GAVIN'S POV

LIES

I just stared at her, I couldn't bring myself to tell her the truth. Not for any reason. If I did, she would leave me instantly, hate me forever and wouldn't mind marrying someone else because of who I truly am.

An alpha who couldn't change into his wolf form, it was the most unchallengeable power an Alpha should have but I had none. Just my human strength, it wouldn't take me so far.

“So, are you going to tell me or not?” she asked me, she sat close to me, waiting for an explanation.

"I'll tell you, but you can't tell anyone," I said to her.

"I won't," Iris promised, and I believed her.

"The real reason we were out there in that rural area was to look for Jerry's parents," I lied again. I couldn't bring myself to tell her the truth.

"Why do you keep hiding it from her, Gavin? Just tell her the truth. For all you know, she might leave you alone," my inner wolf, Gray, urged.
