I have told Mom that I would think of something to get us out of this problem, but how will I arrange such a significant amount of money in such a short time?
“Ali,...Ali,” I feel someone shaking my shoulders.
“huh,” I said and looked up to see the twins looking worriedly at me.
“W...what?” I said and ran a hand over my face.
“Is everything alright? We have been calling you for a long time, but you didn’t respond to us,” Ella said to me. THE BELL RINGS before I can reply to them, signalling that the first class will start soon.
“I will tell you guys later,” I said to them. They nodded their head at me, and we rushed to our homeroom class. I couldn’t concentrate on any of my classes due to today’s incident, and I think my friends noticed that too because they were nagging me to tell them what was bothering me at lunchtime.
“I will tell you, after school, because it’s not the place where I can share this problem with you,” I said to them while grabbing the tray and getting in the line for the lunch. They nodded their heads at me and changed the topic. The rest of the classes also go like a blur, and right now, we are going to the twin’s house. I called my mother and informed them that I would have a sleepover at the twin’s home.
“You guys, go ahead. I will park the car and join you guys soon,” Ethan said to us. We nodded at him and got out of the car.
“Mom, we are home,” Ella said while entering the living room.
“Welcome home, sweety, oh Alison, it’s so good to see you after a long time,” Aunt Milley said and engulfed me in a tight hug.
“It’s good to see you too, Aunt Milley,” I said while returning the hug. Aunt Milley is like a second mom to me. She had looked after me and my brother Lucas when mom had gone to grandma’s house to look after her when she had fallen sick, and dad was out of the country for business purposes.
“How are your parents doing? I didn’t get the time to see them after your mother started to work,” she asks me.
“They were fine, just busy with work,” I said with an awkward smile, I think she noticed it and was about to ask about it, but Ella saved me.
“Mom, I am hungry. Can you send some snacks for us to my room?” Ella asks her.
“Sure, what would you guys like to eat?” Milley asks us.
“Sandwiches and muffins please,” Ella said while smiling at her.
“Sure,” Milley said, smiling at us and walking inside the kitchen. Ella grabbed my hand and dragged me towards her room.
“Split it out,” she ordered after closing the door of her room.
“What?” I ask, confused.
“You had been spacing out all day. You didn’t even make any snarky remark or fight back when that slut Shally purposely took her leg out to make you fall on the floor; that is not like you at all, Alison.” Ella said to me.
“Something is bothering you, and we want to know what that is,” Ella said to me.
“You know you can share anything with us, and we will be there to help you, right?” Ethan asks while entering the room with a tray of food and closing the door after him. I sigh and tell them what happened this morning.
“Oh god, that is a huge amount of money. How are you going to pay it in such a short amount of time?” Ella asks, looking worried.
“That's what I have been thinking about the whole day but didn’t able to come up with anything?” I said to them.
“How about a part-time job?” Ella suggested.
“Who would hire a high school girl? Besides, when I got my salary, it would be too late, and it wouldn’t be enough to pay the debt,” I said to her.
“I have an idea, but I don’t think you are going to like it,” Ethan said while looking deep in his thoughts.
“What’s going on inside your mind, Ethan?” I said while narrowing my eyes at him. I swear that if he suggests any indecent ideas, then I am going to kill him.
“Hey, don’t look at me like this. I will not suggest any of that kind of ideas,” Ethan said, and I sighed in relief.
“You have learned boxing and martial arts, right, and you still visit your coach to help as his assistant, right?” he asks me.
“Yes, so?” I ask him.
“So, how about using this talent of yours to earn money while fighting in the street fight? It is the quickest and easiest way to earn money, and the reward money is also high.” Ethan suggested to me.
“No way, don’t even think about that, Alison. It is too dangerous, and many gangsters go to that place. What if you go there and gather unrequired attention,” Ella asks me.
“It’s not like she is going to participate with her real identity; we will disguise her and use a fake name over there,” Etan countered.
“But I still think it is too dangerous for her. What if someone stalks her to get information or dirt over her,” Ella asks him.
“Do you have any better idea than this?” Ethan asks her, and she shakes her head at him while fidgeting with her fingers.
“So, what do you think?” Ethan asks me.
“It’s not a bad idea, but how did I enter there? Do you know someone who can help me to enter inside the street fighting?” I ask him.
“I know a person who can help you with all this,” Etan said to me, and Ella gave him a look that says I didn’t know that you are into this type of stuff.
“Hey, don’t give me that look. I know that person because he is a regular customer in a subway, so we become good friends,” Ethan said while lifting his hand in surrender.
“So, when do you want to meet him?” Ethan asks me.
“How about today? The sooner, the better, I guess,” I said with a shrug.
“Okay, then I will go and call him,” with that said, Ethan walks out from there.
“Are you sure you want to do this, Alison?” Ella asks while looking worried. I just nodded my head at her and poured some more juice into my glass to calm my nerves.
(Alison P.O.V)“I have talked with him, and he said that he will help us,” Ethan said while walking inside the room.“Cool, how about we go and buy some wig or something to use as a disguise?” Ella asks me. We agree and go to the costume store and buy two blonde wigs, two pairs of lenses, and three hoddies from the mall. I wanted to pay for all that, but Ella stopped me, saying that she wanted to do something to help me since she couldn’t come up with any safe ideas, even though I had told her that she didn’t have to worry about it.By the time we reached home, it was already time for dinner. After dinner, we go to Ella’s room, complete our homework, and pretend to fall asleep after talking for some time.An hour later, we heard someone knock on our door.“You guys get ready. We are leaving now. Mother and father had already fallen asleep,” Ethan said while peeing inside the room. I wear my wig, eye lens, and hoodie, check everything I need for street fighting, and then follow them ou
(Alison P.O.V)I registered my details at the front desk, my heart thrumming with anticipation. The scent of determination seemed to hang in the air as I walked towards the locker room, the echo of my footsteps blending with the distant sounds of cheering and the rhythmic thuds of punches meeting flesh. The anticipation was palpable, a surge of energy that invigorated my every step.Inside the locker room, I shed my everyday clothes and donned my fighting attire. The fabric clung to my body, a second skin that was both comfortable and armor. I tied my hair into a tight bun, every strand secured so there would be no distractions. My reflection in the mirror stared back at me, a mix of intensity and focus that I had honed over countless hours of training. As I stepped out of the locker room and walked to the fighting arena with my friends. The arena opened up before me like a coliseum of raw emotion. Two men were locked in combat, their movements a dance of power and strategy. The crowd
(Alison P.O.V)“And the winner of this fight is Roxcy,” the referee said, raising my hand in victory. I couldn’t help but smile. After that exhilarating victory, my journey in the ring continued. Fight after fight, I stepped into the arena, no longer underestimated by my opponents. It was as if the whispers of my previous triumph had spread through the ranks, a testament to the power of breaking stereotypes. This new chapter of challenges was both daunting and invigorating.Gone were the smirks and dismissive glances. Instead, my opponents met my gaze with a steely resolve, a determination to match my own. They had seen what I was capable of, and they weren’t about to let their guard down. As the bell rang, signaling the start of each match, I felt a different kind of energy, a heightened sense of focus that pulsed through every fiber of my being. The fights became more intense, a strategic dance of skill and strength. Each punch I threw was met with a calculated counter, and every mo
As Ethan drove inside the entrance gate of the mansion, my eyes were immediately drawn to a stunning fountain that came into view. The sight was truly captivating, with water dancing and sparkling under the sunlight. The surroundings were like a haven of greenery, adorned with an assortment of plants and trees that seemed to embrace the estate. Before me, the path diverged into two inviting routes. One led towards the garages, where vehicles found their resting places. The other, however, took a different course–a picturesque journey through a splendid garden. It was a space that seemed to be plucked straight from a fairy tale, complete with a children’s playground nestled amidst the foliage.Amidst the garden’s allure were benches strategically placed, accompanied by tables and chairs that beckoned people to sit and savour the peaceful atmosphere. A magnificent greenhouse stood proudly, adding an air of sophistication to the surroundings.Choosing the path that led to the garages, Et
Alison awoke the following morning, and as she attempted to sit up, every muscle in her body protested as though a truck had mercilessly run over her during the night. The deep ache in her limbs was relentless, akin to a heavy weight pressing down on her. Every movement sent jolts of discomfort radiating through her muscles, and it felt as if her body had been pushed to its limits.Even the simple act of lifting her arm to reach for a glass of water seemed like an impossible task, and she couldn’t suppress the groans of pain with each movement. Glancing at her wall clock, she saw it was 5:30 AM.“I still have four and a half hours left before I have to go to school,” Alison thought. She managed to sit up, grabbed a glass of water, then opened her drawer, retrieved two painkiller tablets, and washed them down with a glass of water before slipping back into slumber.
After attending the school we all headed to the mall to do some necessary shopping. First, we headed to the cosmetic shop to purchase some concealer and make-up. As I was about to pick up the cheapest make-up kit and concealer, Ella stopped me. ” I know you wanted to buy the cheapest make-up kit and concealer to save money, but it would be better to purchase a little bit more expensive, long-lasting, and waterproof make-up. It would be troublesome if you are makeup worn down in the middle of the day and people notice injuries and bruises on your face,” Ella said while grabbing her hand stopping her from grabbing the cheap self to the expensive one and then looking for the make up she wanted to purchase for Alison. After she grabs what she wants she walks towards the counter and tells the girl sitting on the counter to wrap it up and for them. Before Alison gets the money out of her purse, Ethan tak
“Ro-ka-cy!” seeing Ella cheering Roxcy like that Ethan and a few people in the arena also started chanting her name with her, making a smile form on Roxcy’s face. Soon the crowd was evenly split, with half chanting Roxcy’s name and the other half cheering for Rebbeca. As the chants for Roxcy grew louder, Rebbeca’s expression darkened with discontent since she did not like sharing the attention of the crowd with someone else. She clenched her fist and gritted her teeth to keep herself so from punching Roxcy before the fight began. But soon a smirk formed on her face when she thought about how she going to crush her opponent and show her that no one could take her place as a champion.“Okay, guys, gather up and touch your gloves,” the referee said, motioning for Roxcy and Rebbeca to meet in the center of the ring. The two fighters approached each other, their gloved hand
"Say it again. What did you say just now? I think I have heard something wrong," Ethan said while glaring at him."No, you heard right. It was me who arranged this fight," Robin said. Ethan was going to punch him again, but Ella and I stopped him."Don't get me wrong, I didn't do it to hurt her. I did it for her good," Robin said while massaging his jaw."What do you mean?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at him. "I don't understand how me almost getting killed by my opponent is for my good.""Didn't you say that you wanted to join the street fighting to repay your father's debt?" Robin asked."Yes, so?" I replied."Every once in five years, these street fighting clubs arrange competitions between their best fighters and the best fighters of other clubs. The rewards they provide to the winners are also huge. It is the easiest way to earn more money if you want to repay your debt as soon as possible. Just look at the amount you win in this fight. It is much larger than you normally earn," R
