It's been two days and I have been staking out, making the central police station my second home.
I've had to be in the presence and company of officer Steve. The hunk of a man and his team did and are still doing their best to find her but it just was not enough for me. The past few days have been hell for me. Debby was gone and nowhere to be found. I didn't think that a simple outing would result in something as bad and serious as this. My phone begins to ring and look to see the caller.
Jacob. I answer the call, slowly moving the phone to my ears, standing up as well, and taking a few steps away from where I was sitting with two police officers.
“Hey, Jakey.“ I said into the phone, trying my best to sound bright and hopeful. "What's up with you today, huh?”
“I am not okay. Heard anything new yet? They keep saying they'll find her and we haven't heard anything from the
"It's suspicious though so I've asked that the call line be traced." I listen to him keenly. If the land was an abandoned piece of land, that means that the forests were definitely out of bounds as well."I think he's doing this as some sort of PR. To gain relevance of some sort.” Officer Steve added to the long information he gave me.A guy with an impressive height soon came to us, walking from God knows where because I didn't see him anywhere close since I was here. He reaches where we are standing soon. His face is familiar and I think I must have seen him before but I do not remember until he opens his mouth to speak. Then, recognition came. He's Steve's guy. He was there until the day Debby was first arrested."Captain,“ he called with reverence in his tone. “We cross-checked. We could not find anything. There were no fingerprints left. Everything on that island wa
When Debby woke up, she was adrift. Her clothes stuck to her body like fragrance to flower petals, causing her skin to show through the once opaque clothes she didn't know how she got into. Her hair was all over and she was immediately reminded of what happened the night before.Of Leo's kisses and his licks. She felt her legs tighten again as they did for most of last night. She had returned his energy and roamed her hands all over his delicious body, going on to match him with her kisses.Debby looked around for him but couldn't find him anywhere inside the tent. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was that everywhere seemed strange. Like she wasn't in the same place she was yesterday. But she soon understood when she looked around some more, that she was in no tent. Rather, she was beside the waterside, drenched in saltwater.E
By the time they got to Hamburg, it was late in the night. They met Jacob waiting at the police station. He ran into his sister's arms as soon as he laid his eyes on her. Jacob held her tightly, unwilling to let go, tears threatening to spill out of his eyes. The witnesses could see his obvious struggle to not cry."I'm fine. I'm here." Debby kept on saying, as she stroked his wide back. She took a second to wonder why her brother was seemingly increasing in grith and height. He seemed wider and taller than the last time she saw him.Or maybe it was just because it's been a short while.Debby understood how Jacob felt. Flipping the circumstances, Debby didn't want to picture what she'd do or the kind of frenzy she would go into if anything ever happened to Jacob. In fact, she was already in a lot of doubt and suspicion whenever he was away from home for a few da
"What? Do you want to tell me if you remember anything that happened? Are you sure you're in the right headspace to talk right now? Remember, you can take all the time you need." Sophia said, switching her cup of tea to her right hand and reaching out for Debby's hand with the other. It was warm and comforting to Debby, this singular gesture of Sophia's."I'm okay," Debby affirmed."I freaked out on that day. I called you over again. I kept calling you once Jake informed me that the police were at your place and the Gayville community hospital, asking for you. You weren't picking your calls up so I was hella worried.""I understand now why you called me that much," Debby replied, with a small smile."Do you want to talk? If you do, then I suggest you want to replay everything and start from the beginning. From the night before your arrest.""I was
It's been 4 days since Debby returned home and she's not heard from him.Not from Sebastian the regular human or Leo the thief. Both identities seemed to have just disappeared into thin air.She resumed work against great opposition from Sophia and Jake and at work, she kept on getting several glances, from people looking at her funny. These were mostly people who didn't have the boldness to walk up to her. Others simply, especially people she hadn't ever talked with, seized the opportunity to sympathize with her about what happened."I do not understand why you're here. You should be home, resting!" Doctor Brian said as he laid eyes upon her in the common room. "You are here, working like your job is more important than your life."Debby wasn't exactly bothered by all of their talks and actions. What bothered the most was how to start looking for her dad's paper.&n
Debbie looked at him. It was difficult to see Lucas in the same light especially as she got to know his true self from Sebastian. On one hand, he was her Boss, and then on the other, he was Sebastian's cousin. A light went off in her head when she remembered what Sebastian told her about him trying to hijack the hospital from him.A lot of things seemed different about him.Well, apart from the fact that he's a jerk. That one was an everlasting unchanging part of him. But she was still thinking of what to reply when she heard him say, "so, on that note, I have decided to suspend you. Until the investigations are done with."Debby's brows arched in shock."Excuse me, I didn't quite get that." Debby began, standing straight, her voice changing from easy to thick and serious. "What do you mean, suspend? Why should I be suspended? I was involved in a misunderstanding and life-t
It was hella difficult for Debby to move through the rest of her working day when something as huge as the weight of what she just learned sitting heavily on her shoulders. When she was done by evening, without even her usual gay goodbyes, and without even knowing how she packed her stuff into her bag, she went. She went home. And no, not Sophia's house. But the apartment she lived in with Jacob.Drawing closer to the building, after she finally arrived at Gayville, Debby was reminded of what Sebastian said concerning the ownership of the building.Just like that, she was a building owner? She was just minding her business and just like that, she's now a landlady of a two-story building situated on a promising land? She even wondered if he bought just the building or the building as well as the piece of land it was erected upon.Debby couldn't bring her
Debby spent her break the following day at work, after work, reading up on leukemia and its forms and causes. This bloody blood cancer. She went ahead to look at her family history. Someone in her family had blood cancer and of course, that someone was her dad. He was said to have died and she began to wonder if her dad had leukemia long before he gave birth to her.Because, if that was the case, then probably she must have inherited a faulty gene from him but then again, she wondered how long he's been with the faulty gene. That was the only explanation for this occurrence. She began to be curious about how her father could have gotten cancer in the first place.Debby looked up all forms of blood cancer. Yes, she was a doctor and should know already but the depth she went to with studying the illness, it could be understood that there was a hunger in her soul to find some sort o
