “Words that were not in your dictionary? What the hell are you talking about, Helena?” She asked me with a bewildered expression on her face. “Well, he told me that he had a feeling that I was not willing to share more than my body with him and when I told him that he was correct, he said he wanted body and heart. He wanted a committed relationship. “Oh!” “Yeah. “And what did you do? What was your reaction?” She pushed her laptop to the side so that she could focus on me. “I panicked, picked up his clothes, threw them on his face and told him to get out.” “That must have been weird. So what's eating you up about all of this? I mean, he's gone like you wanted so what's the issue?” I sat back on my chair and folded my arms with a sigh. “Maria, you know I crossed his father already in the last senior executives meeting I was privileged to attend and the only reason I got away with that was that I was right and it made them a lot of money. What if all of this with Keith brings another layer of problem to my career? His family is one of the ruling families in the legal sphere.” Maria not only heard the worry in my voice but she also saw it in my countenance so she took my hand and squeezed it softly. “Helena, you're very good at what you do, and even though you have wild choices where your relationships are concerned, I've always known you to be a woman with a good head on her shoulders. You don't mix business with pleasure and you sure as hell weren't doing that when you hooked up with Keith so if he decides to take it out on you professionally then he's the smallest man in the world but I don't think Keith is like that, even though I don't really know him.” As we talked, my phone buzzed and I picked it up and answered the call without checking the caller ID, thinking that it was one of my hook-ups or someone from work. “Helly?” I heard his smooth baritone. “Keith?” I asked even though I knew he was the one, then I wondered why my heart skipped. Maria sat up as I mentioned his name then shifted closer to me to offer silent support in case I needed it. “Yeah, uh, it's Keith. I just called to check on you. How have you been?” “I'm good.” “Okay, that's great. Helly, can we talk? Maybe have lunch or dinner to talk some time?” “We can't talk now?” I asked with skepticism wondering what he had to say. “Yeah, we can but I prefer a sit down.” “Mmm, okay. I will get back to you concerning your request.” He chuckled and replied. “You sound so formal, you should probably add best regards to your statement.” I laughed at his statement then we talked awkwardly for a few minutes and hung up. “Well, that was awkward.” I stated after I hung up the call. “At least we know that he is not mad at you. That was not the voice of an angry man.” “I guess so but what do you think he wants to talk about?” “I don't know, but it obviously has to do with you two. The question is, do you really want to add him to your list of boy toys? Hasn't it gotten old for you, Lena?” “What does that mean, Maria?” “For so many years you've been hopping from one man to another. Whenever it starts getting serious, you break it off and find a new one and then you things up and started banging multiple men at a time. When does it get old, Lena? When will you work on your demons?” “I don't know what you are talking about?” I replied and started packing my gadgets. I knew exactly what she was talking about but I didn't want to have the conversation or even acknowledge that there were demons. This is just me trying to prevent history from repeating itself. “You know exactly what I am talking about, Helena Montoya. You engage in casual flings because you somehow think that some man out there will do to you what your father did to your mother so men are not to be trusted. Men are not to be taken seriously where your emotions are concerned.” “Maria, this is different. I am just being careful.” “No you are not, and you know it. I have known you for many years, enough to know that you are running away from feelings, emotions, and love because you have attached demons to them.” I scoffed but deep down I knew that what she said was true so I decided to be stubborn. “Look who's talking to me. Are you not doing the same thing to Sebastian?” “No! Because Sebastian is not asking for my heart like Keith is asking for yours. What Sebastian and I have is strictly business with sexual pleasures attached. If a serious man comes along and I like him then I will give him a chance if not for the contract marriage to Seb.” I looked at her and thought. 'Oh, Maria, you are so wrong about you and Sebastian.’News FlashMaria's PoV I woke up thinking about Maria's statement about me and Sebastian, and even as I got ready for work, the statement still won't leave my head. “What did she mean by oh Maria you are so wrong about you and Sebastian?” I asked myself as I styled my hair. I heard a knock on my door and turned to see Nathan followed closely by Emily. “Who's there at my door?” I asked dramatically then gasped and half shouted. “Oh look! It's my son! And he’s sooo ready for school.” Nathan laughed and raced towards my ready arms. I grabbed him and started tickling his chubby baby body until he raced his hands and started shouting amidst laughter. “I surrender! I surrender!” Laughing hard as well, I placed him down and planted many kisses on his face. He looked at me and said, “When I grow up, mommy, I will tickle you many many times.” “Well, that's when you grow up but till then I will….” I crouched low and started for him but he screamed and raced out of my room amidst

She tsked and fixed hot gazes on me. “What happened between you and Cassandra? How and why exactly are you two even together in one picture? Where was the location in the picture? I need details. I can't just wake up and get surprises from the news. It shouldn't be my norm. I need details so I know what I am possibly facing soon.” “Maria, please take a seat. I will share every detail soon.” “Okay.” She simply replied then sat down and crossed her arms in front of her and I clamped my hands to prevent myself from smiling even though I was very angry. I was angry at myself for not flowing with my instincts because I knew immediately Cassandra showed up uninvited that something fishy was going on but I didn't act on it. I was also angry at Cassandra, the Kidmans and even my father for all these tantrums and naughty games and
Plans And Counterplans Mr. Bolt PoV I waited until Sebastian left then picked up my phone and called Max Kidman. “Max, we have a problem. Meet me at the club now. Also, come along with your daughter, Cassandra. I’d like to make a request of her and also ask her some questions concerning her last meeting with my son.” The situation seemed to be getting out of hand and if I don't curb it now then I have a lot to lose. In fact, I will go down with the Kidmans because I know that Max will surely take his pound of flesh. Cassandra's wedding to Sebastian was all that Max wanted to keep him quiet because if he had Sebastian as a son-in-law then there was no way he would go down and I won't have to go down with him. I don't want to go down so I have to do everything humanly possible to ensure that Sebastian married the Kidman girl. If I look at it logically then I would agree that Sebastian was going after the right Kidman daughter. Maria was smart, bright and doing well with h

Since when do you need that level of support Maria Bellucci?” “Since the craziness that is called the Kidman family and the craziness that is Sebastian's father. You saw their actions recently, right?” “Yeah, you have a point. Which family member are we meeting this time around? His mother?” “Nope! His younger sister.” “Okay, younger sisters do not bring trouble.” Helena replied with enthusiasm then her face fell as she remembered something or someone. “Well, Maria. There's your younger sister.” “You better watch your mouth, missy. She's no sister of mine.” I replied with a fierce tone and Helena raised her hand in sur

What was all that about?” Keith asked my sister with a subtly accusatory tone. “What happened where? Why are you asking me? Why don't you ask the person who walked away in the middle of dinner? A phone call should clarify details.” “Shut the hell up, Ailene. Don't make me angry.” I growled in a low voice and she gasped. “What is going on, Seb? The Conference Maria's POV After the flopped dinner event with Sebastian and his sister, I buried myself deep inside work and life as Nathan's mother to avoid him and the troubles that came with him. Whenever he called I was either busy with work or Nathan hence there was no time to have lengthy conversations or even see him. Two weeks later, I was invited to be a guest speaker in one of the biggest conferences that was held in the legal sphere in collaboration with the business sphere. “Man! I am so excited about this conference. I am so excited to be in Paris again.” Helena shouted as we exited our plane to head to the SUV that would take us to our suite. I had guest speaker privileges and Helena was enjoying every single moment. “I am nervous, man.” I stated plainly. “Oh, come off it. You will do fine.” She waved me off, more interested in the glitz that came with being a speaker at the conference. “The crowd.” I stated and Helena turned. “You do realize that Se

Giving up the idea, I turned to go to my room but the urge to see her was so strong, I found myself walking towards her door. “Seriously Lena, what do you want this time? More condoms?” I heard her shout and laughed because I couldn't wait to see her face when she found out that it wasn't Lena but me. But when she opened the door, I was the one who became speechless when I saw her outfit. She wore a silk camisole and a matching pair of small silk shorts.
