Bailey's povMy eyes widened in shock. "What?" I whispered as his gaze bored into mine. His expression was a mixture of hurt, anger and betrayal. What the hell is he talking-Oh. The dare. Stefan, still being held by Kaleb spoke up. " I keep fucking telling him it was just a dare." Kaleb's eyes darken and he whipped back around, and was just about to lung for Stefan again when I grabbed his arm. " I let him." I whispered, clutching his arm tighter. He stiffens by my words. " He didn't lie, it was a dare. But we didn't really kiss." I added when I felt the anger roll off of him in waves. " It didn't look like you two didn't really kiss Bailey." "Well we didn't." I gritted my teeth, now feeling frustrated that he was mad because of the dare. Stefan and I didn't even kiss! " And if we did, it shouldn't be any of your concern Kaleb," I let his arm go. Kaleb snapped to face me, a chilling glare on his face. I stood my ground and lifted my chin up. " You have no right to barge in
Bailey's povThough his words made my heart raced, the doubt clouded my feelings and made me scowl. " Right. Then you have a funny way of showing it." I pushed off him and rest my palm on his chest to push away from him fully, but he gripped both my wrists this time and prevented me to. " Let me explain everything Bailey." His tone is soft with a plea that almost melted my resolve, but I refuse to be weakened so quickly. " Kaleb-" Please. I know the way I left wasn't right-" You damn right it wasn't!" I snapped, my face flushing with irritation. His eyes pleaded with me to listen, to understand, but the frustration still lingered in my chest painfully. " Flower, it's really not what you think." I shook my head, trying to rip myself out his hold. " This is what any guilty person say to plead their case." I snorted out a dry laugh. Kaleb winced and let out a breath, but he didn't release his grip on my wrists. "I messed up, Bailey. I'm not denying that, but I need you to hear me
Bailey's povHer eyes are glued to Kaleb and me, especially on his hand. I know this looked rather intimate so I had no idea how to explain this. Good thing Kaleb had quick thinking. " I think I got rid of it." he uttered loud enough for Mira to hear while brushing his hand down my back as though there was something there that shouldn't have been. He takes a step back, looking over at his sister. " What are you doing here?" He questioned her, clearly want to stray her thoughts away from where it had drifted off to. Mira bounced her gaze between us, the tilt of accusation on her face as she takes a step forward. " The better question is why were you two in that position?" My stomach twisted and I know I may have to come up with an excuse or confess. But I couldn't. I couldn't bring myself to, fearing that this would be the end of our friendship." There was a tiny spider on her clothes, I was simply getting it off," Kaleb shrugged, strutting forward and acting neutral. I am jealou
Bailey's povThe ride was uncomfortable. It wasn't silent because Mira kept questioning about Stefan and what had triggered Kaleb to fight his friend, but his answers were so blunt and clipped that it made everyone feel uneasy. So after a bit, Mira decided to keep her mouth shut and looked out the window just as I did. They dropped me off first and as I bid the two goodbye I noticed Kaleb was too upset to even look at me. My stomach twisted. I didn't mean to make him feel bad, I had just said those words to Mira to get her off my back. I didn't mean them at all. I frowned, feeling the awful sinking feeling in my tummy as I watch them drive off. He didn't horn like he normally did when he dropped me off and I knew for certain that I had really upset him. I needed to fix this. I pulled out my phone and looked down at the screen, squinting as the sunlight casted a glow. I chewed my lips. I can text him but I wasn't sure if Mira would happen to see it. So I made up my mind. I'd wa
Bailey's povI sat there, stunned and speechless, re-reading his messages over and over again. Kaleb was coming to pick me up in three hours for our first date? This was not only unexpected but so sudden especially after the tension between us earlier. But the way he expressed his intentions sent a shiver down my spine and I can't help but feel a buzz of excitement and nerves. The idea of going on a first date with Kaleb made my heart flutter and for butterflies to stir in my belly. As far as I know, Kaleb had never been one to go on dates with any girl he has ever been with before. That alone made me smile as I type out a quick okay, excitement buzzing in my body. ~I have been under the shower spray for the longest, running my hand through my hair nervously. There's an anxious feeling in my body as the time ticks by. It has since been two and a half hours since I got the text from Kaleb. We settled on a time and he would be here in exactly thirty minutes to pick me up for our f
Bailey's pov" Now you two, break it up. We will have none of that in your room." A stern voice reaches my ears and I instantly grow red, peeling away from Kaleb as though he had lit me on fire. Leaning against my doorframe and pushing the already ajar door wide open, stood my very stern dad. He crossed his arms, his eyes leveling with Kaleb who cleared his throat. " I may have given you the okay to date my daughter young man, but that doesn't mean I will have you two stay inside her room without some rules." He stepped into the room and stared at the two of us sternly. " Well her bathroom." Flustered beyond measure I rushed out of the bathroom, Kaleb following close behind me. Dad pointed at the bed. " You two, sit." He commanded. I plopped my ass on the bed robotically and so does Kaleb. I would have laughed at his expression if I too wasn't in the same predicament. Dad stood silently, a couple steps in front of us. His arms are crossed and he has that serious expression he doe
Bailey's povThe ride was quiet but not awkward at all. It was strangely comforting. Half way through the drive, Kaleb had placed his hand on my thigh. I had no intention of pushing his hand off, but I could tell he was nervous that I would with the tension I felt in his grip. However, as the time went by without me pushing his hand off, he relaxed and gripped me more firm. " Where are we going?" I asked, sneaking a glance at him. We had been driving for an hour and he showed no signs of stopping any time soon. I saw the quirk of his lips at the corner as he tried to resist a smile. " Hmmm, does nothing look familiar to you?" his eyes caught mine briefly before he brought his attention back to the road ahead. I squinted out the window, trying to make out any signs that could give away our destination. Familiarity made me smile. I turn to him with a whip of my head, grinning widely. " Are we going to your parents beach house?"Seeing the happy gleam in my eyes, Kaleb looked at me f
Bailey's povThe sudden whirl of words out of my lips made Kaleb pause. He peers down at me silently, shock swirling in his gaze. Until perhaps my words had finally registered. The confused line between his brows pull apart and a light of happiness glowed in his irises, making me catch my breath. And then a growing beam spread on his face and I knew that he had captured my heart forever then. A gasp push out of my lips as I am suddenly in his arms, warmed by his affection as he lifts me higher with a happy cheer tumbling out of his mouth. He hugged me, shouting 'yes!' as he looked up at me with a soft gaze. I can't help but giggle through the tears, cupping his face as a wide grin spread across his lips. His eyes sparkled with happiness and disbelief. " Please tell me this isn't a dream." He whispered, hugging me tighter as though I would disappear in any moment. My heart thrust against my chest and I run my thumb over his cheek, smiling down at him before leaning down and kissin
